Isbella, so, so sorry for the loss of your furbabies!!! But I do have to ask, how do Canary's know when it's February??
-
Alyson, I DO so understand your frustration over having to use your stick. (Called my cane a stick for about 15 years!!! before I could finally say "cane") I use my cane so hard that it is affecting my right arm now and it's going to sleep! What the heck do I do now???

cleaned out my closets (again!!!) over the weekend. Got rid of another great big garbage bag full of clothes. Things were either to businessy, too small
or too big
. I'm trying to narrow things down to what I really really like and that's it. (also I was running out of hangers....)
-
Purple, do you mean you think you got LE in your fingers because of the sleeve you wear"
Barbesorry for the delayed response.
No no, I have not been to the LE therapists yet ( going this week) so no sleeves here. Just notiv=ced one day my rings were SUPER super tight.
Just noticed today I now have pitting ( chest) I am 5 mos out from LX. BUT I did notice ' soemthing at my 3 week post op but all the Harvard trained docs blew it off. Sure wish I had ignored them and fought harder to see the lE therapist...perhaps I could have caught this sooner. -
barbe. Canaries sing in February because it's the start of the mating season...they're trying to attract a female. Only males sing.
They are supposed to sing about 3-4 months , but mine have always gone on for most of the summer.
Isabella.

Today I have been a Granny, a daughter, had my 'birthday', danced to Swan lake and been a butterfly as well as having the living room transformed into a plane and been given lollies with the warning not to get sticky fingers. I am exhausted but it was fun. We also found a whole lot of lose change around the house - well $2.40 and bought some 'treasure' from the $2 shop. Miss Bea went home very tired after riding the trike up the road and back- it was her uncle's which we have kept. It has been a priceless day.
Starting to get sorted for our holiday but have so much to do with appointments the next three days. LE clinic tomorrow, I do need a new sleeve but won't get it before we fly but I do have one really good one.
Looking forward to some slightly warmer weather in Australia though it was lovely here today.
Big hugs to all
-
Oooo Aly your day sounds priceless!!! Lovely memories made for both you and Bea.
The weather here is still unpredictable, one day warm and the next few cool again.........what I call typical spring weather. Please pack a few warm clothes as I think you will still need them.
Oh Isabelle I'm so sorry to hear you have had so many deaths in your fur baby family........so sad when we loose those who have been close for so long. What's the word on your op?? Was all that sorted or are you still waiting? I sure hope not and pushing wardrobes around will surely not help it at all......bad girl! Do take it easy and take as much care as possible.
Well an early night for me tonight as last night was a sleepless one so my pillow is calling.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy -
Isabella, maybe yours go on singing for months because you don't provide them with a mate?
And then they just give up.....or forget....ehehehhehehee
-
Yep, perfect day all around Alyson!!! I look forward to the day that I can be alone with one of my grands!! Have only babysat ONCE in two years though I've been beggin to..sigh.
-
barbe....I will have a go at breeding all 4 legged things, but draw the line at birds! I was once left with quite a lot of love birds, can't remember how many, and no-one wanted them...I had to keep them all, probably about a dozen as I remember. That put me off buying any birds unless someone who knew what they were doing made sure what sex they were for me.
Isabella.

I get it about love birds!! We bought an orphan who'd never seen another bird, so we thought we would do him a big favour and buy him a mate. Well! Before we bought her he would sing, dance and whistle. A very happy bird. Then we brought in the female and watched as Zevon realized that this bird wasn't in the mirror and was real!!! We watched as he reached out tentatively with his foot and touched the new bird. His AMAZEMENT as he cuddled up to her and began to preen her and then the horror as she snapped at him with her beak and began to ignore him as she did for the couple of years we kept them after that! What a bitch!!!!!

Morning all
It is quite early here, DH has gone off down country for a meeting and as i had been awake for some time decided a cup of tea was in order. Have quite a lot to get organised today as we will have to be up even earlier as we are heading for Australia. Will be visiting Chrissy.
Had lovely evening with DS and fiancee last night. Managed to have some discussion about the wedding. Can see problems ahead. Have tried to tell relations that this is going to be a very small wedding with just immediate family and close friends because the venue is not large. DH comes from a family where such occassions are huge and the whole world is invited and some of my family are not much better so it will be a little tricky. DS and DF also want to buy a house very soon so are trying to save money.
The cats have decided that I am obviously not going to feed them despite having performed their morning antics- they have a play fight up and down our long hallway as well as races across the bed!!
Hope everyone is well,
Big hugs
-
Can't wait for you to get here Aly! Counting the days.
The discussions on the wedding of DD are yet to come. She has set the date of 28th Sept next year and she wants to have it here in the country..........not sure how many we are talking yet nor who but all will be revealed Nov 4th when they come for the weekend.
I plan on having loads of fun before the serious crap starts........lol.
I've started on the full sized shawl and I also think I will add either some crystals or pearls just to give it some real oomph.
Have a great day all!
Live n hugs. Chrissy -
Know you will have a fine time, C
hrissy..hugs from S. Cal.

Thanks Lisa. That Frangipani is gorgeous...........I can almost smell it's heady scent !

"Today I have been a Granny, a daughter, had my 'birthday', danced to Swan lake and been a butterfly as well as having the living room transformed into a plane and been given lollies ..."
This is why we love (and should SAVOR) life so very much. Thanks for the eloquent reminder of just how precious it is. -
What purple said.

Wish I could see them in reality.

Hi all
I am in beautiful Melbourne Australia, tired after a long day when we walked all over the city. It was warm and sunny today, tomorrow is supposed to be hot while yesterday was cool just as we had been warned.
Today I met up with a friend I haven't seen for years and it was so wonderful. Actually she was my chief bridesmaid but for lots of reasons we had lost contact. I knew she was here but couldn't find her address. Thank goodness for facebook. I found her son and sent a message to him. He replied within hours so today was really special for me and it was if we hadn't ever been apart as we just picked up where we were. We are having dinner with her tomorrow.
Think its time to take my feet to bed.
Will hopefully have photos when I get to Chrissy's place next week.
-
Alyson, so glad you are having a good time on your trip and been able to reconnect with old friends. I know Chrissy is so excited about your visit.
Lisa, I love the flowers and all the colors of the roses. One of these days I will make it out to see you. I am headed to FL next month to see BarbA and hopefully a few others will show up too. I know Shelley plans to make a connection while I am there, but not sure about anyone else. I am just excited about getting to see Barb again. I miss that gal.
Purple, thanks for the reminder. Enjoy every moment as it comes.
Joy and blessings, AJ

Gee! Where is everyone! Just stopping by to check in and nobody is here!?!?!?!
-
Hi all!!! Been busy knitting like crazy.....lol......as well as being a social butterfly. Went down to the city to my niece's engagement party and then took my DSIL home to Wallaroo and ended up staying overnight and an extra day........well you see we got talking and well........we had so much to catch u on that we only stopped long enough to get a little sleep before continuing on. We only stopped when I realized that the whole day was done and I still had an hour and a half drive ahead of me.......lol. The rest of the week will be taken up with cooking as I have goodies to prepare for my DD's engagement party for extended family which is thes coming Sunday and then Aly arrives on Monday.......yahoooo!!!!
So.......as you can see I've been and will be a busy bee for the next week but will try to pop in somewhere in amongst all the to do.
Hope you are all well!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
Chrissy, so glad to hear all the happy goings on around you. Have fun but let yourself get too tired! I know you will enjoy the engagement party with all the family and the visit with Aly. Remember I am coming to see you in 2013, probably Feb or March. Not too long now, time is flying by. Love you, AJ

Everyone sounds like they're planning great trips! Enjoy!
My DD is expecting her 4th baby very soon, and just found out it has to be a C-section. The baby is transverse (means that neither the head nor the tush is down, the baby is sideways) so they're no other way. They'll be doing surgery on Oct. 30. Even though this is a common procedure, surgery is surgery and it's worrying.
Leah

Leah - praying for your DD and the new grandchild. I know the worry about DD's and the things they go through as they live their lives and become wives and mothers. Still pray for my DDs everyday, guess that never changes no matter how old they get.
-
AJ, it's so good to see you! I really miss you when you're not here. It's not too early to get super excited about your trip--it'll be here before you know it. I can't believe it's so close to Christmas already and no, I haven't shopped yet at all. Before I retired 3 years ago, I got "longevity pay" every year in October and that took care of Christmas, among other things. No such thing now!
Alyson, so happy you're having such a great time in Australia. And friends like that are so special--my best friend lives in Texas and we talk about once a year, and each time it's as if we'd never been apart.
Chrissy, sounds like you're in a whirlwind now, but a good one! Keep having a good time and enjoy both the party and Alyson's visit, and let us hear all about it when you can.
Leah, worry is what we mothers do best, isn't it? Honestly, I think a mother's worry increases with the age of her children, or it surely has with me. C-sections are so prevalent now, though, and I'm sure everything will go fine, plus you'll have a beautiful new grandchild to love! Soon!
DH will be home tomorrow night from his annual Outer Banks fishing trip and I'll be so glad to have him back--7 days is a long time!
Hope all are having a great evening!
-
Just checking in to see what is going on around here. Guess everyone is living life, so hurray for us. Got the results of the chest MRI and there are no siginificant changes so that was good news. Made my BS so happy she was almost literally bouncing around the room! Had CT and more labs and will get those results next Wed. Let the good news keep coming.
Kathy - hope you are enjoying the return of the great fisherman (DH).
Have a good nights rest everyone. AJ
