Rush Limbaugh has now come out saying that marriage is only for people who meet 'qualifications.' This was from Add Info. I didn't bother to read it.....it is really hard to wade through the STUPID of some people. No one has yet told Mr. Fa* Ba***** Limbaugh that he is not in charge and never was. RIP.

When I was in Grade 7, many, many moons ago, we were taught where babies came from, etc. etc.
-
The last time moron Russ was spouting about marriage he defined it so that most of us could not get married as we cannot procreate any longer. He's such a fool and such a tool.

My kind of mushroom!

HI! Can anyone explain to me WHY 2 people of the same sex that want the same Privileges and Rights as a MAN & a WOMAN cannot have it. My marriage wont be ruined, it didnt ruin 2 of my sister's or 3 of my sis-in-laws. (That is 2 women and 5 marriages).
These people are just plain idiots, along with doing away with legal abortion. The women that will be dying with the use of a coat hanger is going to be atrocious and the blame can only go to?????
HI HI HI HI!!!!! ------kad2kar -
Suzie - I didn't hear it, but admittedly, I've been in art class all day and the little tv I've seen today is about the TM trial. I haven't had a chance to look at web news at all - I have a political news show on now - no mention. Maybe I'm not a good sample, as since I've retired, I've basically shut down on news. Not sure why. Other than that, and by my quick count you had 4 respondents besides me to your question and 2 were Canadians. Libby got this news via BBC. For Belinda, I would ask, did you see it while reading the news, or did you search for it?
-
Kam, I saw it while reading the news. I may be a bit of an anomaly, but I always click on the "world" section on cnn.com to see what (according to them) is going on around the world. Here's a snapshot of what appears when you click on that section this morning:
Top World Stories
- Obama: U.S. won't be 'wheeling and dealing' for Snowden
- Mandela's condition improving, Zuma says
- Young Syrian refugees forced to marry for protection
- Thousands feared dead under Indian silt
- Morsy admits mistakes as Egypt braces for protests
- Plane carrying Missoni boss found months later
- Rudd sworn in as Australian PM| Better the second time around?
- Brazil's president proposes political reforms
- Gitmo hunger striker: 'What more can they do to me?'

I saw it also. But I have CNN World as my default.

It continues to be a week that includes some good news......
"Senate Immigration Reform Bill Passes With Strong Majority"
"Undocumented immigrants and advocates in the crowd, many of them young so-called Dreamers, broke out into applause and chants of "yes we can!" after Vice President Joe Biden, who came to the Senate to preside over the proceedings, read the results. Senators in the bipartisan "gang of eight" that drafted the bill -- Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) -- patted each other on the back.
Just before the vote Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) dedicated the decision, in part, to the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), who worked for reform but never saw it signed into law."

For Athena......

"Gucci, Alexander McQueen and More of Menswear Fashion Week's Craziest Looks"

Good to see the US heard the news too. What a farce, the Dudd is back (that's the rebooted Prime Minister - Rudd). He really made a gaff today by suggesting the Liberal party would start a war with Indonesia if they turn back the illegal immigrant boats. We are getting hundreds of illegal immigrants every week since the idiot changed the rules and removed temporary protection visas. They see us as an easy target - it's costing billions to keep these people. Hundreds of men. women and children have drowned trying to get here because of the idiot policies.
-
Yeahhhh....nothing sexier than a man in a giant see-through onesie.
-
-
Yeah, but she has veins on her ankles.
-
Belinda - of those news stories listed, I saw the India story and the Nelson Mandela story. Definitely my "filetered" sources.
Did anyone hear about Wendy Davis having a back brace applied by a fellow Senate member during her filabuster? I heard the R's objected as "unfair." Again, I ask, if one has a handicap, or has suffered the afflication of just growing old, (or had breast cancer chemo and can't stand on their feet that long!), are they to be discriminated against in this context?? Has politics become a sport for the young and healthy only?
Going to get to 100 degrees in my mountain town the next few days - it happens, but not very often. The valley, 110 plus degrees. 129 degrees in Death Valley, California. Heat wave is hitting the west...payback I guess for the nicest winter/spring/early summer in my memory.
-
E - you're making me laugh...the onesie.....yes, veins - and STRONG legs, soon to be a GOV. no doubt about it.
Sandy - loved your post, and reminded me I always wonder why so many folks use as a reference for authority on so many things, a book in which so many people live to be 900 years old? Bushes spontaneously catch fire and aren't consumed, and don't get me started on miraculous births....and use is as a source for "Truth" with a capital T...rhetorical question, no one will ever convince me to agree with them...
Now, if ya wanna refer to Winnie-the-Pooh, well, then ya got my attention.
I wanna go to a TEA PARTY with all the goodies in Blue's picture...everything...
HI ATHENA

Love it Yorkie.
Suzie we of course get a lot of Aussie news. Rudd is being referred to here as the Recycled PM.
We are lucky with our news, think it is reasonably balanced with local, national and world. However I do get annoyed at some of the channels who really dumb down the news to little sound bites and you never get any background analysis.
Cold her today, we have a frost.
-
Aly - one news reader called him "rebooted" PM last night - being an IT person, I cracked up.
-
Suzie, that is so funny! Sometimes I think all our pols are "reboots!"
-
Yorkie - the whole thing is so embarassing. He had been undermining her for three years since she knifed him. She recently gave a speech about how she didn't want men in blue ties running this country - well ever since that he was seen wearing a blue tie nearly eveyday and even since he was relected as Labor leader and reinstated as PM - blue ties. He's a narcissitic nutjob.
I know my politics don't agree with most of you, but this mob are sending the country broke - they came into power with a budget surplus left from the Liberals (not your sort of liberals) and we now have a huge deficit.
-
suzieq60
Is your Liberal Party equivalent to our conservative (Republican) Party?
-
Suzie - in our country, historically, the Democrats have handed off budget surpluses to Republican Presidents and they take us deeper into debt.
Alyson, I did hear about a schooner with 6 people presumed sunk, in NZ. That kind of news we hear.
-
Yes, our Liberal party is conservative and our past Labor (your Democrats) governments have always left the finances in a mess. The Labor party is controlled by the unions - they call them the faceless men.
