Awww Rose, bummer about the fall and about all the troubles and challenges. I am glad you are up and about. Amazing that no bones were broken and your draining apparatus was intact (at least that is what we are hoping) after hitting the cement ground that hard. Tough decision about the Ibrance.....tough chess move. Have been praying for strength and grace for you. Sorry I didn't respond right away because of the heaviness in my heart....didn't and still don't know what to say to comfort you. It's ironic that I am here in what people called paradise, but I don't feel like it. It's not that I am not grateful. I am. It just seems so unjust that there are more and more boutiques are popping up here in Waikiki to satisfy the appetite of wealthy tourists, yet at the same time Hawaii is having more homeless people than before. It seems like evil people have long healthy life and continue to prosper while loving and caring people suffer so much. Okay, I am starting to sound depressing, but just want to share what I have observed. My wish for everyone here is that we all will end up in heaven when we are done with this short journey on earth.

Pattycake, listen to your doctor, young lady!! Have they tried Emend? It would be great if they could keep you hydrated at home, huh? You don't have to worry about picking up other bugs from the hospital. What does your MO think about Neupogen for your low counts? Hope you feel better soon so you can be home with the boys

Wren, I thought I was the only person who felt bad about Christmas stuff that didn't get purchased in time for the holiday. I thought it was just one of those weird things about me, but apparently I am not alone!

Susan, I like the expression Extra Grace Required people. I'll keep that one in mind!

Rose, glad you are recovering from your accident.

Loverly, there is a sad side to Hawaii, isn't there? One of my co-workers has relatives who live there, so I've heard a bit about the problems on the islands.

    Ay! Lost my long post.

Hey Cubbie! You are truly a night owl. Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas is one of my favorite too! I am weird also in regard to the left over or unpurchased Christmas trees. I feel sad for them...not to the point of crying like Ms. Wren though. You actually cry, Ms. Wren? Bless your big heart.

Jazzy, I looked up Gregorian Christmas Chant....love them!! Thanks.

So sorry to hear about the bad weather all around. It looks like it is going to be a cold winter for us too, Ms. Smaarty. It is kind of cool now on balcony of our hotel room. Feels like 75* with the breeze. I don't remember it was this cool in Hawaii in November last time we were here.

Ms. Sas, you are the second person I know who leaves the Christmas tree out year round. Hah! The cover looks like a petticoat...very creative. How often do you need to have it dusted? I like the cast iron clock. My decor is somewhat traditional with Thomas Kinkade paintings on few walls. I'm getting tire of the style, coincidently around the same time as the circulating news of his marital affair. I find the modern Swedish or Scandanavian style more appealing to me now. Less clutters means less things to dust and clean.

Ms. CHEVY, I did laugh when I read your post on the homemade compound. You are amazing! Bummer to have problem on long weekend holiday. Hope DDS can get you in soon. Oh, I LOVE the embroidered clock your dad made...such beautiful work.

Rose, I like Chanticleer, Anonymous 4, and John Doan. Family will complain if get Jessye Norman. She has a beautiful voice though..

Susan, love the "EGR" expression! Wonderful that you had a good time with family.

Goats, your goats are your babies...makes sense. Hope you get your heater fixed soon.

Ms. Spookie, congrats on your Christmas trees Where there is a will, there is a way.

Look what I saw at the general store...

I'm flying home Monday. I will miss the beautiful beach, the smell of Hawaii, the sound of crashing waves, and the lovely cool breeze. But there is no place like the comfort of home .

I'm up! I've been up since 3:30 watching my fever rise. Only .3 to go before I have to call the OncallMO. I caught a cold over thanksgiving and now my chest hurts and my temp is going up up up.

One thing about hospital is you can't sleep at all. As soon as you fall asleep, someone comes in to check your vitals or you are so miserable you can't rest. Morning Patty and Tres, sorry you both are not well. Tres, I hope you don't have pneumonia. Don't wait until you hit the mark. I would call the MO. Don't know why I woke up after a few hours of shut eyes and wide awake now. Very unusual for me.

This is Jessie a few years ago. She's almost 13 years old now. She's not doing well (damn cancer) and it's getting close to "decision time". It's going to be extra tough on DH as she's been his baby. Her care has fallen mostly on our DD who lives with us and it's getting almost impossible for her to handle - she & I both tried to get her to take her pain meds tonight, but no luck. Then DD had to give her a bath cause she wet herself. I sat in the puter room with the heater on plus I used the hair dryer on her as much as she would let me. It's been a looong sleepless night so far - 4:12 am.... I hate it when our pets aren't feeling good.

I've been lurking, as usual, and am sending healing hugs to everyone.

    Love, Martha

. So sorry to hear about your dog. I know we get attached to them like family. Our dog 13 years also has breast cancer. We refuse to treat it. I had a lab a few years ago that had cancer and we did treat her with 1 chemo. It did give us an extra six months with her.

Thanks guys. I have a call in and waiting to hear back. I hit 100.6 and made the call. My voice is gone and my chest feels like someone is sitting on it. I was sick for a few days but the fever is new...

Awwwwww Geez... I was almost getting happy with you guys, and then I see some of you are REALLY sick, and just not feeling well! You need to get in Tres...! Get some antibiotics FAST, because that chest stuff is nothing to mess around with.... Probably either Bronchitis, or Pneumonia, or some other thing like that!

And MMom.... I'm sooooooo sorry about Jessie... It sounds like our "girl" little Lacee .... She had a lot wrong with her... but you keep holding on because it is just too painful! And she would wet herself, and I just wanted to believe it was an accident.... and I didn't want to embarrass her... So you just clean it up.... then I would pick her up and carry her the rest of the way home, when we went for even shorter walks!

I took her in all the time.... for IV's for her meds, and no matter what we did, she just kept slowing down and getting worse... Finally, that last morning I drove her there alone... Left DH at the garage door, trying not to cry.......I had to carry her in.... but I stayed and held her until she "just went to sleep"..... I was with her.... so she wouldn't be afraid.... but she just laid there, like she knew........ Aw geez.......

Do you guys watch Dog the Bounty Hunter? A lot of the times they were either here, or back in Hawaii.... but you could see some of the parts of Hawaii that are having a rough time..... And it's been in the News here.... We see a lot of beggars at the Intersections here....but I guess that is everywhere....

And my Partial is GREAT! That's because I don't wear it! I'll call later today, and go in...... I know I can't wear it as it is.... something has to be done.... maybe he can "coat" it or something? Or re-do it? My lip is much better... doesn't "burn" or swell up. ANYway...... damnit!

Okay.... probably stay in again.... more snow of course... and that ice!

Mostlymom- your Jessie is a beautiful dog and can tell it is breaking your heart to know you may need to make that decision soon. I hope you can have some sweet time together before. Goodbyes are important, and will be for you and her. Hugs sister.

Rose- are you feeling better from your fall? I know the soreness can really set in a few days into something like that. I hope you were able to rest and feel better. Not sure if you can take baths with the device you have for draining fluid?

Loverly- when I have traveled to 3rd world countries on vacation, I have never come away feeling particularly good about the things I saw while having my own holiday experience. Unfortunately, much of the US is turning into a third world country with the haves and the have nots. I live in a city with a lot of poverty and see it every day. Maybe make a donation to something while you are there or when you get home? Sometimes seeing that helps us want to help.

I have a new contract coming today (after waiting a month) and have to turn some things around fast on that so wishing you all a good start to December!

Jazzy, Rosie, and Wren I loved them too. Hated that I couldn't use them. I should find the table that I bought them with, the were perfect together. The space was very small , I think only 8 ft wide. The table spread apart and the leave(f) was pulled up. It's only wide enough for place setting on either side. Almost no room in the middle for serving pieces. The table was glass, chrome and wood. I still use the table. Computer table by day and dessert /hors doevers for company. Very functional. I spent time looking for the table and then had a DUH moment--take a picture. It only partially does it justice. If you can imagine the breuer chairs around it. LOL another duh moment--put one of the chairs next to the table. I'll post it.

Wren THANKS, they're scores of places to buy replacement pieces. YAY. Your snow adventure sounds wonderful. Love it when someone sees snow for the first time.

Mema, I'm still on the eye thing. Can't think how many times you told me face. Okay I'm just worried about you. Hope the pain stops soon. :( Think New Years Cellebration with a new you :)

Cubbie the Kadinsky chairs were divine to site in. They molded to your body. Yes Rosie, I saw a used one in yesterday's looking for 2100$. It took guts to totally change your style, but so fun at the same time :) I think I sent condolences about the fall. Soory. Hate them.

The Breuer chairs have stood the test of time. 1928-29 and they simply will never go out of style.

Loverly, the cover does look like a ballroom dress. I put it in the dryer two years ago and some of the drawstrings broke. Bummer. It's about 12-13 years old now. Surprisingly not dust or dirty.

Smarrty, my tree dress is sateen. Would that have anything to do with why it doesn't get dusty. Maybe it's the place where it sets--airflow? You would have had such a laugh. I had the design in my head. My friend that sewed it took awhile to get it in her head even with a drawing. Once she got the 'picture' straight, her sewing ingenuity took over. She reversed the cuts for each panel. There was minimal wastage. We hung it off the central fan to work on the length and the gathering strips. I used an embroidery hoop for the top and placed it in a pocket like a curtain would have. When it was done I said to her that I thought we needed to add another couple of feet for the gathering strips. She later told me she almost killed me :) The material was high quality sateen and on sale for really cheap. My mistake is I bought bridal lace that I was going to dye for a lace topper. It's still in the drawer.

Trejoli sorry you are sick. Missed you. What's up besides your temp? We haven't seen you in months. I loved it when ya'll were talking in so many languages. Tres saw where you've called--good. Nasty bug going around. Viral, but if you haven't had the pneumonia vaccines it can very quickly be a set up for a secondary bacterial thingy.

Patty, a hospital bed is never a fun place to be, but awake in the middle of the night. At least you have us :) Patty soory about your dogs too.

Loverly, beautiful pics and that dog and baby pic mahvelous darling.

Mostly Mom Missed you too. Soory about Jessie. Such a hard decision, been there a few times. The emotional pain is gut wrenching. Bless you. Would love to hear some Jessie stories when you are up to it :) MM don't worry about trying to catch up we just want to see you more often :)

    CONGRATULATIONS Jazzy YAY new contract.

hate it when I wipe out a post. UGH

Had a great day thrifting. More glasses for Di to match the Claudia I already gave her. More Windsor for Nikki if I'm ever going to get her the rest. It's worked it's way up to a full service. Probably 30 pieces now. More Wexford for me.

The best was a candleholder I've been looking for, for 20years at least. It's simple relaxed, fun. I had one, and wanted the second one. Now I have three. Jeannette glass, Louisa pattern or JE37

2 Jeannette Glass Clear Double 2 Light Candlesticks Ribbed 1950-1955 Nice

tres - that just sucks. My oncologist is who I see for almost everything. I rarely see my GP. My oncologist certainly knows more about what is going on with me then my GP. I know mo always has to call if the fever is over 101. Now you have to wait till tomorrow? Boo.

    Jazzy . Yay new contract

Sas I am amazed at your intense knowledge of nearly everything.

Chevy. So have you actually seen dog and beth ? Dog is little old for my taste. But that Leland I could definitely see some of that.

At least I got a good laugh at myself today. I didn't sleep last night. So today I fell asleep hard especially with the pain medicine. I woke up and I drooled all over my hair. I grabbed my hair brush I'm trying to get out of my face but I had it upside down. Bristle side up. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't feel my hair. Took me probably a complete minute to figure out I wasn't truly bald. Oh yeah I did that with my adult diaper on. This I used all of my clothes in diarrhea accident. Any idea how hard it is to a diaper yourself? Let me tell you it's not easy. Was very thankful when my husband brought me some more clothes. Honey what we can find to be thankful for if we just look around.
