Just starting my 3rd AC dense dose. Happy because after today I will only have 1 more of this cocktail sad and nervous because then I start TC for 12 weeks. I'm so thankful that I haven't suffered many SEs. My dad flew in last night and is scheduled to stay for 7 weeks. Family is so amazing! My school family and friends have been supplying us with meals 3 times a week since February and are planning to continue thru May. Cancer stinks but has also given me huge blessings

    Happy Easter to you Luv

MsMath you are doing great! And what an awesome support system you have, what a blessing. Enjoy your visit from your dad, my dad was 82 during my treatments, he was wonderful too, came and sat with me during chemo. Gives us strength yes? Hugs to you

Hey ladies (and of course any other guys out there!)

I know all you missed my English accent!

Seriously, I hope everyone is well or as well as can be. Not had a chance to post for a while, things have been rather crazy! But I would like to let you know that my wife gave birth to our little baby boy three weeks ago (March 14th). He's a fine little chap, and doing very well. Keeping Daddy awake at night, (I am of course sending my wife to bed and doing feeding duty overnight), but enjoying every second of it.

My sweetheart is now back on chemo, she has 8 more weeks of Taxol to go. Obviously very tired and now her body is shot to bits with surgery, chemo and pregnancy, but light is appearing at the end of the tunnel. She has even started a fashion trend on the nursery school run. One mum copied her head scaf thinking it was a new fashion statement, the poor thing got a huge shock when we explained the real reason, but hey made my wife smile!

As always love and hugs and prayers to you all.

    Tom

    xx

just checking in and waving a big hello to everyone.

glad to hear everyone is doing well

ally..happy to hear that the mass was benign. keep us posted about what is planned next. will be good if another surgery is avoided.

by the way, havent heard from fighter and catwhispurr since a really long time. Both unfortunately battling mets.

old timers and regular writers here...do keep posting. its a huge support.

me doing fine. the cardiac issue is getting treated but to cure it a small surgery would be needed which they are avoiding as of now. i feel its a side effect of taxol since the problem is with the nerve endings near the heart, that have got damaged and i did suffer from serious neuropathy during taxol. But as long as its not another cancer, i will not complain!!!

lots of love and hugs to you all....

Tom=Congratulations. Best of luck to your wife. She is so lucky to have a great guy like you

Greenae= Glad you are doin well. I LOVE the board I joined for chemo they same month I statrted.

Went to MO yesterday for blood work and it is almost normal. Yeah me. No neupogen shots and I do not have to go back for 1 month. WBC went from 1.5 4 weeks ago to 3.7.  Everything else was fine. Finally, I can see the end of all the cancer treatments.

Tom, it must be a combination of happy and tiring days for you and your wife. Let us know how you are coping up with baby plus your wife back to chemo. Taxol should treat her better as compared to anthracycines.

Meadow.. It all began with huge palpitations and difficulty to breathe or move or talk or even lift my head from the bed. But by the time I used to reach the hospital, it used to subside and the ECG etc used to come clear. Till one day when I got a repeat attack right on the ECG table and it got diagnosed right away. He said he will not interpret this as heart metastasis since from breast to heart is rare. How have u been post treatment?

    Thanks for the wishes anotherNYCG

Hope u are doing good, LUVMY and everyone here..

    Keep writing...

For those of you just starting this journey, I just thought I'd post that today is my wife's 2 year "cancer-versary". 2 years ago today she was diagnosed. There were some complications due to a previous bout with lymphoma 17 years prior, which limited treatment options. We were both scared out of our wits. My wife embarked on the journey through treatment, which included mastectomy, chemo, oophorectomy and reconstruction. With a great deal of faith and a great deal of support, which included this board, we got to the other side. Now, 2 years post diagnosis, all is well so far. Just wanted to say that so you'll know that although it may not always seem like it, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Fight on and things WILL get better. Bless you all, newbies and long term survivors, and be well!

I've been lurking for too long and BanR has shamed me into checking in. My life is pretty boring. We live in a remote Sierra foothill area, so not much goes on here. We had no snow all winter and barely any rain. Yesterday it snowed and rained! Yeah? Our pond is still just a mud puddle. Dreading summer as everything is dried up already and the wild fires have started.

I thank God I still seem to be NED after 4 years. My new (to me) MO has had his 3 strikes out with me. Visit 1: I felt very cared for. He sat down at my eye level and we talked for 45 minutes. Wonderful. Visit 2: Visit started with me complaining about Lymphedema. I was fully dressed and no exam yet. He said I don't have lymphedema and couldn't understand why I was wearing compression garments. Visit 3: Told me he never heard of taking Metformin or the Metformin study. Fired him.

From my quick reading, it looks like most of you are doing well. That's so wonderful. I'm just so sorry so many new members have a need to join. Delighted that Tom has a new healthy baby and the new family is doing well. Nothing like a new baby to warm the heart.

Wishing everyone health and energy and happiness. Jan
