Friggen miricale, I finally got it ordered. ------, not sure when I first saw it , but it was during a surgical recovery. Oh, I have a card pack, pick one. It totally mesmerized me. Takes many viewings to catch all the nuances or it did for me. I love movies that get better with each viewing. .........And yes, I did clearly identify with it.
Thanks Ziggy
Well didn't get caught up and DBF home. So later Owlettes, Probably will be, drinking coffee alllllllll day long.
The one thing I did catch
TANG beautiful husband and daughter
-
Nettie u look adorable with u'r new pole dancing-a er bubble scarf from Chevy. how nice.
Tang U'r picture is delightful to look at with that sweet little face and nice hunk
I've been quiet today, well here, cuz I've been unloading on my politicians, like that's going to get me anywhere, but I need to do it for my own peace of mind giving them a piece of my mind--and I don't have much to spare either. oh well--
Sas u MISSED the call--oohhh kind of funny.
-
Such nice photos, thanks for sharing. Tang, adorable family and Nettie lookin' good! Love the scarf too.
Not feeling too good. Maybe I can find King of Hearts on Netflix to watch and zone out. Not even finished day two of testing and now need PET scan for lymph nodes.
Early MRI tomorrow at 7:30. Goodnight lovely ladies.
-
Oh FBB I'm sorry, u'r not getting a break here--I hope the test is good that's for sure. And u can start to really heal from so much crap.
-
FBB with you babe. Yes, get King of Hearts, allow time for at least three viewings. FBB i'm right behind you my total body scan is Thursday.
Cami you are so right sweetie it was ironically funny. The very reason I'm calling to tell them they have it wrong, was the very reason I couldn't get to the phone. AND BOY were my little angels fighting. I have one for each shoulder 1. one saying okay just run and get the phone, you know it's them, just this once you can break technique. 2 the other angel saying, now sheila you do that and you're going against everything you just spent so much time trying to learn, you break technique, what good was the learning.
2nd angel won.
Krips those two angels keep talking to each other allot of the friggen time. Then with me thinking all the time, it get's pretty noisy. Add to that tinnitus. It's like I'm in Grand Central Station, all the time. Except when I'm studying, some how I can seriously focus.
I know Chevy get's it. Tinnitus is PITA. It's a different noise for everyone, and for each person it can vary as to intensity, pitch, type, and amplitude. Mines basically a cricket sound. It can vary from crickets on a warm summer night---soft, there, but not irritating. When it real soft, it's almost nice. Other times, it gets like crickets after a rain, loud and irritating, but I can't just shut a door.
I did learn a couple of years ago how to reset it. That was a very, very nice thing to find on the internet. I use the vibrating bed on high and lay with the worst ear next to the loudest part of the motor. 1/2- 1 hour, the next morning it's almost always reset to the low cricket level. Sometimes even gone for awhile, but only one ear. First time I followed the sources directions and it worked--"OH what a relief it was" (isn't that a commercial for something else?).
-
Split the posts b/c it was too long: Besides the other was social this is business;
New learning tonight. AN OH WELL MOMENT. The SNMMI Clinical Practice Guidelines(USA guide) states, specifically, that Lasix shouldn't be taken during treatment. Only said lasix, not any other diuretic. Another OH WELL, I'm on it daily. Wasn't on their checklist, they didn't ask, it was on my med list (LOL, I think). OH WELL, can't change history.
Same source said no sleeping with anyone for 16 days. So, do I follow RO's guidline 4 days-no. Endocrins guidline 7days was a possibility until I found so many variances. Now a new variance of 16 days. DBF hasn't heard this one yet. This is actual sleeping , not the slang for "sleeping with meaning". But will translate the slang to the actual b/c NOBODY has it the same. Sure hope the meter reading is okay. The source that said 3-4 months is kind of wacko, but 3 months does put me at the final end of the GLOW. July 25th.
OH this one I found really OUTRAGEOUS. Suggested that guys have sperm frozen b/c it may negatively affect sperm b/c of closeness to bladder. DUH sexist to the max. I've scrubbed on pelvic surgery. The ovaries are just as close, if not closer to the bladder, they just happen to be inside. A statement like this is what makes me crazy. These people putting these guidelines together are supposed to know this stuff. This tells me they didn't have an Ob/GYN doc in the group, or they were asleep during this part of the discussion, or missed the meeting. Just can't believe a OB/GYN worth their salt would let this one slip by without a fight.
Almost thought I found an answer when they showed a chart of how much radiation affected the bladder wall, but it stopped short. No statement as to measurement of radiation in the urine. Many statements that say it's highest in the bladder, second to the thyroid. Found the bladder wall measurement, but not the urine.
These are the questions I'm raising.
Can the development of a personal care activities/routines allow the patient to protect themselves from undue exposure to radioactive activity in the home setting.
1. If RAI-131 has it's highest concentration in the urine, and the urine get's on the bare hand, can't t that be mitigated (stopped /reduced) by use of gloves? All protocols say to wipe, dispose of toilet paper in toilet or designated container. Use of gloves by the patient is not discussed in any protocol or research article that I reviewed.
2. Can't the use of a spray bottle to flush the skin of the vulva and buttocks of the urine that has the concentrated RAI131 reduce the skin exposure? Not a single source addresses this question
LOL, those two questions are what all this study has been about. Sounds simple, but all these hours of reading has not found a single source or study that has addressed these two questions. They are not minor questions. They each have major implications for the patient. That's a problem for me. It's another example where the patient that should be the absolute center of the quidelines, is superfulous.
The urine drops on the toilet seat/floor gets mentioned in every protocol as to how to clean up "Use gloved hand with paper towel, wipe toilet seat/floor and dispose of in toilet or designated container." Hey, my skin is worth some sort of mention? 64 years OF use of RAI-131 and no one cares about my BOTTOM or my BARE HANDS, I'm offended.

I know gals, it'll be over soon. I'm just practicing on what I'm going to say to the NRC guy.

Hi all! Been off the net for the weekend trying to relax. Had a pretty good Sunday hanging out with a dear friend and shopping, then took the dogs to the vet this morning, had lunch with the BF, took a 4 hour nap with some of the craziest dreams i have EVER had, did some chores, then went to eat again. Had and XL margarita. I figured after that nap, I might need extra help falling asleep tonight.
oh- I use a handy Sticky note program to write things out while I am reading through everyone's posts. Otherwise, I would never be able to keep up!
Sas, I am so sorry that you are dealing with all of this due to someone's ineptitude. I would probably be in jail right now if I were you. I have a friend that is a surgical tech, and loves it. She said many doctors expect to not have to ask for anything- you just should know. THat takes a lot of skill! love that you are going after the rads info and givin' 'em the what-for! They better know you are an expert on wiping safely! I envy your medical knowledge. I get so lost looking at all my labs and reports. Be in your pocket Thursday
Dutch- I am so glad your daughter is okay! Sounds like you have your hands full with a ton of activities.
Smaarty, mmmm chocolate cokes! So yum! I hope someone took the organ. So sorry to hear that your RIghty is slipping/ HOw frustrating for you! does it hurt? and that glass of wine looks just right!
Holeinone- I have been volunteering with hospice for 10 years. I started because my grandmother was in care, and I saw what a difference the massage therapist made, even when she was unconscious. After she passed away, I decided to go to massage school so that I could offer people the same comfort. If you have the time, find the one thing you love to do and offer your time. There is nothing better. Glad Wicked was great!
Tang, I hope you are feeling better and your UTI and thrush is clearing up. Great Easter pic! such a cute family!
Teka- it is hard to spend time online when the weather is nice if you are not siting in front of a computer all day for work. Go enjoy it!
Cam- Love the photo you posted, you are so pretty! Beautiful eyes! Congrats on finishing up your taxes!
Zigadig- Did your get your garden planted? i am with you on the communion with dirt. It feels just perfect.
Chevy- Ive been wary of escalators since I was a child. I don't think getting old has anything to do with it. It is so nice to get deep cleaning done around the house. Mine is in dire need! Love planting veggies. There is nothing better than eating something minutes after it came out of the ground. Cam's scarf is beautiful. and i adore your big hair! You aren gorgeous! the higher the hair the closer to heaven! (are you originally from the south?)
Blessings- Hope you got a good rain and no damage.
2nd-
the photo of all of you at lunch! how fun! But I agree with FBB- pretty sure you were all enjoying a good show and not just lunch!
I thought Dairy Queen also.. then started thinking about peanut buster parfaits..... mmmm But Don Quixote makes more sense
Alyson- YAY for finding your earring!
Bluebird- I have all my extremities crossed for you. Staying in your pocket with the rest of the gang.
Spookiesmom- how's tricks?
Nettie- how was your road trip? feeling any better lately? Have you tired acupuncture or massage to help relieve a little pain? some of it may well be from stress on top of whatever else may be causing it. Ans that is one cake gone wrong for sure! and you look great in your scarf!
Badger- Hi!
Dwill, hope your PS appointment goes well.
Wren- I had super straight hair before chemo. Always wanted curls, now i have a fro and could not be happier! I hope i get to keep it.

Morning gals! Yaaaaaaaaaay! You look DAHLING Nettie! You have pretty teeth! I hope you are feeling better, so you can put on that big smile again! Glad you like it!
Yes Tang! Love your fam! I love these pictures...!
Sass, I am pretending I know what you are talking about with the "cards"... That PRObably has something with what you and Lilshit were talking about ..."Queen of Hearts?" All I know is, I like 4 of them at a time on the video poker machines...
Cammi! You other Lilshit! Is it a "bubble-scarf????" Are you sure? I don't think Nettie dances on poles... or do you know something we don't know?
I just wish you peace young lady.... get those Politicians off your mind, because we need all the brain power we can muster, so don't go giving anymore away...Kay? Oh God, I swear, they are going to come and get you...! Those folk do NOT like rebels! And you are tending to get on their nerves, I imagine! Not on mine...
I KNOW!!! Just send me any future rants and letters, and I will figure out if they really need sent, and send them for you! Yeah... like I would do that! Now I have to run around worrying about YOU getting into more trouble!
FBB! Morning gal! We'll all be thinking of you this morning!
Sass, yes, Tinnitis drive me crazy sometimes... even WITH my hearing aids! Mine is usually the low, steady hum... or even the clicking... At least it's only temporary, because sounds come and go, only for another "new" one to take it's place.
A vibrating bed? You're KIDDING, right? I didn't know it was used for THAT!!! Do you have to put a quarter in the head-board to turn it on?
I have a heating pad on MY bed...
And okay, I DID read what you talked about... It makes a lot of sense! Hope you can get "them" to listen... I was just stuck on the men's sperm news, and your cleaning ritual which MUST take a lot of thought and time! I feel somehow like I am not taking as much care as I SHOULD be doing...
So today I am hooking up the garden hose through the bathroom window, and "rinsing" myself thoroughly! I mean! Never can be too clean, right?
Let you know how that freezing water feels....!
Hi JWow! She's pregnant you know.... the one on TV! Man, I had such a bad dream last night also! It woke me up, and you just lay there, KNOWing that it was real! I dreamed DH left! He CAN'T! He can barely walk! But he left in my dream! I was just sobbing, and in dire straights! But when I woke up, I thanked GOD it wasn't real!!!!
That is so nice how you paragraph and "bold" everyone, and talk to each of us separately! We could take lessons! Yes, I'm glad I'm not the only one afraid of escalators... they are our enemy... I must seek out elevators from now on! And I bought more spinach seed yesterday! Almost have all my greens planted. But it is now 37 degrees out... got my tomato plants covered for dear life! I'm afraid to look!
You asked Spookie "How's tricks?" Are you sure that is appropriate to ask HER? I would think that was meant for either me, Cammi or Lilshit!
Okay.... Love you gals! xoxoxoxo

Still waiting for call back to see ps. They'll probably call when I'm in the pool.
SAS, love all the info. Who knew! Sorry you have to go thru all this but sick me! These "experts" are suppose to know this stuff already!
Oh they just called, so it's on Friday.
I'm managing the opifast stuff ok. Yesterday I really wanted to eat something. Not hungry, just want it! But I didn't. Yeah for me!
-
Yeah, I saw that tricks comment. She HAD to mean you Chevy. I can't get Spookie to do a trick, and I'm too creaky.
Just listening to the static in my ears. Yes, Sas really does have a vibrating bed. It was wonderful!

Just wanted to drop by and send well wishes to all. Hope everyone is in good shape and good spirits!!
-
Okey dokey talked with the guy from the NRC for 2 1/4 hours. Next step email him all my stuff. We worked on a cover letter that he will send to the medical division. So it's done. Thank god, I was getting really bored. Now the clean up. Ugh the clean up, is the boring part. The research is the fun part.
Thanks for hanging in there LOL. Good news, I'm glowing and will glow till July 25th. But not like those poor folks with Hyperthyroid.
-
So sad to hear about MaryWH! Last I read, I thought she was starting new treatment????
-
Yes, I know.... she was..... don't know much about anything, other than what she posted herself.... It's just so hard to think of one of our "friends" having such a hard time....
-
