Fundies should just stop having sex and leave contraception to the rest of us.
-
Blue - where do you find these things? Love it. Jeffrey Toobin was saying this is typical for how the Robert's court works. Make a decision that is very narrow, then use that decision, like a foot in the door, to apply the same principles on a broader scale.

Quinn and his mouse. He's 7 months old!
-
Quinn is a total delight......I think he would make more sense than most of the court yahoo's. Blue, I am definitely loving the graphics which are spot on. I'll have to look in my graphics bag but don't think anything that good will be there.

Following the Supreme Court decision yesterday, the NY Times quotes a tweet from conservative blogger Erick Erickson:
"My religion trumps your 'right' to employer-subsidized, consequence-free sex".
That just about sums up the prevailing conservative attitude towards women, I think.
-
This is TOO FUNNY!
-
Blue....way too funny. Of course, those who should get the 'drift' of that won't. I'm probably not alone in feeling a lot of weariness at the stupidity displayed and the fact that this ruling was almost transparent in that it was so meant to undermine the President.
C4C...I saw that tweet yesterday. I think Mr. ( used lightly for sure ) Erickson should be first inline for the hungry lions.

Morning Gals,
Already out and about this morning doing errands and walking the dogs. It's already in the upper 80's and rising. The heat index is already close to 95. Will be staying in the rest of the day. Sadly, there is a bunch of stuff to clean.
Jackie ... Love the George Takei poster. The SCOTUS ruling was a sad day for this country. Corporations are made up of people ... but they are not a person! They are a business and that's it.
Carrots ... "My religion trumps your 'right' to employer-subsidized, consequence-free sex". What an idiotic thing to say. Erick Erickson needs to have his head examined.

Bren

P.S. I AM a Christian, albeit a liberal one! Does that count mommy?
-
I am Christian too -- and very liberal -- I actually believe in all religions -- of course save for the Jim Jones type.
Jackie who is with you all the way, Blue.
-
I guess I will have to block some things/people again. I had un-blocked as I wanted to see the results of some issues. Seems it is a good time to go back to my status-quo which worked well.

Slice the cake however you want to -- this is still the cake you get with this one:
sad pickin's all the way from this fine up-standing pillar.

Time for an upbeat reminder:
Last item brought to you by the do nothing realistic, GOP.

From your article Jackie:
Remember, to the right wing, the only religion that qualifies for "religious freedom" is Christianity. Specifically, Republican Christianity.
Listening to legal scholars, that's what happened with the Hobby Lobby ruling. For instance, Scalia et al, ruled against Native Americans being able to use peyote in their centuries old spiritual practice. Anything is ok for Scalia if it's imposing his Christian values on others.

Love George!
-
A few heads would surely explode!

Blue .. love the graphic!I don't know if I'm a Christian or not. I imagine most would say "not," even though I believe and pray. It's just that my beliefs are a little ragged these days. It seems like when a lot of people get cancer they get some kind of spiritual awakening and newfound appreciation for life. Well ... that didn't happen to me. I love those close to me more than ever before, but my faith took a big hit.

I have interpreted the christian teachings, and the bible specifically in scientific and logical terms. Jesus was a good man and I follow his teachings because they are the only logical way civilization will continue. Therefore I am a Christian.
-
-
I too love your graphic, Blue.
-
Bren.....I think you are whatever you believe in your heart you are. Whatever that may be in the spiritual or religious sense, I do feel after reading your entries here you are a VERY good person.
As for me, I am what I always was. I will say though that it wasn't until I got diagnosed with my cancer that I gave myself TIME to realize that I had gotten so busy with the aspects of overall living that I was not appreciating very much at all. I didn't have time to listen to birds sing, or watch waves move across the water, or watch the sun shine through the trees.
That said, I also feel that if we didn't go through times of heartaches, despair, illness -- we would never be tested and never be given the opportunity to wonder about ourselves.....or to see the need of change. Times of ease and comforts seldom show you where your strengths lie, but when hardships come along, some real soul growth can take place.
In 1996 my father passed away and 2 yrs. later my mother. She nursed my father though she was very ill at the time herself. That started my questioning my faith and Christianity......so it isn't only cancer that made me question and study and think for hours about who I was and what I believed. I am still by the way on that journey which I don't expect to ever end. However; I did reach a place of comfort in it. Bren, you may question a lot of things but your soul which is forever has those answers and at some point you will too.
