Hi ladies...this thread's moving so fast I can't keep up!

Titan, I know the hashbrown recipe you're talking about.  Mmm, how I love those potatoes.  Maybe I'll make them this week.

Cocker, your sense of humour is so good.  I love to read your posts. Now it makes sense why my daughter's been writing "WTF" on Facebook so much. Poor thing, I told her she can't write LMAO anymore and that she needs to write "LMO" (laugh my off).

I'll be putting in the plant in LauraJane's memory in the next couple of days. I'm not much of a gardener so I asked a gardening expert for advice and he recommended Sedum Autumn Bliss because it's a hardy plant that will thrive here in Canada and is one that would also grow well in Indiana, where LJ lived.

Hi Titan, thank you for the kind words. I just read your message that you wrote last june. Sorry for the late reply. I've been busy recovering but I'm starting to feel better. I've just noticed my hand swelling and am pretty sure its LE. Not sure what to do.

I hope you're doing well. Let us know how everything is with you.

    Take care of yourself.

Hi everyone...not much time before we go to dinner.  But with this link you can read about our first day in Paris (yesterday).  I cannot believe that it's 9 p.m. and still daylight.  The sun sets very late in Paris this time of year....very nice.  And the weather is spectacular - 80 and sunny.

Paris in Springtime... I am envious.  Having lived in London all my life until 2000 before emigrating to Canada, BC I spent many long weekends Paris (fortunate that flights from London to Paris and/or Europe are incredibly cheap).   It sure is a beautiful city.  Thank you for the link LuvRving sounds like you are having an absolutely amazing time... and how could you not.   Paris in the evening is pretty spectacular too.   Enjoy your time there and look forward to more updates.

Weather not too shabby here eithere - 25 and sunny also.

Hope that everyone is having a wonderful day.

Bak: Glad you popped in to say hi.

Navy: Three years! That is a big milestone. Congrats.

I'm missing Heidi, she hasn't been on in a while. Hope all is well.

Hope you U.S. ladies are enjoying the long weekend.

Best thing that happened to me today: Breakfast at a neighbourhood diner with my two grown sons and DH (his birthday today).

Good Morning Ladies.  Just read LuvRVing's post and I too am envious.  Sounds  wonderful.  I could just sit at the cafe now and have a capachino. Holiday of a lifetime. I hope she has a fabulous time.

Well, I must say our weather is pretty shabby. Not so cold but its raining. Might even forgo my walk cause me feet are puffy and tight and they don't like rain at the best of times.

Sugar77 - that is so lovely of you putting in the plant in, in memory of the girls.  What colour is it?.

Titan - getting my own back now.  We have a long weekend next weekend.  So a holiday for us too yay,  but could do with your weather to go with it.

Gillyone - three years congratulations but how come you aren't cellibrating, three years is a long time.

Well better get back to typing. Have a great day ladies.  Annie

    Tazzy - I'm a Brit.

Michelle - I love your blog post, thanks for sharing!

Annie - I hope your edema leaves soon. It's a bit wet here today too. However I did manage to grill a pork loin roast, and turn it into some beautiful Eastern North Carolina style, chopped BBQ.

    -----

Question - my finger nails are flattening out. Has anyone experienced this? I have always had strong, healthy nails.

NavyMom - very apt that your anniversary is on Memorial Day Weekend.  Congrats.

LuvRV - loved the post, have fun for all of us.

My big surprise this weekend was that I finally colored my hair.  My girlfriend recommended the temporary 28 shampoo till I found a color I liked.  Very good suggestion (TO Red, TO Red, I could pass for a fire hydrant!!!!)  I have to call her when I get home and tell her she FORGOT  to mention one wee little problem.  I've been working like a dog cleaning the yard and finally getting it mowed. (Also managed to kill the riding mower somehow, but that's a problem for another day).  A friend pulled in to say hi.  He took one look at me and asked, "Kathy, whats all over your shirt"  I had been sweating like a dog, and wiping my face on my shirt, so I assumed it was just dirt from my face. Oh nooooo, apparently temporary hair dye bleeds off your hair when you sweat.  My white shirt is covered with red stains. The good news is apparently my hair won"t stay "to red" at this rate with the hot weather!!!!!

How dumb can I get. Sorry Navymom and Gillyone but congratulations Navymom. My only excuse is that I am tired today so I think Taxol is creeping up on me.   I still think its worth celebrating though. When I finish treatment I am going to celebrate every month and make the most of it!.

It's my dear old fellar's 65th on Wednesday and  I just cannot think what to buy him.  He doesn't need clothes and it is a special birthday so I am stuck. He has a nice watch and very rarely puts it on anyway and he has all the things he needs for his boat.  I was still thinking what to buy and then realized I have been sitting whiling away 20 minutes just staring out the window and  not getting any typing done.  I'm such a time waster.  Any suggestions??

Would you believe since I typed that last paragraph another 10 mins have gone by.  Geeze I will have to get my A into G (Thats arse into gear) and start doing some work cause I have heaps of it.

Oh well, here goes, catch you later ladies.  Annie

    Talking about gears .......

    A Rich  Blonde Buys the
New Automatic BMW X6 Sport. She drives the car perfectly well

during the day, but at night, the car just won't move at all.

After trying to drive the car at night for a week (but without

any luck), she furiously calls the BMW dealers and they send out a technician

The  technician examines the car and finds nothing wrong

with it. So he turns to the Blonde and asks: "Ma'am, are you sure you

    are using the right gears?"

Full of anger, the Blonde replies: "You fool, you Idiot, how on earth you

could ask  such a stupidquestion? I'm not stupid. Of course I am using the right

gears; I use D for the Day and N for the Night..."

Case closed, I guess so better get back to typing now.

Hope all the US ladies are having a great Memorial Day weekend and those outside the US- just Happy Weekend!!

Luv- Hope you can see me waving to you in Paris!!

Read a hospital joke today that MUST be old, as it violates all kinds of HIPAA regulations, but I LOL'd at it, so thought I'd share:

    How's She Doing?
    (Room 302)

A sweet grandmotherly-type person telephoned the hospital and timidly asked "Is it possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient is doing?"

The operator said, "I'll be glad to help dear, what's her name and room number?"

The woman said, "Norma Findlay, room 302."

A few minutes later, the operator returned to the phone and said, "I have good news! The nurse just told me Norma is doing well. Her blood pressure is fine; her blood work just came back normal and her physician has scheduled her to be discharged tomorrow."

The grandmother said, "Oh, thank you; that's wonderful! I was so worried. God bless you for the good news."

The operator replied, "You're welcome. Is Norma your daughter?"

The grandmother said, "No, I'm Norma Findlay in Room 302. No one tells me crap around here."

Cocker, I was laughing at your post about lol (never gonna give it up) and WTF.

I saw a comedienne last month that told this true story about his teenage daughter who he refers to as Satan's Spawn ( he told several stories and you could understand how she got the name)

He was downstairs working one night, and his daughter texted him from her bedroom, "Dad, bring me a sandwich"

    He ignored it.

A few minutes later, "DAD, BRING ME A SANDWICH"!!!

    He ignored it again.

    Several minutes later, "DAD, WTF!!!!!!

He picked up the phone and texted back, GFY.

His daughter stormed downstairs, to find out what the acronym meant?

(Think about it, it will come to you, lol)

riley 702 - good one.  Made me laugh. Comes to something when you have to ring and  enquire about yourself.

Forgot to tell you this morning when I wasn't all there!.  There was a lady in the Sunday papers yesterday who comes from here in our town who was diagnosed incorrectly with breast cancer and had a breast removed by mistake.  Apparently her results were mixed up with another persons.  It was the same hospital that my Oncologist is in although luckily she was not there at the time,  Phew!.  Do you know I would have given almost anything for that to have been me. I even would have forgotten to sue them in my joy of not having it after all.   Guess it happens but what a shock.    Annie

Hello everyone. I am new to this site and am also TN. I have read the last few pages of posts and have really enjoyed the humor you have.

Its so good to see so many positive women who are sticking together.

I am currently awaiting results of a lung CT and brain MRI. Have been having trouble with memory and found spot on my chest x-ray last week. Feel as if the world is collapsing once again on me.

Hope it is ok with you to join in when I can.

Wow, that's horrible for both women! One woman thought she was fine but was really just going untreated (hope it didn't spread during the delay); and the other woman got the worst example of good new, bad news EVER! I hope they both sue.

Kelly, of course you can! Hate that you have to be here, but we're a pretty friendly bunch.

Hey Kelly...thinking about you and hoping for good results from your scans...hoping the spot is..just a spot...and well memory issues...hopefully it is just an se from chemo...wow..that sounds bad doesnt it but alot of us have issues with chemo brain.  anyway..welcome to this thread and please keep in touch

I'm friends with Heidi on FB and she is doing well..Heidi...I hope you don't mind me telling your FB stuff but she recently rescued a fawn whose mom was hit by a car...omg..the fawn was absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen..she turned it over to someone who rescues fawns...but not before sharing pics of her and the fawn...they were adorable.

ok...no more LOL but WTF...I can handle that....

Navy Mom...3 years out...that is awesome...I get you with maybe the not celebrating...at this point I'm just maybe thinking that i could be just a little...a little cautiously optimistic...a little...not ready to put it all behind me..because how can we just forget..but maybe to start looking ahead a little..just a little...

Cocker..happy birthday to your fellar....he's lucky to have you....!

The best thing today...I laid out in the sun for an hour and got fried..think I got my d3 today...then my daughter and her new hubby came over for dinner...we played trivia pursuit...or a version of it..I kept getting the science questions and got most of them right...like what color the blood corpuscles are...well dang...didn't we have our RED AND WHITE blood count tested all them time...ha ha..everyone was amazed at my knowledge....guess bc made me smarter...lol...oopss...WTF

Cocker... happy birthday to dh... any other hobbies other than boating  ?   golfing, gardening... I normally get mine
something golf related and he's happy as a pig in sh*t.

Hi and welcome Kelly.. I am pretty new to this site also and these ladies will welcome you with open arms.
Good luck with the scans.   And couldn't agree more with Titan on the chemo brain and fingers crossed its only a 'spot'.  Let us know how you get on.

Happy Memorial Day to you all in the US.  Thanks to veterans everywhere !!

Good Evening Ladies well I finally got through my days work but not without several window gazes and a whole lot of elbow resting.

Kelly - Hi,  welcome to the thread. Not only is it ok that you join but it is great that you have.  Can imagine how you feel with your lung CT, MRI and chest x-ray. That is really worrying for you but hang in there we are all here for you at any time. Hoping the best from your scans for you.

Riley - unfortunately we don't sue here in NZ.  We have an organisation known as ACC (Accident and Insurance Corporation) which is a no fault service. The most those ladies can do is to go for Medical Misadventure.  They will get a  lump sum pay out but it only equates to about $35,000 so nothing near as much as if we could sue. If they gave that to me after losing my breast for nothing or being told I didn't have breast cancer when I did, they would get more than WTF.

Tifj - obviously the fitness and age level on the Wii only applies to me lol.

Kathrynn - just love that "Satan's Spawn". I'm sure it applies to my 14 year old granddaughter at certain times of the month cause she is just so hard work.  Is it 'Get it the F.. yourself'?

Titan - the little ophaned fawn sounds bloody delightful.  Send it over to  me for some cuddling. Got lots of time, not doing much work lol.

It's the other way round with my old fellar Titan. I am the lucky one but still don't know what to buy him for his birthday.  If I wait much longer he might as well get it himself.

I play  'are you smarter than a 10 year old' with my grandson.  I'm ok most of the time cause I can memorise the answers if we keep playing it a lot (lol) but when it comes to the maths questions he beats me hands down.  Even with all my fingers and toes I still can't get it right.

Hey girls do you watch the Ellen show. It is on every night here around dinner time. There are two cute wee girls on it, Sophie and Rosie. One doesn't shut up and the other can't get a word in edgeways but they are so cute and their dresses are all pink.  If I go on the show and scream do you think she will give me a brand new pair of feet cause they are really giving me grief today. Rang my Oncology Nurse. He said I had to keep drinking so I've had five coffees today.

OBKK - my fellar said your loin pork sounds beautiful. He loves pork.  I can cook but not as good as Alan or at least that is what he tells me and I let him believe it then I get fed.  Dinner without even a pinch of salt is a no no though, shouldn't be allowed.

I do still like lol as well as WTF.  Perhaps doesn't have as much impact,  but WTF.

Have a great evening ladies with hopefully no worrying, no side effects and no stress.  Annie

Good Morning.  Thanks to all for the well wishes.  Spent the day yesterday floating in the pool.  DH cooked steaks, shrimp amd veggies on the grill for dinner.  Even had a yummy dirty martini!  Once it was dark outside, we lit up a Japanese paper latern and sent it on its way high into the skies. Very Cool to see.   Quiet day, quiet night.  Love to all.

Happy Memorial Day to all here in the states - and to all outside of the states - just have a happy day, please.

NavyMom - Congrats - felt exactly as you do when I hit the 3 years in late Feb.  If I really get to thinking about it, I actually feel more trepidation and anxiety - so I try not to think about the time frame, even though three years ago, I prayed constantly to be able to make it to this point.  Crazy, huh?  Just wanted you to know - I'm so happy for you too that we "got there."  Long may we stay "there."

Welcome to the new gals coming aboard, we are happy to have you join us.  We can't cure cancer, but we sure can give love, hugs, strength and courage to you.  Hell, an extra set of arms around us at any time is always a plus!

    Hugs,

    Linda
