Oh Aly! I hoped this wouldn't happen but now it's there please stay warm and rest, rest rest! Take care you.
I'm heading off for my regular massage so I'll check back in later all.
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
Oh Alyson, so sorry to here that. Hope you'll be better soon.
-
Alyson, please take care of yourself.I echo the others, rest, rest, rest.
Chrissy,I had a massage today, too. Are you still doing the water therapy?
I head to the city tomorrow for another appointment with the dermatologist,oh fun!
DS has headed back,so it is very quiet again here.
Thanks everyone for keeping me company. -
Alyson..please take it easy and get well...
-
Alyson, take it easy for several weeks due to the pneumonia. If you push yourself too soon, you take longer to completely recover from it.
-
Nancy, I'm still doing the hydro therapy and go on Wednesdays.......your Tuesday.......so tomorrow is the day. I do feel so good after I see the massage therapist......she just seems to know where I need the work......lol.
Oh Lisa! Those tulips are just divine!!!! The color is so perfect I have no words......they took my breath away.
Yes Aly, I agree with Kath, make sure you take it easy for a few weeks not just a few days.........I know you, you will be champing at the bit to get going and get things done but please don't, for your recoveries sake.
Oh I did some browsing in a fabric store as I was early for my massage........I just can't help myself......lol. I found an exquisite book of wedding embroidery and now I just want to some of it. I must get the wedding dress train done first and if I have time, I will be able to do some of what I found.........nothing like having project upon project to keep ones hands busy!........lol.
Hope you are all doing well and those who aren't, I'm hoping you feel better soon.
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
Chrissy are you familiar with Beverly Sheldrake (sp) SHE DOES AMAZING EMBROIDERY AND i THINK SHE IS FROM EITHER nz ir AU . I met her at some Martha Pullen Heirloom Embroidery School. Her work is wonderful.
-
Yes I've heard of her and seen some of her instructional shows. She's from NZ and yes, she sure does some beautiful work! I can only look at her embroidery and sigh with envy......lol.
-
Hah my typing was in the dark on my lap.
I have tried some of the handwork and it looks really nice. It is very time consuming amd used in small areas is possible. So pretty.
-
I love doing the fine single thread painting work but there are techniques in embroidery that I would love to learn........even at this stage of my life. The one thing I've always wanted to do was ribbon embroidery but so far have not gotten around to finding so done who can teach me..........I live in a bit of a back water when it comes to crafts.
When I was recovering after the initial go round with this disease I embroidered some squares with different things from my garden and then made those squares into a quilt. The first time I showed it at the quilting guild here they all said it was done by machine! I was both offended and pleased at the same time........lol.......pleased that they thought it too good to have been done by hand and offended that they would jump to the conclusion that it wasn't. I got my love of thread work from my grandmother and I remember her telling me that when doing embroidery you should not be able to tell the back from the front. I'm still very particular about that and if I'm not happy with a project, I have been known to unpick it and start again.........I think I'm a little pedantic in that.......lol. -
You can watch TV recordings of silk ribbon embroidery and follow along. I bet you would be good at it. The close ups are so good that it makes it alot easier. Look online for it and I think you will find some that are useful. The ribbon is thin but works up quickly.
Good luck,
Ginger
-
Thanks Ginger, after I'm done with all the wedding stuff I'll have some time to do that. Even though I'm online a lot, I use the Internet very little to find things.......I guess I need to broaden my horizons and go searching........lol
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
Ginger, Chrissy - Have either of you ever seen or tried Norweigen Hardanger embroidery? It is counted thread type but with cut work, usually white on white and quite beautiful.
My grandmother was very good at it.
-
Oh Chabba, that is exquisite!! I've heard of it but never knew what it was nor the techniques for making it. There are so many ways of embroidery and lace making it makes my head spin!......lol. It's such a shame I didn't have the time to do all these crafts when I was younger...........just think of all the things I could have done!......oh my!!!!
-
Chabba - that is beautiful!! Did your grandmother make that piece?
Alyson - take care of yourself. Get well soon!!
-
I do have a few of Grandma's pieces but that is a picture from a site I found on Google. One of the pieces that I gave to my Brother is a tablerunner in this pattern.

Ginger

Kathy
-
I'm devastated! Mel you will be missed.
-
We also lost luvmyself (Jill McCormick),and Mazy (Anna Daly) to this efin disease.
-
May they rest in the internal peace of our Lord.
-
I didn't realise that i knew so many swear words because I have used them today. This disease sucks.
-
Words are not there to adequately tell of all that Mel has been through in the last few years, but just when it seemed like she was finally getting the medical attention she needed and was building a new happier life this happens. My heart breaks for so many that were involved in this tragic event.
To join the other in the sentiment to "Fly free dear Mel"

I'm so sorry to hear of this sad news. I lost contact with SV when y'all had to switch to FB, which I don't have. But I remember her for her generous heart, joie de vivre and the love of nature around her. May God Bless her sweet soul.

Sv Melissa was one of the first to welcome me here. Like heartnsoul I don't FB, so always appreciated news of her here after she had moved there. What a beautiful spirit she had, and what talent. A big loss.
