LOL, I'm here, Blue, drooooooling - it was the backlava that finally got to me ;( Had to towel dry the keyboard. So glad you all had a happy time. We held down the fort here, well, pretty well.
Barbara - natural estrogen suppression regime - you mean you aren't taking the "little white pill."? I shake with fear at the thought of stopping it - brrrrr.....I scare easily.
-
Barb - puttanesca?! Wash your mouth out with broccoli!
-
E - your tag line is really cracking me up ;-) I JUST love it. All the "comments" hve been removed from "that" site - but postinig still allowed....tra, la, tra, la...
-
Ah geez .. I wish I had my leftover pizza for dinner tonight! It was so good.
Sue .. glad you're having a wonderful trip.
I better feed the dogs and do some foraging in the kitchen.
hugs,
Bren

Hey NOTLers,
Tell me more about icewine. Is it only in Canada or can we underserving of anything wonderful in the lower 48 partake of it?
-
Canada makes the very best icewine in the world, and you can get it at hugely inflated prices in the US. Your local wine store should have some.
-
You guys do know what puttanesca means, don't you?
-
no, but it sounds sexy:)
-
I was right ;-)))
Origin of PUTTANESCA
Italian, short for alla puttanesca, literally, in the style of a prostitute -
YEP!
-
OH, my gawd, I can see it now - this thread is going to be accused of promoting prostitution. Just watch....anyone wanna bet - sorry - but it is funny!!!!!! Gangsta prositutes....are we not?
-
Enjoyful,
Ice wine is wine made with grapes after they have frozen on the vine. That is why it is so sweet =:0)
-
On our scooters!
-
Guess I should be the NOTL event for 2012 on my calendar now!!
-
sewingnut - it's the best! I went to the icewine festival a few years back and it was amazing. I have to do that again one day soon.
-
Ice wine is wonderful. However, I could not help but notice that Linda did not bring out the Chocolate Embrace.
Can't say I blame her. She got me hooked on it a couple of years ago. I am very stingy when it comes to the bottle I have hidden. We are having friends over this evening and I am "thinking" of sharing a bit. Maybe not...
-
Well, here is my bit of history. Icewine was originally from northern Germany but having had German icewine and Canadian icewine, I am a total rabid fan!! LOVE it.
Next year, we will bring icewine and sip with our chocolate cake in honour of KK and Olga.
-
Geez .. I'm getting hungry and I wish I had my leftovers from dinner while at NOTL. The food was so good both nights, and the buffet at the luncheon was wonderful.
It's so quiet here with Tim gone. Just me and the dogs. I sure do miss everyone.
hugs,
Bren

Hugs, Bren!

Ahhh, Chocolate Embrace -- sorry, Pip, I meant to bring it out and forgot! Anyhow, Chocolate Embrace is a blueberry-based wine made by a local winery (Sunnybrook) that specializes in fruit-based wines. It is infused with Belgian dark chocolate and is SOOOOOOO good!Next time, I promise!
-
I will PM the mods for the photo ids. Security concerns very prescient, IMO.
E - that tag of yours....are you on SCREEN SHOT DETAIL????

HL - You have a deservedly wonderful doctor. The best. I tell, you, bc surgery is not all bad. Whoever thought we would be in for an insurance-financed beautification project on our tummies? It seems as though The Plan is going very well. Will watch out for E's updates. Let me know if you feel like anything else...
E-Barbara: I am flexible for the 16th aside from my morning Dr's appt, and I can go to Barbara's hotel, so why don't the two of you agree on a time that is mutually convenient and I will join in?
ETA: I don;t know why the writing changed like that.
As for puttanesca - I speak fluent Spanish and always feel wierd around that word!
-
E - your tag line is killing me - it's like your inner warrior is coming out.
HL - glad you had such a good meeting with your doctor - glad that E will be with your DH to keep us all informed - such a long surgery BUT such fabulous results.
It was wonderful meeting all of you - so much fun but for such a short time.
Sandy

(((((((HappyLibby)))))))
Somehow I missed your report about PS this morning -- we were cross-posting, I guess. Anyway, SO happy you are so happy with him! My fingers will be crossed for a whole week, I do believe!!!!
Chocolate Embrace -- sounds unbelievably good! Two fantastic things: chocolate and embracing! Well, we had plenty of both, separately! Might have been too over the top to combine them!
Sandy, it was so great to meet you! More time, next time, I hope!
Athena, I'm PM-ing you the "figure legend"!
Love to all!
-
Blue
GP's on our scooters. Perfection. Wearing our BCO tee shirts (Bren's will be pink) all others may be green, blue, yellow....
Hope all you well FED women have a lovely night's sleep - I'm still hankering for Baklava!!! Sounds like a GP cookbook may be next on the agenda. Sweet dreams all....
-
Wow....this thread moves so quickly and lots of interesting conversations. I don't know if I'm full or hungry.

BarbaraA - your pizza looked so good but oh, I could go for some of those delicious crab cakes at Sculley's at St. John's Pass!
It was so nice to meet all of you on Sunday!
-
Sugar, it was so great to meet you!!!
-
Libby
Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ann-What a great roommate!!!!!!!!
Did anybody get a screen shot of that dirty pizza talk? If so send it to me. I need something to keep me warm at night.
-
Well, I think a friendship just ended tonight. I served my guests some Chocolate Embrace. He declined (thank you at least for not wasting it!) and She didn't think it was that great! Geeez!
-
Some people!
-
Rosemary, I'm sleeping with it tonight. You can have it tomorrow. OK?
