Ellie - nice to have you back. I've no idea, but it is very suggestive.
Rosemary - good luck with your meeting. Your boss sounds a bit obtuse.

Welcome, Lost_Creek - I like etymology too.
-
Lost Creek - can't wait to find that book!!! I love it. Have you read, An Exhaltation of Larks. Not vulgar at all, but fascinating!!!!
Expect all the Brits know how we got the word POSH. For those going out to serve in India ( The Raj) of course, by huge steamer, it was Very Important to have a cabin which was:
Port Out, Starboard Home - to keep as cool as possible in the heat.
-
Thanks for the welcome, all.
E- Now that you know the true "Roger", I think it's apt as everything but a conjunction, and even then I'm not sure. In my world, you can pretty much use it with impunity.
ETA: CS- it's called "A Classical Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue" by Captain Francis Gross (Grose), Edited by Eric Partridge. I got my copy - it's a 3rd Edition - from Beard Books (they sell Law books
) online.Hours of reading giggles.
-
L_C
Amazon has it
Published 5/2010. It's on my wish list. SO GLAD you've added your wisdom to this thead!! -
CS, Wisdom: Maybe you have me confused with some other LC - I do that sometimes too...
-
LC
LOL. Lets you know the things I think are important in life. Besides, you got yours from Beard Books? New thread, a public thank you to thenewme, not posting link, only for those who want to say POSITIVE things.
-
Thanks, C-S. I saw the thread, all of it so true (so far, anyway!).
L_C - I hope you stick around and post early and often. We do get silly sometimes, but we do have fun. :-)
-
I eavesdrop on you ladies every now and then. Came here first as this thread was so often on Active Topics. Now that they've tried to hide it and make you seem like some kind of subversives, I've added it to my Favorite Topics. Got a chuckle this morning about the chat about code words. It reminded me of my confusion when someone was talking about pushing a chicken cutlet inside her bra! I thought that was going a bit far with the food talk. It was only after someone asked if it should be cooked or raw, and the original poster explained, that the penny dropped.
-
Welcome Mary and Lost Creek! It's great to have you here!
Morning Everyone ... can't seem to get myself moving this a.m. You guys were busy last night with the code book. I thought it was top secret! The cat is out of the bag now.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi Mary! I'm glad you added this thread to your favorites. I always have a lot of fun here.
How do I not remember the cutlet-in-the-bra discussion? What was the consensus - raw or cooked?
-
Posted twice by accident.
Bren
-
You mean....the Omega-13 is out of the bag?
-
OK, I'm lost , not unusual, took me forever (FOREVER) to get the fly/lightbulb - but chicken cutlet???
-
I don't get it either. I just want to know if it should be raw or cooked when you stuff it in your bra. I can't get dressed for the day until I know.
-
Enjoyful: I'm not sure that the chicken cutlet discussion was even on this thread. But one of the Australian subversives was involved (Susie I think), so I thought it might be an Aussie thing. I tried searching for "chicken cutlet" but came up with a mix of mouthwatering recipe mentions mixed in with women stuffing the darn things into their bras.
Yeah, raw or cooked ... or another option would be frozen.
-
Frozen would work in this weather! That way, dinner would be ready after I finished work.
-
Some women refer to the gel type inserts that you put in your bra to even out your breasts as cutlets. They look exactly like the boneless skinless chicken breast meat you get at the grocery.
-
tee,, heeee...I never would have gotten it
TY, IJBCAngel -
I think in this weather I would prefer the frozen cutlet. Although I'd rather have a pork chop than a chicken cutlet. I hate touching raw chicken! Plus, once it heated up, I'd rather eat the pork chop.
Arghh .. Why am I always so dang hungry on this thread?
Hope everyone is enjoying their TGIF.
Bren
PS .. I'm so happy, Mr. Tim will be home in a couple of hours. He's been gone for two weeks. Yay! We have an exciting weekend planned with a trip to the dump! ha!
-
If you ever get to Western KY, go to Patti's Restaurant. Their two inch pork chops and boatsinker pie are better than mad monkey sex! Food porn!
-
I LOVED going to the dump. Such interesting things to see..... Most importantly was to stay out of the way of the bears!!
-
Sewingnut ... I love going too. It sounds so silly, but it's a beautiful drive along country backroads and we just enjoy the scenery and the company. I don't think we have any bears though.
Iron .. Those chops sound wonderful. Yay for food porn! Which is code for I'm so hungry for lunch, I could eat a little piggy cutlet!
Bren
-
You guys are funny - my Mom used to go to the dump with her boyfriend and shoot rats - if you knew my prim and proper English professor Mom you would crack up imagining this!
-
Ellie .. the target shooting sounds like fun .. and everyone hates rats. When I lived in Iowa for awhile, we would take all the guns down to the river and shoot at floating logs. I don't look like Annie Oakly either, but do love to go shooting!
hugs,
Bren
-
I used to skeet shoot when I was younger! I was pretty good too.
-
IronJawBCAngel: what exactly is a boatsinker pie? And 2 inch pork chops? I'm in!!
One of my favorite things on this tread is all the Food!! LOL -
MaryNY - I would love to know more about this.. Not only am I missing a boob, but I love chicken cutlets.

edit: I see this has been explained above. never mind.

Warning! Food Porn! Just scroll down the menu to the desserts. I could weep, but first I have to wipe the drool off of the keyboard.

Hopefully the link will work.

Iron .. I'm sold on those pork chops. What a great place. The bread in the flower pot looked really cool too! Is this restaurant near you in KY?
hugs,
Bren

About half an hour drive. One of our favorite spots up at the lake. Grand Rivers is a neat little town by Land Between the Lakes.
