Marybe... I loved your story too.  I'm a terrible procrastinator.  That story works for procrastination too.  If I would only do what I need to do then I could forget about it instead of carrying it around.

Sorry....I made my post just due to some similarities to different thoughts posted and thought there might be some perspectives.  I did not have anyone here in mind what-so-ever.  Be more than happy to delete it.  I have been gone all day  and home for a quick dinner and back to work.  Thought you might find it interesting is all.

IIlinoisLady.....Glad that it was just a coincidence of posting.  Munchhausen syndrome is an interesting disease.  I was amazed when I first saw it on a TV show.  Munchhausen by proxy is even more disturbing.  Then again doctors that water down chemo drugs to increase profits is for the normal person unthinkable.  We have all seen all of these things happen.  So glad it was just a subject matter not aimed at anyone.  Hope you had a nice dinner and get a longer break from work soon.

SeaFoobs it was a pharmacist that watered down the chemo drugs not the doctors. Do a search for: Robert Courtney. He is in a federal prison, release date: 11.20.2027

Don't need to do a search.  I believe you.  Still disgusting scenario.

Evening -- today was our Spay-ghetti dinner, silent auction, bake sale and cake walk.  It is an all day affair.  The workers start early in the morning.....and by 3 in the afternoon we are cleaning the hall.  I volunteer at our no-kill shelter here.  On the board as well.  Everyone said it was great this year.

I, as well on a  daily basis, help a friend who needs cleaning and help with her animals.  So that came after the dinner.  Then it is home to my menagerie.  Never a dull moment.  A few tired ones now and then.  I'm fortunate to be able to do things I enjoy so much -- well, ok, cleaning house everyday for someone else is a stretch since it is 365 days a yr. but in general when you can be productive your morale is good because you are contributing to life.

Hope you all have a great night.  It's going to rain here, lots of lightning....maybe some hail, and possible tornadoes.  I think it is the beginning of a wild March.

    Lago,

I dont know what to say about that pharmacist. I often wonder why each of our brains is hardwired so differently that doing something like that would even be a thought.

IllinoisLady, It has been very ick weather here for several days. Hell, winter has just been brutal. Looking forward to spring and would like it to start tomorrow.

A new week, and a new month. Hopefully a good spot for all! Cool

Immarybell, I think that is a common misunderstanding and misconception. Some people have different understanding over what is discussion and different opinion and what is argument.

For some different views/different opinions= argument.

That certainly happens, but it's not a given.

I also find myself curious as to how some people see and view life in very black and white terms, and how others see all shades of grey.

I sometime find it amazing that the human race has made it thru literally millenia (sp?)

There is a book titled "The Psychopath Next Door" by Martha Stout.  it explains a lot.

Hmmm, sounds like an interesting book.  I think I'll have to go find  a synopsis somewhere.

I'm trying to decide which person I am Marie....black and white or a lot of gray or grey.  I have some flexibility so therefore do have some gray, but I'm very black and white in other ways because there is need for order in so much of what we do.  Lots of life is just common sense rules, but I think that also depends on how willing you are to follow rules.  Not such easy answers here, huh !!!!  Interesting.  Just some thoughts here -- no one but myself in mind.

Here I am bringing up the rear.  Pokey puppy that I am.

I just wanted to tell you that it took me nearly all day off and on to finish reading this thread.  And I'm glad I did.  It's a pleasure to be in the company of so many wise and sensible women.

A while back I reluctantly quit coming here because it was having an effect on my peace of mind to bump into the occasional unkindness and the equally disturbing and much more lengthy turmoil which grew from it. It looked like the trolls were getting fat and happy from all the attention being given them.

I checked in today and this thread caught my eye.  Sometimes this stuff can be like an trainwreck for me - I stop to see if I can help and end up gawking.  Heh.  At any rate dwelling on it, and I can easily get hooked, does me little good.

I'm a strong believer that the majority of the healing I've been called upon to do in my life is more psychological than physical.  And I don't heal well when I am frustrated, hurt or angry.

Uncomfortable feelings can be like poison for me. So I've worked on learning how to avoid those situations and when I run into them, how to do the things I need for myself to lay those feelings to rest pronto.

My life's work involved dealing with groups so it was crucial to learn to take responsibility for my feelings about people in the group and do something about them.  The feelings - not the people!  'Cause, heaven knows, one thing I've learned is that nobody makes any adjustments to their behavior on my account and the only person I have control over is myself.  And that on some days is as much hard work as I care to do.  Too true to be funny.

You've talked about quotes here.  This one taught me quite a bit.  It's from Eleanor Roosevelt.  "Nobody can make me feel inferior without my permission."  Whew.  I had to admit that when someone did something unkind to me it did make me feel their inferior.  And all the things I wanted to do to get back on even ground with that person were cruel things.

When I "got even" I began to realize that I was becoming the very thing I was fighting!  (That's a Nietsche quote.  "When you look into the abyss, the abyss is also looking into you.")  Yikes!

Don't know if I'll hang out here anymore or not. I like to save my energy for healing and I've been wasting it dealing with unpleasant feelings I don't have to gather. Anything I spend time thinking and talking about I give a great deal of power to and I like to keep my cancer starved as much as I like to keep internet trolls starving.

I have yet to learn how well that works with cancer, but I know that ignoring a troll, "long, wide, deep and frequent" eventually shinks them down and blows them away with the wind.  Laughing

Again, thank you.  This thread had some fine and soothing soothing posts.

    Edit:  for spelling.

Anjanita......I so adore quotes, and sometimes they seem to say the same thing I was thinking only a whole lot better.  I put quotes in daily on a thread here at bc.org and so enjoy the time I spend looking for them......getting to read many so as to find the right one.  I truly enjoy hearing someone say how appreciative they are when one really touches them.  I am big on daily affirmations, but don't use them for the posts.  I do often put in small poems though.    I think I like the one that says something to the effect of "always be a first class version of yourself, instead of a second class version of someone else ".

I've truly enjoyed my time here.  I did not know there were such a thing as Trolls so felt I learned a great good deal.  Do feel I've recognized some after learning to understand  what I was seeing.

I pretty much agree with your psychological ideas which is why I try hard to stay  positive.  I know people have said being positive is rubbish and does not work but for me it does.  Being negative which is the polar opposite surely is not the answer.  Up-lifting quotes, positive affirmations....alone they don't have a lot of steam, but I'm up for anything that can inspire and build up hope that will help me get on in life and grow in whatever way I can.  I am only on this Earth for right now so if I put enough good, happy, wise, inspirational and therefore positive thoughts, ideas, feelings, and good things together.....I don't think it hurts a thing.  In fact, I think it also does wonders for my  karma.

P S 's  to say if I thought about this a little longer and wasn't typing it after having just gotten home from working for 12 hours I'd have probably said it more clearly.
