Happy Birthday Libby - enjoy your celebration tonight.

Happy Birthday Libby! Have fun tonight! Can't wait to see you this Saturday.
love you,
Bren

Happy Birthday Libby!
-
HL do you know where you are going tonight (if it isn't in DC, I won't either:) )?
-
Yep, we're going to Ray's the Steaks (at Courthouse). You probably know it -- it was all the rage a couple of years ago when it was just above Rosslyn on Wilson. Ray's Hellburger is in the old space now -- Ray's the Steaks is now in the Navy League Building. They have a nice prix fixe menu special of 2 small filets, appetizer and desert. Yum yum yum!
-
Happy birthday, Libby!!!

-
((((((((Blue)))))))), good luck at the onc!
Athena, glad to hear you're feeling a bit better -- hope all better soon!
-
Happy birthday Libby!
Athena I hope you are feeling better.
Blue and Cindy good luck at the doctors.
giving cats pills is an exercise in futility.
-
OOOOH, purty! Thanks, Ann! I love cake -- it is the perfect delivery vehicle for icing, which is the perfect celebratory food. I was gleefully and lustfully horrified to see that my favorite grocery store sometimes has tubs of icing in their deli section next to their store-baked cakes ... I guess for those who want a little extra or who want to ice something else .... (er ... no comment). I didn't buy any, but I did linger to look for a bit!

I would kill for a good filet mignon. Hope you have a wonderful dinner Libby.
Sewingnut - the mental hospital was covered by insurance. You have no choice in the doctors that are assigned to you. Anymore than you have control on who your anesthesiologist is, radiologist, etc. I know they are trying to just get money out of me - people will always try.
I met with my oncologist today after I met a PS. I have elected for now not to do any type of breast lift, etc. It is too invasive in my mind and not worth it. The oncologist is sending me for an echo this afternoon as I have a systolic heart murmur. Don't know what the heck that is but I guess I will find out. 3 doctor appointments in 1 day - I am wiped out already!
-
((((jancie)))) Hope we didn't make too much noise in your bag.
-
(( Jancie )) Three appointments in one day is 3 too many!
hugs,
Bren
-
Happy birthday, HappyLibby!!
I wish you an amazingly speedy surgical recovery, excellent reconstruction results, and a year's worth of birthday cake (minus the cake)!
-
((Jancie)) I'm with Bren...3 too many.
-
happy birthday Libby!
-
Forget it. Someone else posted after that.
-
Athena, I got an email from 'that site' yesterday asking for me to rate them. Interesting.
-
CIndy and Barbara .. I got the same email yesterday. I read the review by M. Botts. O.M.G. what a review. I didn't write a review for their site, just read a few of the ones posted.
Bren
Edited: It appears he logged on twice to prove a point.
-
Just got back. Have to go for another ultrasound and we will take it from there.
Tired! TTYL!
-
Blue - hope you come back later tonight!
I have to sign off for a little bit as I need to go get that freaking echo done on my heart. Right now all I want to do is lay down and go to sleep but am scared that I will sleep through the appointment.
-
Jancie, I'll wake you up with a roar. Blue - ugh - I hope the US is just routine?
-
Happy Birthday Libby - hope you enjoy your dinner out
I'll be checking in from time to time while we're away - a baby laptop is going with us.
-
Athena, I have a fibroadenoma in my good boob they have been watching. I want it out, but my onc wants to take another pic of it first. It didn't show up in spot compression mammo last December, but did on ultrasound. Since that was right before my brain surgery, we put it on the back burner. Had another ultrasound in March and there was no change.
-
Just got this email from the review site:
Please accept our apologies for the delay in response. We assure you that we are aware of the controversy surrounding the reviews written on the Breastcancer.org page and are working to come up with a fair solution that both allows reviewers to share their honest opinions, and discourages people from abusing the site.
Solution??? That will be interesting.
-
Happy Birthday Libby.
Feel better Athena
Blue and Cindy, have good doctor appts. Or are they over now?
-
Ok, Blue, so long as it's something planned. I was just afraid that they had spotted something new.
That review site is getting its just desserts. I can't see a human presence anywhere. If I were a drug trafficker laundering money, that would be an excellent gig to use as cover-up. Same goes if I were a regular tax evader. It really does look like a shell corporation.
-
Athena - see what I responded to the email - I PM'd it to you
-
Ok, I am just slightly more suspicious of greatnonprofits.org now. On the site, go to "About Us" then go to "donate." Under "Donations to greatnonprofits are tax-deductible" it says:
*GreatNonprofits is committed to transparency. You can read reviews about us here.
When you click "here" you read all the reviews talking about what a sham it is - lol!
But that is just an aside. Here is the reason why I am more suspicious: If you go further down that page, there is a link to the IRS Form 990 - for the year 2008 (latest they have). Or so you think. When you click, you get taken to a completely unrelated page.
It would be awful to think that any hard-working organization's credibility could rest on what is written in a cyberbot like that. Really awful.
-
And they noted my IP address on the one I got.
-
Very interesting Blue - I'll Pm you what I wrote back too
