Smaarty, I was told I have a 5 lb weight limit the first week & to avoid pushing, pulling & reaching. But, I was also told I could raise my arms, like to shampoo my hair. I'm trying to limit my activities, within scope of responsibilities.

I'm here. Just been lurking for a couple days. Have been rather tired and actually getting to bed by 12:30-1:30 a.m., but still sleeping until 11:00 a.m. I really need to get into a better sleep rhythm. Breeder posted on FB today that the puppies woke her & her DH up @ 3:00 a.m. to be feed and play. She's driving to Spokane today to deliver the 2 little girls to their humans. Saturday the other 2 boys will be going to Eastern Montana, so Kirby will be without his siblings for a week. Breeder is letting him hang with the family until then.

When I went to the pharmacy on Tuesday to pick up the Zofran script, I found that my insurance refused to pay because the drug apparently falls under the Medicare part B, rather than Medicare part D. It turns out that if you are a cancer patient certain drugs fall under different insurances. Ok, so I can deal with that, but now I have to find a pharmacy that actually bills Medicare part B, since the one I use now does not. This pharmacy is the preferred provider and quite convenient for me so I won't change from them, but now I'll have to go to 3 different pharmacies for all of my meds. Costco=for 50,000 IU Vit. D, my pharmacy= for most others and another for the Zofran. Oh Goodie! :0) NOT! Oh well, it could always be worse.

I woke up to snow here in Salem today, but the temps are supposed to get into the high 40's by the weekend. I'll be staying home today, but I do have to do laundry though. I've procrastinated since Saturday and it is not socially acceptable to go commando. Plus a bit chilly.

Susan - Hopefully all is okay with you ladies in Eureka.

Lita - Yes, 2 days to our birthdays! 9 days to puppy delivery! Remember at 12:00 noon on Saturday we can lift our coffee, juice, wine, whatever to each other and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Thank God for another one! Otherwise, do you have any fun plans for your day?

MammaRay - How's the headache today? I hope it is much improved and you are resting comfortably.

WildT - I know how hard it is to listen to the doctor/our bodies when we see so much we want/need to do. That is how I ended up experiencing 7 hip dislocations this past Summer. I behave myself for the most part now. So not worth the extended recovery time and possible extra surgery. Eeew!

Okay, off to the laundry room. Later Ladies.

Junie...my friend is hosting a B'day party for me at her house. We're expecting about 40 people, so it should be fun. Gotta do it while we can. I'll raise a glass of champagne to you. Thank God I'm off chemo this week ;-).

Got my 6 loads of laundry done and it feels great to know that chore is done for now. But of course we all know that it will have to done again. And again . . . . . .

Lita - Your B-day plans sound like fun. It's is good to know you are loved by your friends. A friend of mine is taking me to lunch later today and as I've said before, I also have plans to go to the Portland zoo to see the animals & their Christmas Light display next Tuesday. Weather permitting.

Susan - Glad you slept through the earthquake and you're all okay.

Feline - How is your DD's black-eye? Has it started to turn shades of green yet?

Sensi - How are you doing? and is Chance's swelling all better?

Shep - How are things with you?

I was sound asleep here at 3:00 a.m., but for some reason suddenly woke up with a feeling of anxiety and tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but that didn't work so I've taken some meds and am waiting for those to kick in, so I thought I'd check in here.

Well back to bed and lets try this again.

Except for laundry and a few dishes I am going to have a lazy day. Been battling the cold that Hubby gave me. Feeling better today. So exhausted last night that as soon as my head hit the pillow, I crashed. Only woke up once all night to get a drink of water and didn't wake up until the alarm clock went off

imageThis is a wood stork. Ugly bird, but big. Guess they are the original snowbirds we don't see them in summer. Taken close to my house yesterday.

Well Owlettes, I am finally here with my Tuesday night report. I spent all day Tuesday getting ready and resting, alternately, so that I wouldn't be worn out by the time we left. We go to the home of the CFO of IT division where DH works, and she and her hubby have it wonderfully catered (he's a wine wholesaler so it's always good stuff tho we stuck to cider). When I walked in, her eyes lit up and she came over and hugged me, everyone was like that, glad to see me, it was awesome. Met the newest member of the management team and his wife spent time with me on the sofa chatting. Promptly at 8, everyone grabbed their coats and purses and we headed over to the Mexican restaurant on the lake where they have a large private dining room set up with a taco buffet. We were waiting for the line to shorten when I looked toward the door and there was my doc and her hubby! So we sat with them and had a great chat. When I told her what DH had suggested about going to Michigan for Christmas, she leaned across the table and said, NO! and proceeded to tell him why. So he was properly chastised and I didn't have to do it myself. And my sister is going to come out in January for a visit.

Wednesday I paid the price, though, with the pain and muscle spasms that follow exertion like that. Had a visit from my pastor and a very good talk. Thursday I had chemo and doc visit, and later endocrinologist, my once a year check in, got home at 3 and crashed and slept 6 hours, had a nice phone call, and then couldn't get to sleep until 4. Slept another 4 hours and didn't nap today (almost did tho).

And my hair is falling out big time. It's all over the place. Time for a shave. Got a call in to my hairdresser.

    That's all I got today.

WildT, yes the itch! I was afraid to scratch. It is not like you can get to them. I still get the itch where my scars are. I notice it usually comes when I eat certain seafoods. It is not easy to rest, is it? So many things to do. Isn't nice to have that iron hard expanders removed? Did you go with round or tear drop? My PS pushed for tear drop, but I was afraid it would rotate, so I settled for round.

Feline, I could not get the video to work. I would rather be inconvenient by the wondering swans. Could have been worse.

Mags, sounds like your DH works with wonderful people. Nice to have connections through your DH's coworker. Your doc was there at the right time. I am sure her discussion with DH helps him to better understand your situation.

Mommy, congrats on finishing your class. My DD turned in a 19 page essay this week to her professor. I am glad she is better at writing than me. There is no way I could produce that much in writing. Next week is final for her. I feel for the kid as she is trying to balance between school work and swimming. She has to keep above 3.5 gpa in order to continue receiving her academic scholarship. She does not have to swim for the college, but wants to with the hope of getting athletic scholarship for next year.

Ms. Spookie, our cranes look different here.

Saw it this afternoon while walking Mitzy.

JunieB, anxiety attack in the middle of the night? Poor you. You got some benzo right?

Loverly - Yes I do. BTW, how is Mitzy doing these days? I spent some time looking into pet insurance this evening and have concluded that I'd do better to put money into an canine medical expense account monthly and hope Kirby doesn't get sick for a looooong time. I just made that official sounding description up. ;0)

Your DD wrote 19 pages? Wholey Guacamole! I am absolutely awful at writing. It has always been a near impossible task for me. I do not know why I struggle so with it, but that's how it's always been for me.

Also, I had someone teach me how to do a screen shot on my phone today. How cool is that. If I keep this up, I might someday get to know at least half of what the younger generations know technically speaking. However, by then my phone will be so obsolete that it will probably be buried somewhere.

Anyway, off to bed now. I have plenty on my to do list for tomorrow. I am going to make Pho for the first time. The recipe looks really good.

Mags, I am chuffed to hear that your doctor told your hubby why you shouldn't travel right now.

Lover, I could never imagine having to write a 19 page essay. I have done a 10 page paper before for an anthropology class, that was the biggest paper I have ever had to do so far

The poor thing looks famish, Ms. Chevy.

JunieB, are you boiling beef bone for the broth? Does the Pho recipe include ginger, cloves, and cinnamon, star anise, and yellow onion? Ginger is good for the GI as it helps with nausea and digestion. I like alot of ginger in mine. If you don't use msg to sweeten the soup, you can replace it with carrots and corn. Don't cut them up in small pieces as you are only trying to draw out the sweetness from them. Good luck on the broth because that determines how good your Pho will turn out. My mom makes the best Pho and I am not bias

Mitzy is much better with visitors now. Still cautious but she doesn't hide like before. She will bark at people to tell them that she is not comfortable with them in the house at first, but it doesn't take long before she warms up and wants a petting. Still shows signs of PTSD when we walk near crowded areas, especially if there are screaming or loud conversations. Her skin condition was improving on the new food she is on, but then she was scratching quite a bit a few days ago. I have a feeling it was the fragrance oatmeal itch relief spray (now don't laugh) I spritz on her bed to freshen it. I didn't think that it would aggravate her skin because we had used it on her hot spots when we got her last year. But then she was already a mess with the skin problem. Maybe it was contributing to her itchy skin hmmmm

Thank you Loverly! The sun just peeked out for a bit. Happy to see it.

I don't remember, but have I ever asked if you give Mitzy Probiotics? Dr. Mercola has them for dogs and you just measure it out over their food. I bought some for my Kirby.

The Pho soup has all of the ingredients you said. It came as part of the Green Chef box I got on Friday. Everything is chopped, measured and ready for me to put together. I am looking forward to trying it.

    Awww! thanks Feline.

Lita - HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 YOU!

Hey there Chevy! How's your day going? Is it cold where you are today? We have gotten up to a balmy 47 degrees here :0)

At the rate the weather here is acting, our getting over the Columbia Gorge next Saturday is looking iffy. Ice on the road is a huge problem. Truckers by the boat load had to stop and chain up before entering the Gorge yesterday.

Alright, time to go fix breakfast. Catch you all later.
