Big hugs, Michelle. So terribly sorry to hear about the bad results.
-
Aww dam Michelle, I am so very sorry. I hope you are able to do the clinical trial and see lots of improvements. Saying prayers and good thoughts your way. You are right, it is very shitty!!! ((((hugs))))
-
Debbie, you have a lot going on. ((((Hugs)))))
-
Crapity Crap Crap!
-
So sorry Michelle {{{{HUGS}}}} Dont give up!!! there are lots of good things going on in trials.
-
-
Michelle, I agree with Deb... Crap.
Eric -
Aw, sucks. Michelle, hope you get the trial you need. Much love.
-
Dear God:
These are my friends, whom I love and this is my prayer for them
Help them live their life to the fullest.
Please promote them and cause them to excel
above their expectations.
Help them to shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love.
Protect them at all times, lift them up when they need
you the most. They will always be safe.Love you Guys♥
-
Geez, I am sorry Michelle. Just not fair. Crap is a good word for it. I am thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way.
Deb, I am thinking of you, your DH and dad too.
Tazzy, I didn't realize you just had a BMX. It sounds like you are getting good advice and doing well. Hope you get the drains out soon. Be good to yourself. -
Michelle: So very sorry to hear about your progression. You say you are still feeling fine..I would hold on to that as miracles can happen. Sending you prayers!
Laurie: What a harvest! The veggies look yummy
Debbie: Sorry you dad is having to go through that. Prayers for your family..hope your DH is ok.
Tazzy: Sounds like you're healing is coming along.
-
Tazzy....good to hear that you are taking good care of yourself, so you can get those drains out asap. I have to go back and check the quinoa recipe....sounds good.
Michelle.....I guess crap is about as clean as I can come about that stinkin news.
(((((HUGS)))))!!!
Debbie, glad your DH is getting totally checked out, and ((((HUGS)))) as you cope with your Dad's condition.
Laurie, love your garden/crop photos. Yes food is ridiculous these days. I can't imagine feeding a young family. When our boys were young I used to coupon a lot.....but yes it took time and discipline not to buy things you had. great coupon for but didn't need!
I had a long meeting today with one of my teacher colleagues to help her understand the needs of the kids entering her class ( since most of them were my little clients:), ......then got physical (and very dirty) weeding a very overgrown bed in the mud afternoon heat. Must have burned a few calories. Was thinking it would rain tomorrow and I'd miss the chance to get it done....and a section of the weeds were making their way to my next door neighbors yard. Yikes! After four hours, it was still not finished, but DH promised to finish it tomorrow. I'll let him. I made myself a healthy smoothie for dinner since I was hardly hungry.....needed a long shower more than dinner. -
Yup, crap it is! But there are clinical trials and a long list of chemo concoctions to be put to the test. One thing that I'll have to work on is weaning off metformin. The Boston Dana Farber oncologist wants me off it so I can qualify for more trials. If you can be in control with diet, then you are not disqualified. And their idea of control is a lot looser than what one would consider "normal" ranges, so I can probably do it. I'll just have to cut back on watermelon, cherries, corn, and the other starchy stuff. And continue the bike riding as exercise will help.
I went to my DD's tonight for Chinese food. It is always fun and we sang our karaoke song list with the kids, it was fun. Nothing like grandkids to make you forget your troubles!
And thank you all for your love, positive thoughts and prayers! You have no idea how much it means to me!
-
Michelle, I guess I'm like Ralphie in Christmas Story... Crap isn't exactly what I said when I read your post.....
The thread is sure moving fast....which is good! I appologize to those I miss.
Debbie. I shake my head when I think of the load you are dealing with right now...whew....
Taz. You sound like Sharon. A couple of days after her BMX, she was walking around the neighborhood and feeling pretty well...when her drains were pulled, she said she never felt anything except the surgeon's hands and a sense of relief.
Deb. Are those the supposedly mild peppers in the picture?
Good night everyone.
Eric -
Michelle, I am so sorry about the stupid progression. Big hugs.
-
LOL, Eric - that is our most favorite Christmas movie!!!
-
Ours also on the Christmas movie...laugh every time.
Deb I have been pulling in roma tomatos also, finally had enoug with some of the beefsteak ones and made a small pot of sauce last evening, had it over cheese raviolis and green beans from farmers market.
Need to find an activity for tonight as it is raining and calling for storms later. tomorrow is a reisling festival LOL I guess they can make a festival out of anything!

Novena notification update:I unintentionally made it sound as if the novena was just for Frank. Franks change of condition triggered us to want to do a novena. The novena is for all of us on BCO and others that are added by members. The link below goes to the working copy of the combined list of intentions,If those unfamilar with a novena would like to take a look and see how it's being put together. The next paragraph is the first intention.
Dear God---May all, of many Faiths, come together in prayer and support of each other. Jesus Christ,Mother Mary , and the Holy Court of Heaven, hear our prayers for all the sisters and brothers of BCO in this there time of need. Strengthen them and their families and let them not despair. Heal them if you will, or guide them to understanding and acceptance of your plan.
community.breastcancer.org/for...
So, if you want an intention added for you , or someonelse please PM me any time now. Probably should put this link in your favorites to refer to on Aug 14th. At this point we are leaning towards ST Peregrine Patron saint of Cancer as two members are willing to take the intentions to ST Peregrines shrine near Pheonix Az.
Sorry for muddling up the first communication. It all seemed logical at the time. It was only after multiple messages received that I realized the problem Thanks for your involvement. SAS
The prayer that will be added is said once a day and the intentions are said once a day

Debbie.. you could have your dad try Olvatine.. it's easier to stomach than Ensure and has many of the same nutrients. best of luck to you dear.
as to peppers.. i MISS hot. really miss it.
-
I am trying to grow Red Savinas again...twice as hot as a regular habanero....
It usually takes a triple dog dare for me to eat one....and I don't say fudge. :-)
Sharon's 3rd RAD was today. She's getting the sunburn look and she says it stings a bit.
Eric -
Michelle- Your right, there is nothing like grand-children to lift your spirits, I love that all your family spends quality time together and has fun!
Apple- I havn't drank Olvatine in a long time and used to love it. We are going to visit my dad Sunday and I will take him a Jar of it and see if he can drink it, it sure would taste better than ensure! Thank-you very much!
Carrie-What better things to do when it's raining than go to a wine festival lol!
Eric-Hope Sharon heals fast from her Rads, Some of the ladies here could probably give you tips on the sunburn as a lot have done the rads.
-
What is weird is the sunburn effect is on her right side....and they are (hopefully) irradiating her left side.
-
Eric, on.another thread they recommended "my girls" cream. I am sorry I can't remember who recommended it, but it wad more than two people. I am on do many threads I lose track. But Google it, you should find it, they really liked it and said it helped. I will search and see if I can find more info.
-
Eric, I used vitamin-E oil from my local pharmacy after every treatment and every evening, it worked well. Alot of the women that were having rads when I did swore by emu oil that they got through Amazon.
-
Michelle, I couldn't be more dismayed about your progression if I'd known and liked you all my life. I feel as though I do know the brave women (and Eric!) on this thread. It was so wise of you to move near your grandkids and other family members as you fight this battle against bc. We should all remind ourselves that we have only the present and we should make the most of what's happening NOW.
We're having another gorgeous mild day here in the MN north woods. We went into Park Rapids for the Logging Days celebration and watched chain saw artists create really marvelous sculptures. There was also a loon calling contest! And venders and craftspeople. We'll go back tomorrow, too. The scultures will be auctioned off. Plus there are other contests pertaining to logging.
Dinner tonight is leftover eggplant parmesan, sauteed yellow string beans and leftover pork roast. My DH is the easiest man in the world to please when it comes to food.
Things are busier this weekend at Pine Hollow Resort. There's a fourwheeler club occupying the three condos. What a sight it was when they unloaded all the fourwheelers from huge trailers. There must be ten or twelve couples and every person, women included, drives a fourwheeler. I don't see the attraction of riding on rough trails and scaring all the wildlife, but each to his own.
Speaking of wildlife, we have beautiful deer in the woods around here. When I was walking today, a deer crossed the street, actually a county highway, ahead of me. And yesterday there was a beautiful doe and a spotted youngster across from the entrance to Pine Hollow. These deer look well fed. Come winter, they will be prey. Each to his own. I like looking at them.
Happy Friday to all.
-
Carole, that sounds beautiful! I am glad you are enjoying your vacation! This is Kay. I changed my name because of some people from work that I didn't want to recognize me. Hopefully I won't confuse people here too much.
Pizza for dinner tonight. We got take out from a new place, and it was the best pizza we've had any where around here.
Eric, I used aquaphor during rads. It worked great for me. I know a lot of other women use it too. Only problem with it is that it is very greasy. I was putting it on right before rads though and the techs told me I was putting it on too close to rads and it could actually cause the radiation to deflect a little. They didn't want me to put it on any sooner than a couple hours before rads. And not as thick as I was originally putting it on either, but I put it on as thick as I wanted after rads. It really protected my skin and I am very fair. It was the brand recommended by my rad onc. Did I hear you say you had a daughter just starting high school? My DD starts high school right after labor day. I am quite nervous about it.
The nipple reconstruction went well. I am quite pleased about how it looks. I don't know what I was expecting, but it exceeded my expectations. No pain either. -
Today is her 3rd day of high school. She's in the what is called "the IB program" It can be described as an advanced placement program with an international "flair". Arizona has always started school early..but then school is done in mid may.
She is the one who wanted that..and she knows it a lot of work.
I can't say I'm nervous...It's more of a "where did the time go...it seems like yesterday that I was holding her for the first time" feeling.
Thank you everyone for the cream suggestions. I will pass them along. We're both surprised that she's getting the irritated sunburn feeling after the 3rd treatment...especially since this problem is on the side that is being not being irradiated. -
Those are my tomatoes similar to a plum tomato, much meatier than a regular tomato. I have a lot of basil, thyme, 2 different types of sage, parley, rosemary, lemon balm, anise hyssop, sweet margoram, Cleome, roses, hollyhocks, dill and fennel.
-
luvrving - So sorry to hear about your scan/progression news, crap is right...
For all struggling with issues - sending hugs to you!
