I don't need to have one until June but I'm already having the heebie jeebies!
-
I have to have one next October. I get to have them every 2 years because of my cancer history, and the fact that I had a polyp last time. Yay me!
As far as sitting, when I did my prep last time, I just set up my station in the bathroom-books, magazines, and a pillow to put on top of the clothes hamper so I could nap. Nice.

Good thinking Mary ... sometimes you just gotta go with the flow so to speak

Sandy LMBO! The honky tonkin dogs. Maybe we can make a youtube and it will go viral!
-
Oh the thought gives me the willies. I have never had one, but the DR. is asking this year to have it done.
-
kira-the actual procedure is a piece of cake. It's the prep the day and night before that's no fun. After the prep, it was the first time in years that I was able to slip my wedding band off of my finger. That's how much fluid I lost.

HELP - the SIL is here - he's eaten most of the food in the fridge just in one day!!! I told him he has to ask permission
Just now, he wanted to play with Lego!! I told him I worked really hard to get the house ready for Xmas and he is not allowed to. It's like having a child here - I'm not in a good mood. I had forgotten how to cook for more than 2 but dinner turned out OK.I'm on holidays!!!!

Kira, definitely follow the soaking directions .... I didn't, just once, and had to throw the thing away. If you follow the directions, it will be well worth it. It will taste GREAT. The soaking will get rid of the salt, and the smell. Also, change the water every so often.

Glenna_E, Thanks for the info! It's been soaking for 12 hours already, just changed to water. The smell is already gone.

Wishing our redheaded spitfire a very very Enjoyous birthday!
Kira ... hope the ham turns out to have been well worth the trouble.
Susie ... LOL ... and just how old is this SIL? Maybe you need to find him some chores to do to keep him busy. And yep it sometimes seems like it's holidays for everybody but you.

Happy b'day E. SPECIAL DAY is such a great thing to celebrate.
Speaking of something not to celebrate - I have years of experience with the dreaded colonoscopy - as I "did" colon cancer b4 bc. Only needed surgery, but stil was not fun. Looking back, I call it just a "shot across the bow" compared to the hassle of bc. Anyhooooooo....for all those interested in my "secret" preparation: eat so, so, so "light" for a few days b4, plain bread(no seeds), soft scrambled eggs, very little food and LOTS LOTS LOTS of water. I now only have to drink a few glasses of the Dreaded Liquid ( AND, I keep a lemon drop, or something sweet nearby, with a wee glass of plain water to sip a few mouthfuls, and suck on the candy a bit) between glasses of the Dreaded Liquid AND, here's the best part - only have to drink a FEW GLASSES of the stuff to begin to ( sorry this is TMI) "poop yellow liquid." Never have to drink it all, cuz so little in my system to remove.
Really is the only way I can deal with the procedure anymore. Granted, I have about 10 inches less large colon than most, but still, it's the way I suggest to friends and EVERYONE has said it is SO much better than having to drink the whole gooooooooey liter of the stuff.

Happy Birthday Enjoyous!

I just received an email that someone had added something to KK's memorial page. I think of her a lot these days.
-
Happy Birthday Enjoyous - may there be many many more.
The SIL is 29. I can't believe he wanted to play with the Lego!!! He is a simple soul however and wouldn't hurt a fly but he can be really annoying.
I was so tired yesterday but didn't end up going to bed until 10:30 - at least I managed to sleep in. Today I have to go and get the rest of the food required for Xmas. I can do the prep work tomorrow. I'll take Annie with me and the boys can do their own thing.
We saw a really nice swimsuit at my favourite cheap clothing store yesterday - I want to go to one of their other stores to see if I can get it in my size - the fabric was gorgeous!!. Will do that first and then stop for the groceries/veg after.
I'm glad I'm having today off - gives me just that little bit more time to get properly organised.

E - Enjoy the Day!!!!

Happy birthday Enjoyous.
My computer has been down all day. Well everything came out okay(sorry) but she found a couple of polyps so I wait again to be boring.
My prep was to take 4 Dulcplax and then mix Miralax with Gatorade-64 ounces of Gaterade. I wasn't too wild about the stuff before but I never want to see it again.
I thought my son would be here Saturday with his family but he will be here tomorrow and Jen will see how my house looks when it is not cleaned for company. I was so tired today. My DH and DS will be home all day tomorrow. They might actually clean.
-
Rosemary-It sounds like your doctor does the same exact prep mine does. It's no picnic, but it does sound a slight bit better than the jug of stuff that others talk about. I, personally, could go without seeing lemon gatorade again. The nurse actually said to pick a flavor that I didn't like so I wouldn't ruin it for me forever.
Here's to BORING polyps. I had a couple last time as well, and they turned out to be boring. The nice thing is, even if they aren't completely boring, they're out, out, out!

Rosemary .. I had boring polyps as well. It's time for me to have another colonsocopy too. I have to go every three years.
Has anyone seen or heard from our birthday girl today? Been missing Enjoyous!
hugs to all,
Bren
