    Hi Girls!!!

We're awake - can't wait for breakfast. Interesting the comments were removed - never should have been allowed. Haven't had time to look lately - better things to do.

E - love your tag line - LOL

Limerick looks ok - although I've only seen the inside of a pub so far :)

    Pip - What Blue said!

    Waving at Susie!

'Morning, everyone. It seems to be a mild-ish August from the point of view of the weather and I definitely feel as though my body and soul are one again (or to the extent that they can be....) You can actually breathe when you go outside.

I am in the grip of the wonderful book "The Emperor of All Maladies". It is a history of cancer. Superb book, which I highly recommend.

    Thank you everyone.

Michigan has a bill in the legislature to ban Sherrya law. Silly because nobody here wants it.

So do you think Medicare would pay for our scooters?CoolCoolCoolOops wrong kind of scooters! I am so embarrassedEmbarassedEmbarassedEmbarassedthat I could make a mistake that is sooooooooo stupid!EmbarassedEmbarassedEmbarassed(Do you think that many smilies is annoying?)

I thought I had an appointment at the cardiologist tomorrow but it is today. It is a good thing that they called... It isn't until late this afternoon so I will pick up some dinner on the way home. Probaly Mexican. Not exactly health food but the best choice that is on my way home..

Sugar - So great to see you again!  Please stick around - we're wacky but we welcome everyone!

PiP - I just about passed out to read that someone doesn't care for Chocolate Embrace.  Are they from this planet?  Are you sure?

Susie - If you stay in Dublin and you have time, I highly recommend an evening of "Food, Folk, and Faeries" at the Brazen Head pub.  You have to make a reservation and it's a bit pricey, but worth it!

Athena, Great Den Mother, my brother just recommended that book to me yesterday.  I hope it's downloadable to my Kindle.  Terrific weather, isn't it?  It was almost...almost...chilly yesterday morning.

Rosemary - Spelling alert!  It's spelled "Sherria" law.  As if any religious law could ever overwrite our own law.  I'm all for terror and paranoia, but it's so wasted on this particular non-issue.  Psssh.  And yes, that many smilies IS annoying!  InnocentLaughingWink  Good luck at the cardiologist today!

To everyone else - good morning, starshines!

I'm so happy you all had such a good time and enjoyed each other so much. And, thank you for bringing back (didn't the border guards notice?) Canadian weather for the rest of us!

    Alpal,

The border guards didn't notice that we smuggled Canadian weather in our bags because HL mentioned "breast cancer" to the guard.  His face went blank and he couldn't shoo us across the border fast enough!

BWAHAHAHA!  Yes I did.  He asked (snarkily, IMO), "How did you come to have friends in Niagara-on-the-Lake?"  I said, "Well, we (indicating E and myself) are breast cancer survivors, and we met up with a group of other breast cancer survivors in NOTL for a luncheon."  His face went slack and then blank, and he blurted, "Did you see any shows?"  I said, "No, we didn't have time" as he handed us back our passports and said, "Have a nice day" or something inane.  SCORE! I certainly upset him!  DH is pretty angry about it -- as a former Customs inspector, he says that the question was highly improper and I should write a letter of complaint to the Port Director.  Me, I just shrug.  ETA:  CoolInnocentKissTongue outWink

But we did successfully smuggle the weather back here!

HL, I wish you would smuggle some down here. Still the normal 92 degrees. Oh well. Come October through May, you all will be hating me. Congrats on winning the doctor jackpot!

I was so tired after the trip I slept 10 hours Sunday and 12 hours last night! Wow.

    Morning Everyone!

The Canadian weather hasn't reached southern VA!  Was in the low 90's yesterday.  It was beautiful on Monday when I got home, and I was able to open all the windows for a little while. yay!

Barbara .. No wonder you slept so much .. we crammed a lot of stuff into 1 1/2 days!  For some reason I was up last night at 2:30 a.m.  Couldn't sleep.

Happy .. Our border guard only wanted to know if we were carrying any booze!  Maybe we all looked like we needed a drink that morning.

I have lots of work today .. so yay for me!

    hugs,

    Bren

I"m still cracking up at Blue ( sleeping with them) "stoppickingonme" has got to follow thatSurprisedInnocent

I PROMISE PROMISE to Love Chocolate Embrace, 'n case anybody wants to invite me to dinner.

Athena, I jsut started reading the paperback edition of the same book!  AMAZING.  Really is fascinating, and are we ever lucky to be in 2011 - and not 1960.

Also just got my new Boston Red Sox Jimmy Fund T shirt - so am ready for Camden yards if anybody is driving tht way from MA.  Promise to cheer for O's too ( I used to live in DC, remember!)

Sunshine today - after 3 days of rain - about 5 inches!  Wish my friends in Texas could have gotten some of it.  A friend sent me a picutre of a botle cap, upside down, empty, and called it a Texas rain guage.  Very serious stuff happening there...

Hope all are getting their recipes together for our BCOB&G book. Tongue out Ok if you wanna include rutabagas...

Suzie, if you have seen the inside of a pub is there anything else you need to see?!

That Canadian weather hasn't quite got here yet either. Here in my part of southern Ontario, Canada, there will be a humidex of 91F this afternoon.

There are several wineries who produce ice wine - it's all called ice wine and then you pick which producer you want. I got some yesterday at a small family run winery while on a wine tour in the area near where I live. At another family winery I had a lapse and bought a bottle of wine that the husband created in honour of his wife who had breast cancer. (We all should have had a DH that D). Apparently she is doing very well - and the wine has a pink - what do you call that thing at the neck of the bottle. I tasted it first and it was good.
