Great pictures Deb. I don't have any of mine on line. I guess I'll have to fix that.

No dinner tonight. We had a 4 o'clock lunch and then I took care of the lawn sprinkler system after it cooled down from the 106F high temperature.

It's been a busy week..4am to 10pm every day. And joy of joys, on Monday I get to attend a coronation....at the dentist's office...for one of my teeth. The dentist is good with the local anesthetic, so at least only my wallet will feel anything. :-)

Tuesday through the following Monday will be the same schedule...so it too will be busy for us.

Eric- Was wondering where you have been, now I know.. 4am to 10pm? Wow how do you do it! that is some really long days you are working. Would love to see a pic of you since you are kind of our manly man around here (lol) who fixes everything, bakes, cooks, cleans, does canning and does so much for others-

I have pigged out all day and really over did it. Dh works until midnight on Saturdays and was bored I guess. I made bacon and eggs with hasbrowns and toast for breakfast, for lunch I had a BLt- For dinner I had a cheese burger and just finished chocolate ice cream Ughh! My stomach hurts...

Hope every one is having a nice weekend

I could probably find some old picture, if not as an adult, at least from childhood. I think one of my friends has a scanner but neither she nor I have working cameras and even though my trac phone takes pictures I can't figure out how to upload them or even if it is capable of doing so.  I'll keep trying to figure something out.

Recently I have bought 4  cameras.  My husband borrows them, takes pictures and then loses the

I am going to make a ton of pesto this afternoon.  I went to the market and bought 8 bunches of basil (i'll stop by the store and by a big bunch of parsley or two..  The 2 8 yr. old sons charged me full price (1.00 a bunch (the mom usually gives me a couple of somethings for free), and they had a little argument about that.  I gave them each an extra dollar to shut them up.

As I deteriorate (a bit) i am happy to see my husband and kids step up to the plate.  They don't really care tho if the dishes and laundry are not finished.

I went to a fall festival last nite, and by the time i caught up with my boyscout hubby - jumping around and carrying glasses and plates for everyone I was almost crying.  Someone must have said something to him because he has been very attentive since Friday evening.  He means well (he just has an inner boyscout inside).

Maybe I'll find a camera and take pics of the pesto process.  I grind the basil, then nuts and garlic, add olive oil and parmesan, salt and that's about it.  Thank goodness for food processors.  By the time I'm finished, I have a HUGE bowl.. good for gifts and the boys eat it like it's peanut butter (I might have said that already earlier).  We have enough leftovers so that I don't have to do any cooking whatsoever.  I'm driving 45 minutes to Baldwin KS to play my Sunday service (S). The priest was in a head on wreck with a truck so he has been recuperating from a concussion.. it was pretty bad.  I bet he comes back to day.  I hope so.  7 cars were involved in this wreck caused by a drunk driver in the country up in Utah.  idiot.  Except for his consussion, I don't think anyone else was really hurt.  He's been out for about 4 weeks.

I find if you put the picture on your FB (if you are on FB) right click on the picture, choose Copy image URL, then come to this website, click on the little tree picture, click on the long space there, paste, then click on the small box that will put the size of the picture then submit.

Wowza kidsandlabs, wish I was there! Last nights dinner was sausage and peppers, the last from the garden, with fried potatoes leftover from Friday night's salted potatoes. You were absolutely right about them Michele. We had a light frost last night, but my biggest most protected basil plant survived. I think I'll follow apple's lead and make pesto before it gets zapped. Since I'm in leftover mode, tonight's dinner will be chicken and leeks with the leftover roast chicken. I love using up leftovers. Hope everyone is having a beautiful Sunday.

Apple- Thats nice to hear your DH is being attentive and helpful. So sorry about your priest and his accident, I get so angry when I hear about people driving and drinking we never ever do that, If one of us wants to drink then the other won't. I always say no taxi is to expensive. Hope he is healing well and was back today.

Beautiful pictures Deb- I have tried that way before but I think my problem might be using firefox, When I had my old computer I was able to D/l pictures was never sure how I did it because sometimes I could and somtimes it wouldn't work. I guess I will have to pick a day and just work on it.

    Kids- Your breakfast looks yummy

Nancy- I will have to try those salt potato's you all make them sound good.

Tonignt we are going out with our friends whom have been gone to VA for almost a month these people are amazing she is only 69 but George, her DH is 85 and he can dance up a storm like no one else, and he has an amazing voice, just love them. Not to mention they make US feel young lol!

    Kidsandlabs - oooohhh, that's naughty!

My DH decided that we should go out for brunch this morning, since DD spent the night.  So we ate around 11 and I told him we'd be having popcorn for supper Laughing
Deb - your pictures are fantastic!

Michelle, I actually live about 60 miles north of St. Louis county (small town no one ever heard of), and our temps run 5 to 10 degrees cooler than the city. I love popcorn for dinner :-)

((((((Apple))))). I am sorry to hear you're not doing so well. I know you are not one to complain. Hope you're feeling better,

I hate this f($&9&ng disease. A woman, Reesie, who I met for dinner last summer died last month. I was looking for her and found out. Just a little bit ago, she thought she was doing really well and this seemed to come out of no where and take her so quickly. She had just turned 49 in July. Not fair at all.

We had our family over for a birthday celebration for my DD tonight. I cooked a turkey, mashed potatoes with bacon, garlic, butter and onions, and sweet potatoes. I don't know why I always overlook the turkey. It is always dried out. Not too badly, and everyone said it was good. My DH made squash and leek soup with roasted apples. That was really good! We had mango cheese cake too, not homemade though.

Love to cook, sorry about your friend. F*ckn bc!

Tonite I had broasted. DH did not come home this weekend and ivwas lonely, so I took myself out. I was thinking fried shrimp, but the broasted chicken was only 9$. And I ordered baked French onion soup for 1$ extra. I saved the breast and the potatoes for lunch tomorrow, so very reasonable. at least I was surrounded by people for a meal. Much love.

I hardly have time to post. I spent the afternoon at my mom's place getting the plants & trees trimmed. It got dark before I could finish. I should finish with it next weekend.

My wish came true when mom and I were shopping. They had small pumpkins, so I got one to make a couple pies.

And finally ((((Apple)))) and to everyone else.

Oh, Apple, so sorry that you are struggling. I hope your pesto making marathon gave you a happy focus for the day! (((((Hugs)))))

Took a trip to our Farmer's MArket again today and got another huge basket of tomatoes, which I will roast tomorrow and use for an interesting sounding pasta dish that I am making for a friend's potluck dinner later this week. Having roasted tomatoes around is kind of like storing gold! Also bought the veggies to make ratatouile again. Our Town Farmer's MArket is new this year and is held on our church's front lawn...quite lively, since folks from the church always play music while people shop. It was mobbed today. DH keeps challenging himself by buying hotter and hotter peppers each week. We'll see how he does with this hotter selection!

Tonight we ate grilled marinated steak tips, corn on cob, fresh Italian tomato salad, and sweet/sour cuke salad.

Deb  thanks for the beautiful pictures...you are a beautiful lady, inside and out. Soo funny on the pumpkin poo.

Prayers and much love to you Apple.

Eric  I was whining (just a little) when our temps were in the 90's here, but now that we have dropped to the 60's I am missing the warmth.

Not much cooking here...spent the day in bed yesterday with a stomach bug..lots of the big D!  had a fever and body aches and a major headache....not sure where that came from. My best girlfriend sent me some homemade chicken soup. It was supposed to be salsa making day at her house and I had to bow out, she carried on by herself.  I felt so bad, cause its a lot of work doing all the chopping.

Lacey  I thin its a guy thing with the hot peppers.  My son likes to find all kinds of hot sauce that claims to be the hottest out there and put it on his wings.

    Red Savina Habanero pepper.

They aren't very useful for cooking. They *are* good for making people decide to quit saying, "Nothing is too hot for me."

One pepper in 6-8 quarts of salsa is on the edge of too hot.

Well i made more than a gallon of pesto.. that should last a year. - 3 big containers (6 cups each).

tonite we are grilling pork steaks and veggies.. noodles with pesto probably, on the side.  for sauce, i just had water and make it into a slurry rather than a paste which is hard to distribute thru the noodles.

Hi everyone!  Looks like this thread has been really busy as usual.  I've been very remiss in reading and posting, but hope everyone is doing well.

Deb those are beautiful photos, and Apple, saying prayers for you.  So sorry about your priest.

The weather is beautiful here...into the 40's last night so fall is definitely here in the mountains!

I got the all clear on my mammogram today...one year from my original suspicious dx that led to my bc surgery, so it was a milestone.  I had one sort of scary moment when they put me in a private room to wait for the radiologist.  I thought OMG...now what...but he came right in and told me all was ok.  I almost cried I was so relieved!

    Have a great day everyone!
