Barbara, may I have the brown one in the middle row -- the one without the nuts?  Maybe if I just think about eating chocolate candy, I won't have to break down and actually do it.

I wish these were just chemo-pounds I'm fighting.  I'm afraid it's a combination of menopausal weight gain, chemo pounds, Arimidex SE's, habitual inactivity, and plain old lack of motivation.  You'd think there would be plenty of motivation to lose weight, right?  Seems like every other day, another article comes out about the perils of weight gain in middle-age or post-menopausal women.  I just slipped past one today that said body fat around the waist is associated with greater risk of osteoporosis in women.  "Regular" fat -- fat that's distributed under the skin all over the body -- is associated with a lower risk of osteoporosis.  But that darn belly fat gets one more black mark against it.

I am practicing denial, so that each time I go in for a recheck I can steel myself for the wait.  I'm not very good at it yet.  I used to be, but that call from the interventional radiologist with my path results 3 years ago ruined it.  I guess the longer we go between "looks suspicious -- need to check it more closely," the better we get at it.

As often is the case, I neglected to offer my congrats to Linda for her clean results and to Barbara and her family for her brother's progress.  One day at a time, eh?  We like good news, but we'll support one another in any case.

Barbara, I used to make my own fresh pasta for that dish minus the spinach.  Once upon a time.  Now I just buy it.  It's good with penne too.

Tonight we had a real simple meal.....franks and beans.

    Saw this today......what a hoot!

Your car is German. Your vodka is Russian. Your pizza is Italian. Your kebab is Turkish. Your democracy is Greek. Your coffee is Brazilian. Your movies are American. Your tea is Tamil. Your shirt is Indian. Your oil is Saudi Arabian. Your electronics are Chinese. Your numbers Arabic, your letters Latin. And you complain that your neighbor is an immigrant? Pull yourself together.

Otter, I'm not gonna keep the avatar.  I will change it soon.  I just kind of thought it would be cool to be your cousin for the weekend.

Aw, geez, I don't have time to read the next two pages.  I just signed on and it's page 134.  I just wanted to ask.  WHO ARE THE TROLLS?

Trolls are posters who post half truths and outright falsehoods in order to upset others or just stir the pot.  There are no trolls on at present.  Just look for posts that have juvenile name calling of public figures, awful comments about what "they" are doing without any sources or links for the so called information. Trolls are pretty obvious but they haven't shown up so far today.

I don't think we should name names because they may not have realized they were trolling.  It is possible they were just easily influenced by media pundits.  After receiving several responses that proved their opinion erroneous, they may now check their sources before posting.  A troll who post information with supporting sources is not a troll.

Put a cream cheese pound cake in the oven and decided to check in on the deleter action. Lo and behold, so far so good. I wouldn't have mentioned the pound cake but I saw Barbara had posted pictures of an equally sinful morsel.

What the crap is going on in Wisconsin? I heard the Republicans ran the Democrats out of town. Just kidding. Still I really wonder how that one is going to turn out.

Apparently some of the spineless politicians left the state rather than deal with their jobs.   What a great example for all those kids that the teachers brought to the State Capitol to protest.

I'm just sitting here quietly with a BIG bag of M &Ms and enjoying a quiet Friday night for a change. Do you think the trolls are having their own party?

No they're waiting to join ours. Just looking for a chance to stir. Keep your eyes open. The moderators will not know what to do if Monday morning comes and they don't have to reinstate someone because of bogus reports. We probably shouldn't say anything until later in the weekend. One good friday night does not a trend make.

I think I'll pass on the troll party. But those m&m's sound awfully good. I just might have to reach over and sneak a few. And cream cheese pound cake: holy cow!

Umm, you could have a piece of my son's cake, Pinata Vomit, that he made for the Boy Scout Dinner.  Consists of chocolate cake, vanilla cake, frosting, gummy worms, gummy bears, dots candy, hershey bars, marshmallows, M&M's, and white chocolate.

Was actually the hit of the party...Undecided

Blue:  I love franks and beans!  Especially with hot cornbread which I squash all together and eat with my hands!! Yummy!  DP says I must have been an animal in my past life because I just hate to use utensils to eat with. I just like to make good use of my hands in eating.  Especially cream pies!! Now for that delicious shrimp dish with pasta, I would force myself to use a fork for.  I also use my toes for unusual actions but not allowed to share this because I think it's against the rules!Smile  DP took a photo of me doing my "toe" thingee and boy do I look disgusting.  However, only my spinal fusion caused me to stop it.  (I guess there is a reason for all things in life!)

The Democrats leaving Wisconsin is a type of Filibuster which most State legislatures don't have.  The same thing was done in Texas when there was an attempt by Republicans at gerrimandering prior to the 2008 election.  Redistricting is always done after a national census. The Democrats left their families and children and lived in low budget hotels until the Republicans gave up their attempt.

In Wisconsin, the Democrats want to stop the Republicans from union busting by preventing a quorum that is required for legislation to past.  Republican have always been against union and Democrats have always been pro union.

So, PatMom, the Democrats are in fact doing their jobs and upholding their beliefs.  You may not like their beliefs but the Democrats of Wisconsin are living up to them.  Therefore, they are providing an excellent example for the children of Wisconsin and the US.

My onc appointments don't scare me Linda, but the aches and pains I sometmes get do.  I had stage 1 ILC 1.5 cm, Grade 2......iffy for chemo which I refused because of my PD.  So I had lumpectomy, rads and Tamoxifen until I had my ovaries removed and am now on Arimidex.  I had a scare in December when I had my annual mammo, ironically on the same day I got the go ahead for my DBS surgery.  Went back for compression and ultrasound the next day and now they think its a fibrodenoma in my good breast.  I see my onc again next month.  Its the damn mammos and scans that scare me!

Ah Blue, I had a fibroadenoma at age 20.  Can you imagine how scared I was when I felt the lump, given that my mother's BC had just metasticized.  Ugh!  Saw 3 docs in one day about it.  And you're right, it's those crazy strange aches and pains that you hope will disappear in a few days, and not last longer than the proverbial 2 weeks....

BBQ'd chicken legs with wild rice/peas/red onions tonight -- and an oatmeal cookie chaser!

I've been applauding the Wisconsin Democrats all day.

While Barbara's berries look good, my chocolate fondue that I make to dip strawberries in is pretty fine.  Made a batch for Valentine's Day and should finish it up this weekend.  Makes us feel decadent!

Someone told me that today is National Wine Day.  Slainte!

The Democrats in Wisconsin are throwing a temper tantrum.

If they have a better solution to the budget crisis there, by all means they should share it with the Governor, the Republican Legislators and the taxpayers of the state, but holding the process hostage will hurt every citizen in the state.

States can't print money, and a multi-billion dollar shortfall in the budget will not be solved by doing nothing.  The legislators were elected to debate, persuade and vote, not to run and hide.

I have a feeling if the tea party was doing what the Wisconsin democrats are doing, they would be called the New American Patriots by their sympathizers.

I, for one, totally agree with what they are doing.

I really like it that the gov of Wisconsin is such a loyal guy. The only unions exempted from the collective bargaining ban in the bill are those which supported him. No politics involved there.

Geez Linda, that must have been really scary.  Did you have it removed.  I had one also at that age and had it removed and that's where my ILC showed up 35 years later.  Wonder if they are related?
