kathy I did try BBC a few years back. Then forgot about it. Hmm I think it was in a very troubled time. Thanks I will get back to it. How do you access the Japanese news? What is NHK World news?

Loverly, I listen to Cain, Hannity, Dana when I can. They have their strengths and weaknesses. Cain and Hannity have many people they interview that are interesting. Hannity can get crazy sometimes, but I wade through the bullchit.

Sas, we get NHK World News through one of our PBS stations. It's all in English or translated if there is an interview. The Japanese broadcasters speak perfect English. They have added an American here and there like for the weather but I don't like them as well. Edited to add: NHK is like our NBC, CBS.

Jazzy love your storm door and gate.

Jazzy, nice doors. Good placement for the wreaths. Can you imagine an OCD person trying to find a "perfect" spot to hang the wreath I am not putting up outdoor lights this year. The more decorations you have, the more time you need to spend to put them away later. Trying to live more simple.

Loveroflife- I used to have this awesome yucca in my front yard that toppled over maybe 5 years ago and had to come out, but I used to string these really fun and festive chili pepper lights on it for about ten years! Now I have a tree out front on that side, but it is tall enough that putting lights on it may be hazardous to my health. Plus, the neighbors are saying people are STEALING their lights off their front yard again this year.

I am with you, simpler for the holidays is mo betta!

I watched him on Kelly & Michael, and he said he would put up a wall to keep the Mexicans out! HTH would anyone in their right mind even THINK of doing that? I guess you could only go, or come if you had a proper "pass-port"? And he said he would make the Mexicans pay for it..?? Now if he has THAT much money, HE should pay for it.... It's HIS idea! I'm ashamed of the things he says......... He is going to start a war with more people than he can imagine..........

That guy is smoking something.... I know some of his ideas might be good, but I remember when they put up a wall in Germany! Dividing the East from the West! It tore families apart, not to mention hurting everyone's lives...... My Brother who was in the Navy, got a piece of the Berlin Wall when it was torn down.... I remember people were shot trying to climb over the wall to get to their families.... Didn't Hitler have many of these same ideas? Wait..... yes he did...........

I was so afraid when I was a little girl..... The air-raid sirens.... the black shades we had to pull down, and my Dad being gone to Japan during WW2. If we could all just get along............ and no more wars, and dividing the people!

My friend Rosie came from Viet Nam.... and Loverly! She has a lot of memories growing up......... Oh well.....

Okay..... Sass.... Now DH thinks he could have Gout in his knee! Hah! He could.... And I made it clear that any drinking is not good for him, especially taking any pills.... so it's up to him..... He has had it before, and flare-ups finally went away..... He has had it in his foot, his ankle, and maybe now his knee! But even if he gives up and goes in for a urine test.... the prescription would be the same.... He won't take that one pill for gout.... we've gone through this before....

Eeyore, hahaha! The simplest of simple. How did you manage to get the picture hanging on the side like that? Maybe on the computer it looks different.

Mitzy has been acting really weird all day today. Not sure what is going on. She has been following me all day and at times just stares at different areas. Hopefully, we won't get an earthquake nearby.

Hip and left shin bone is aching because rain is coming tomorrow and this weekend. Who needs weather forecast? I feel bad for people with rheumatoid arthritis.

Ok, here's my crazy theory about Trump. I suspect he is just in the picture to stir things up, and will drop out close to the election. Now the question is, who benefits from his pot stirring? That I don't know. There's your crazy theory of the day.

Holeinone, what is the second picture of, with the lights strung across the empty space? Do they use that space for something? I am a clueless flatlander. The highest point here is 700 feet above sea level.

Mags, I agree about the beach. I think we should launch a fact finding mission to the beach, and investigate for as long as necessary.

Jazzy, in addition to your wreaths, I love the sun and cactus motif on your doors. I've never seen anything like that. Believe it or not, I have two yucca plants among the shrubs in my backyard. I never knew they were winter hardy this far north until I moved to this house, but there they are. If I can keep the bushes and trees trimmed back so that they get enough sun, they will even bloom. And as Spike (Snoopy's brother) pointed out, yucca is just a fun word to say.

Eeyore, the hat stealers must be the same people who are stealing lights in Jazzy's neighborhood.

Loverly: I have this puny bush on the corner of my garage door, so pathetic so I just sticked a hat on some of leaves last year. Apparently it caught someone's attention, and I have to replace 3 times last year. This one survived from last year. Here is a close-up how it hanging-on!image

sas, I listen to many many news shows. I can see past the bias and know what really happened. I like to listen to all sides. I get the picture then, even though they talk in circles. Trump brings up good issues that the other politicians would never say, cause the wouldbe ousted. Wouldn't vote for him, but I think there is a place for him on the podium. We need to talk about real stuff, politicians have a way of talking and saying nothing. It's a very scary time for our country, and the media makes it worse. They should all be ashamed.

Yes Susan..... you are right.... They all DO talk, but say nothing....or don't carry it out.... and yes.... they all should be ashamed....

Susan, if someone takes THIS hat, just put an 8 by 10 picture of it out there! Hah....!

Eyeore, is the hat hanging on a gardenia bush?

When we lived up north close to 40 years ago, somebody swiped about half my outdoor light bulbs. They came back the next night to get the rest. My 60# Belgian Tervuen heard them. I turned him loose, and laughed as they flew down the street. Then I heard the shorter one yell, dad, where are you!!

Pretty sure I know people who have gone to the Texas Back Institute in Plano. That was one of the docs in the link. Neighbor and other neighbor's DD have been to Baylor Spine Plano but they both had advancing scoliosis. It is quite a drive from here but Plano and all that area North of Dallas is a hot growing area.

Cubbie- I wish I had a good photo of that decorated yucca to share with you. Just looked in my pic files, but nada. I still have two red yuccas in my yard, but they are smaller and not the ones that are larger and tree-like. Yuccas are pretty hardy, it gets cold here in the winter and they do okay. My yucca got some kind of infestation. I lost two other trees the following summer. We had a wicked few years of heat and drought and they can make anything vulnerable, even with watering.

I heard this week NM is finally out of being in a drought for the first time in 8 years! Thank you El Ninjo!

Thank you for the compliments on the doors. The door and the gate are more for security than anything else. A few years back, some folks in the development started having homes broken into, mostly through doors being kicked in. Others got the doors first and gave me the name of this fellow who custom makes these security doors. Provides an extra layer on my front and back doors, and added the locking gate to keep people out of the backyard more easily. I tried to make them pretty vs. looking like a bunch of bars, and always felt the dressed up the house a bit. I found the design on line and he made them for me. I have been told they are the best in the neighborhood!

Eyeore- that hat is super cute. I hope it lasts!

Jazzy, I love your wreaths and your door and your gate. Very NM.

Sassy, I'm going to give this guy one more chance, since he didn't have all the info when I was there (he also ran a ton of unusual blood tests, some of which I couldn't even pronounce). But I will ask if he could refer me to a neuro who's closer. The lady my cousin takes to doctor appointments has a neuro in the same network but on this side of town.

We still don't even have lights on this piddly little tree. I remember when we used to put up lights outside, hang garlands inside, even electronic bells that were DH's mom's and we hung on a lit garland even a few years ago. And villages. We could have had a country, and trains running through it.

Insomnia strikes again. Nothing else to do, so here's another story with the same cast of characters: Rikka, the German Shepherd, Balto, the Siberian Husky, and Loki, the Heinz-57 mutt. This one is my husband's favorite "I told you so" story:

The usual nighttime ritual included Rikka making sure my husband turned out all the lights and locked the doors, with the other two more or less tagging along. The reward was a bedtime cookie for each dog, and in theory, they would settle down to sleep while we read in bed for awhile before turning in. Usually they would try to talk me into another cookie, being the soft-hearted sucker that I am.

One night, with Balto already settled down on a dog bed in the living room, Rikka and Loki were at my bedside trying to convince me that I should get up and fetch another cookie for them. I was being firm, saying "No, not tonight. No way." I was being strong, ignoring their pleading eyes, very proud of myself. When Rikka and Loki turned away and left the bedroom together, my husband laughed, "They're going out to get Balto, the sweet talker." I scoffed, thinking he was giving them too much credit.

About a minute later, Balto came trotting into the room, bouncing to a stop beside my bed, followed closely by Rikka and Loki who immediately sat down behind him. Balto gave me a big toothy grin and then proceeded to croon softly, "Arooo arooooorooo roooo", while the other two smiled innocently at me. I said "No" again. Unfazed, Balto crooned even more insistently with the other two all but nodding in agreement behind him. My husband was laughing so hard, he could hardly manage the "I told you so!", as I admitted defeat and got up with all three dogs happily following me to the kitchen for another cookie, undoubtedly doing a canine version of high-fives.

Hi Peppermint.... sorry little sister.... thanks for checking in.....

I woke up to no Internet! Now DAMN I said! So I ran the system restore.... took a shower while THAT was running.... Came back, and still could not connect! I finally disconnected everything from the modem, and it all came back...

Still don't know what happened.... could have been the high-winds we had around here, fooling with my phone line, or maybe some sneaky little program that came in... but I "removed" something I did not recognize, and will just keep Norton, and not the Malwarebytes or Driver update programs I had....

But at least things are okay..... I just get that sinking feeling when I am "out of touch".... Ha!

Got the no melt chocolate ready and I did not have beans for dinner lol. Be in your pocket Queenie. Seems everything I've had was an early morning call. Not sure I could handle afternoon.

Patty - Just plain good to hear from you. Lurk away.

Image result for big hugs image

Shy - that is the sweetest Balto story.

I finally got thru to somebody at Verizon. Ever try to find a repair #? We have buried telephone lines but they cross the creek behind me elevated. The pole is leaning at not quite a 45 degree angle (propped up by trees) and the line across the creek is entangled with vines, limbs and assorted junk. I was supposed to HAHA have a call back yesterday afternoon. Any local person knows this is the only bridge on this road and can clearly see the leaning pole. I don't think my 37 new neighbors will want their new service interrupted. Another builder got out and drove around yesterday but nothing else has happened up there. I would think water lines would come first at least the main lines. I think it's individual tying into the water service but all but one of the lots will be too small for a well.

Need to fly. Driving a Sunday School friend into town for lunch and her pharmacy.

Queenie, in your pocket, sorry, I am not sure what surgery you are having.

Cubbie, the photo with the lights strung across the flat area is a skating rink. They have world class skaters perform in the summer. It's busy year round, fun to watch. My DD took lessons there when she was a kid. Took the bus up with a group from school. We live 70 miles from this ski resort. Sun Valley.

Hello to all, Dutchie, a Xmas photo of the grand baby ? I almost lost this post, whew ! hate that
