    YKYACPW you go to the grocery or anywhere just normal always wearing your most favorite, best-est clothes in your closet.... no way are they getting bagged for the Salvation Army or Good Will without some wear-and-tear on them, you will get your days in them now..... whether you lose so much weight they fall off or whatever comes.

    Tooky - hopefully you don't need chemo but you will have radiation brain. It sucks too.i had to go to the CHICKEN yesterday -- said it 3 times -- I meant the KITCHEN !!

    You know you're a cancer patient when...for a special Mother's Day project, the teacher has your four year old finish sentences about you. The first one reads, "My Mom...grows her hair". I'm thinkin' I was probably the only Mom in the class who got that one!

    Onthe first day of chemo my oncologist said to me

    you're gonna have all of this real soon



    Twelve scans and specialist

    Eleven drugs for nausea

    Ten scarves and hats

    Nine miserable days

    Eight rounds of chemo

    Seven more blood draws

    Six more neulastas

    Five sleepless nights

    Four port a caths

    Three painful drains

    Two fake boobies

    And a sleeve for your lymphadema.

    YKYACPW-you have a box in the basement full of post mx wraps, a head for my wig that my dd decorated, the wig, old sleves, TONS of books & papers on reseach, sea bands and peppermint oil for nausea, cream for your radiation burn and 100's of well wishing cards from loved ones I cannot part with. We call this the "cancer box" in our storage area.

    Also, you get thrilled with a whitehead blemish on your face......means you HAVE wbc's!

    survivor - never thought of having zits as a good thing .... till now.

    Had a bit of a chuckle the other day when someone said "I have to get something off my chest". The saying now has a totally new meaning to me now.

    I have a "cancer box" too, it's on the shelf in the closet in the spare room.  Someday I hope to move it to the basement.

    gumby, are you thinking of the woman who wanted to swim in the public pool topless after her DMX because of the way a suit top aggravated a painful area caused by her surgery?  I think the city settled with her and allowed her to swim but ruled that she was an exemption and others would be handled on a case by case basis. She stated that she wanted to make sure others like her would be allowed topless.

    I am flat and I am staying flat. BUT, I don't show off my flatness bare to anyone. I think it's still a shock for people to see a nipple-less chest - whether man or woman. This is only my opinion, but as a flat person, I don't think it's appropriate to shock those who aren't expecting to see it (doctors, etc).
