This is NOT from Onion, NOT a joke, but REAL:

Vulgar birther fraud appearing with Paul Ryan tonight

Donald Trump is hosting a special event for Romney that's closed to the press, for some strange reason

    BY ALEX PAREENE

Good news, bad news, everyone. Good news is, Donald Trump is doing a Mitt Romney campaign event tonight in New York, at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, with Romney running mate Rep. Paul Ryan. Bad news is, it is completely closed to the press. The fact that it is closed to the press seems to indicate that the Romney campaign doesn’t want to draw attention to the fact that a beloved and renowned businessman like Donald Trump is endorsing their campaign, for some strange reason. The event is not technically a fundraiser, because, as Zeke Miller explains, the funds have already been raised. It is a special “finance event” for mega-donors who enjoy being spoken to condescendingly by a ridiculous fraud. Not making it a real fundraiser also gives the Romney campaign an excuse to exclude the press corps, despite the campaign having agreed months ago to allow pool reporters to attend most fundraisers. So, sadly, unless some person is taping it, secretly, we may never know the content of the “brief remarks” Trump is expected to give tonight. Will he talk about his many bankrupt casinos, or will he simply babble racist nonsense about the president’s college transcripts? Actually, judging by Twitter these last couple of days, Trump’s remarks could cover any number of subjects, from how only fat people drink diet soda to the role living in a Trump-branded building plays in the performance of star baseball players.

Trump is still America’s most prominent birther, and the Romney campaign is perfectly OK with that, I guess. But not quite OK enough with it to allow outsiders to hear anything he says tonight while speaking with the Republican Party’s vice-presidential nominee.

WR - that is my head behind him, and I am 5'9". So yes, he's a big boy but doesn't have a mean bone in his body.

I really don't care what Trump has to say. He's irrelevant, insignificant, and morally and fiscally bankrupt, many times over. Having said that, maybe one of the waiters, aka "takers," has a smart phone. All of the takers have government-provided smart phones, including this Republican-who-votes-for-the-smart-guy.

Kam, the tea partiers have NO SHAME!  Just two examples below:

"The head of a northeast Ohio charity says that the Romney campaign last week "ramrodded their way" into the group's Youngstown soup kitchen so that GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan could get his picture taken washing dishes in the dining hall."

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/wp/2012/10/15/charity-president-unhappy-about-paul-ryan-soup-kitchen-photo-op/?tid=sm_btn_fb

    -----------------------------------------------------

"But as part of the Republican majority that has controlled the House the last two years, Mr. Issa joined in cutting nearly a half-billion dollars from the State Department's two main security accounts. One covers things like security staffing, including local guards, armored vehicles and security technology; the other, embassy construction and upgrades. In 2011 and 2012, President Obama sought a total of $5 billion, and the House approved $4.5 billion. In 2009, Mr. Issa voted for an amendment that would have cut nearly 300 diplomatic security positions. And the draconian budgets proposed by Mitt Romney's running mate, Representative Paul Ryan, would cut foreign affairs spending by 10 percent in 2013 and even more in 2016."

You can post all the supported facts you want, but if it ain't Fox News, it ain't news. It's just a pile of facts.

Romney did the same type of faking with a speech in front of coal miners.  The coal miners were ordered on stage by their boss and were not paid for the time away from the mines.  It is really sad that Republicans have these two for candidates.

According to Politifact only 27% of Ryan's statements are true (9%) or mostly true (18%). 51% of Ryan's statements are False(9%) or Mostly False (36%) with 2% of those rated Pants on Fire.  No wonder Biden was LHAO.

Belinda...here is more info on the potwashing photo op by Paul Ryan

(The stuff liars are made of)

"He just came in here to get his picture taken at the dining hall.”

Brian J. Antal, the president of an Ohio charity for the homeless, is objecting to a photo op staged by the Romney campaign on Saturday that featured vice presidential running mate Paul Ryan washing pots and pans that had already appeared to be clean, Felicia Sonmez of the Washington Post reports:

“We’re a faith-based organization; we are apolitical because the majority of our funding is from private donations,” Antal said in a phone interview Monday afternoon. “It’s strictly in our bylaws not to do it. They showed up there and they did not have permission. They got one of the volunteers to open up the doors.”

He added: “The photo-op they did wasn’t even accurate. He did nothing. He just came in here to get his picture taken at the dining hall.”

Judging by what I've been reading elsewhere, you'd think Mexico and Canada will become red states too.  haahahahaha  The Idjuts squared are now at the 10th power!

This word defines the duped ones on the other side.

    Distortion!

Sandy, how are you today?  I am so ready for my acupuncture treatment tonight at 6.

Blue - How does one go about finding a good accupuncturist?  I asked my PCP a year ago and she was not aware of anyone in our area - suggestions?

I am feeling remarkably well this morning even though I had a good stiff drink last night and these days a good stiff drink leads to a hangover.

On my way out to my volunteer job at the hospital - the girls I work with are my "family" here so it's a good place for me to be - also it's a good source for chocolate!

    Good morning, Sandy . . . here's to chocolate!

And also to hope, both personal and political.  A FB friend posted a link to a commentary in the Guardian that I really, really liked.  It's primarily addressed to the anti-electoral left (you know - the people for whom no candidate is pure enough, so let's just maintain our own purity by saying "screw them all"), which I don't think describes any of us here, and may or may not describe people we know, but it's still well worth reading.

    I especially liked this bit:

"We are facing a radical right that has abandoned all interest in truth and fact. We face not only their specific policies, but a kind of cultural decay that comes from not valuing truth, not trying to understand the complexities and nuances of our situation, and not making empathy a force with which to act. To oppose them requires us to be different from them, and that begins with both empathy and intelligence, which are not as separate as we have often been told."

The author also has really smart and provocative things to say about the nature of hope.

Here's a link to the full piece:

Our provincial premier stepped down last night and prorougued parliament.  Good grief!!!

It is a pretty morning out here in my woods, but I didn't do it....Fall and the creator did.  I do note though Ryan's clean pans.  I told my husband this morning....what a marvelous human being---doesn't mind pretending to wash dishes, but he did not wish to be anywhere near the place and look into the eyes and soul of those who find it necessary to be fed at a soup kitchen.  How morally bankrupt can you be?

This would be my same feeling for people like Donald Trump.  Vulgar, disgusting, hideous are just a few of the adjectives that pop into my head and that is before I even allow myself to start having choice.  JMHO but these people who display such a huge lack of empathy and compassion have lost a part of their soul some how.   Money, power, prestige have taken up residence -- none of which can last.  They give up what money CAN'T buy and become shallow and empty.  JMO.....but that is what I see when I look at Ronmey and company.

Back to work today.  Didn't want to mention it yesterday but I went to the V.A. hosp. for my 4 month cancer check-up.  Everything still showing ned.  Fingers crossed.  One more yr. on Arimidex.

Leftist Era, that was a GREAT essay in the Guardian! And so very true -- the people who say "there's no difference between the candidates" aren't paying attention. Or worse, they are and are willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater. The kind of country we want to be really IS at stake in this election, and to flounce off in a huff because Barack Obama isn't someone's idea of perfect is to let everything you abhor come to fruition. I don't have to like everything he does (who does?) but he will take the country closer to the direction in which I would like it to go. And I believe he is a principled man. I have seen no evidence of principles in Mitt Romney, and the only principles I see in Paul Ryan are the principles that the rich deserve everything and the poor are that way because they don't work hard enough. Not even close to my principles -- or the objective truth.
