LuvRVing - Have a really great time in Paris! How long are you there? Will be anxiously waiting to hear all about it when you return!
Hope the tech was right, Lovelyface, she probably has a good idea of what she's seen.
Titan - 6 miles - way to go!! That's really impressive.

LRM216,
In the North Country many believe that cabbage causes Gene's meat sauce to taste sweet.

Good Evening Ladies
Titan - that is just terrible about your friends daughter, so very young. We have a young girl in my chemo class who is 24 who is not doing well. My heart breaks for her and all the young people with cancer. I have at least had most of my life whereas they haven't even started their's yet and maybe never will. I will pray for them and all the youngsters with cancer and mums with cancer who are young and have kiddies. This always becomes a real test of my faith when I hear or see this.
Could you please stop telling me about how much exercise you are doing it makes my head swim and I swear I get a funny tick in my eye lol. I have about as much energy as a slug at the moment after a night with no sleep.
Sugar77 - a proposal in Paris. You must have a very very romantic man. I have always wanted to go to the Louvre.
Lovelyface - at least a little bit of good news to be going on with until you get the all okay.
Ladies your Memorial weekend plans sound great. I hope you all have a lovely time. I will probably be making up time with my typing as I was very sluggish today. But Taxol is going well at the moment, just got to watch my puffy feet apparently. I'm sure its only all the xtra water because it goes away again. I'm sure there is no need to have my heart checked, feels ok to me and I'm still breathing. I don't mind working for the doctors just don't want to see them myself.
OBXK _ oh don't you just love 'young love'. Goes all the way to LA to see her. Wow what a son. Wish I had one. Did you shine his shoes up well because she will notice lol.
Have a good weekend ladies and enjoy all your hot dogs with the trimmings. Forget about cancer and have a ball.
Heather - hope all is going well with the job hunting. You will get one because it only takes one employer to say "wow she's awesome".
Inmate - hope all is well with you. Just hope you are out skiing again and forgetting us for a while.
Naan1004 - Yep was up all night and I really feel it now (but still don't need my heart checked). I really don't think they need to give me such a large dose of Dexamethazone in the infusion bag, so unnecessary I think. Hope they know what they are doing!!
Have a great evening ladies. There is nothing on tele tonight so might go to bed early. Hugs to you all Annie

You know, with all the space at the side of the screen they could allow us to put a bigger picture so I can see everyone better. Just a thought. Just couldn't go without making my post longer !!!
-
Titan - I'm so sorry to hear of your friends daughter. So damn unfair! She and her family are in my prayers.
Mags - What kind of store? Sounds fun to own a store. We went to Mexico, all inclusive, for our honeymoon. Loved it.
Sugar77 - How romantic!!! Perhaps you could arrange some lessons for our men in that department.
CS - Those stupid steriods kept me up and bloated for days. Then when I stopped taking them I swear I pee'd for hours on end. Puffy feet are from the steriods, not the heart, I would think.
Lovelyface - Thrilled to hear it "looks" benign. The waiting is horrible but you'll be just fine.
Inmate - Miss your posts, hope your doing ok.
I'm sorry if I've missed anyone.
Have a busy day, 2 interviews, food shopping, have to drop off some paperwork at the my old highschool. Hoping to at least get some temp work there to have some $$ coming in. Then it's a Zumba night and I've still got to do a half hour on my eliptical this morning. (sorry CS, still very heavy, need to lose weight and burn off nervous anxiety)
Have a wonderfull day ladies.
-
Heather--it's a franchised children's store called Once Upon A Child. Have had it for 12 yrs. My son took the helm while I was in treatment. He is quite a special 22 yr old.
Titan--26 is way too young for this crap. Here's to hoping that all this research stops this beast in its tracks sooon!

I was diagnosed on my 53rd birthday on 12-16-2011. Double mastectomy on 12-30-11 - 3 nodes removed all clear. Decided against any chemo treatments. Had DIEP procedure on 1-8-12. Having scar revision surgery on 5-31-12.
-
rsinorlando - is this a decision you have made by yourself or with medical input?
-
Good morning Ladies......I'm here. Just having a real bear of a time these days. Not only does this chemo suck big ones but my family has fallen apart in the past week. I can do one or the other but both seems a bit much right now. The good news, this is my week off of chemo and today I feel a more like my old self. Whew! Now to take that deep breath of fresh air and go enjoy life.
Michelle ......thinking about you in Paris makes me smile. I can't wait to hear about all your adventures when you return.
Titan....I am so sorry to hear of your friend's daughter. So young. It just isn't fair!
Think of you all every day and hope life is treating you with love and kindness.
I have a lot to catch up on and will check back this evening. Off to help a friend out today in her store. Here's hoping for consistent energy!
Have a wonderful day! Love to you all.
-
Hi everyone. I'm still working like a dog, getting my house ready for my new "roommate". I've managed to at least keep up with reading all your posts.
Welcome to all our new members. This board is a wonderful source of support, knowledge and fun.
Titan, I'm so sorry for your young friend. As others have said, when you're older, you can accept that you've lived a life, but someone this young has been robbed! Prayers for her.
NavyMom - I always make a point to thank people who served for their sacrifice. I especially like this weekend because all the old-timers usually wear something denoting their service and I kiss them all!
Teka - I remember reading an article by a reporter that had TN, that said "cancer hates cabbage" so keep eating those dogs!
I'm back to the salt mines. Everyone have a wonderful weekend! -
I made the decision myself - against my onocologist recommendations. I have lost a dear family member to this hideous disease and saw for myself during her chemo treatment and knew then and there that I would never do it even if I developed breast cancer myself. I understand that it is not a decision that many chose...just wondering if anyone else has done the same.
-
I just updated my surgery info as I missed that somehow earlier.
-
Let's try that again....sorry! This is the first discussion group/blog I have been involved in.
-
Thanks, Teka.

Titan:
26, so very young. She should just be starting her life, actually, instead of having it end because of this beast of a disease. My heart breaks for both her, and her family and all those that love her. I am so very sorry.
-
rsinorlando - we all respect your decision not to do chemo, though I think you will find very few who are TN would make the same choice. Can you tell us what it was about your family member going through chemo made you so adamant about not doing chemo?
-
Titan - today I woke up with a purpose in my heart (took some doing I can tell you). Usually I test the waters with one big toe on getting out of bed but no today I am inspired by you. I will stride it out just as you do with hope and inspiration, I will imagine I am walking a marathon, everybody will be there to cheer me on and say OMG she can do it, they will clap and get me to the finishing line and when that little tick comes that says 'exercise exercise ugh' I will push it aside and bravely carry on. You are my hero.
I will walk around the block at least (all of ten mins) and hopefully nobody will have to help me home. I can do this, I will do this. (how many years will it take me to do 5kms) You are an inspiration to me. I can DO this. Annie
-
GO ANNIE!!!!! Titan- 26......it's just too sad. My heart goes out to her and to her family and friends.
-
One step at a time - Annie! Do what you can, it's all good!
Happy Memorial Day weekend to our American sisters!
Doreen

-
fighter I love Virginia Beach, we are actually going the last week of July! I cannot wait.
luv you have a blast in Paris!
Can't remember who posted about not doing chemo. I understand your fear and respect your decision, but just know that TN is very responsive to chemo and chemo is very doable. So make sure you are making the right choice for you.
-
Go Annie!!!!
-
Orlando- I"m in otown too...wondering who you've seen here...I opted for no chemo or surgery and a month later, my children had talked me into it. Wish I had never done it. I have permanent 'damage' that really interfers with all my activities. Yeah, I"m alive, but only to put in 10 hrs a day at work to make the mortgage payment and recouperate on the sofa for the rest of the time. Flipping Boring!! Oh, and my daughter decided not to take care of me halfway thru my chemo because she said 'I was too needy'. GIVE ME A BREAK!
I totally respect your decision. Chemo is not for everyone.
-
cocker..I love your posts...I swear I can "hear" your voice...
Inmate..good to hear from you my friend....hang in there..not easy is it.
not doing chemo for triple negative....it is very unusual for tn's to NOT do chemo...but it is OUR choice whether or not we do it....I think that is what got me through...knowing that I could quit any time...I didn't quit but the thought got me through anyway....I do respect your decision though...no judgments here....
-
Welcome to all the newcomers! Caroline, the BCO board is based in the US, but there are people posting from all over the world. Somebody is always awake somewhere. LOL
-
Hi ladies - I haven't posted in forever but I do try to stop in and read.
Inmate - I am sorry that you have to go through all of the chemo crap again.
Luv - Paris sounds soooooo wonderful!
Annie - I also love your posts.
I finished my T/FAC chemo on 4/17 and had my re-lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy last Friday. I got the biopsy results back - all clear! Happy, happy, joy, joy! I have a month before I start radiation. It will be like a vacation!
Phyllis

(((Inmate))) - wishing you a good week off from chemo, and sending positive energy to solve the family issues. You're right, it's hard to handle both.
17.5 hours to "wheels up"!
-
rsinorlando - I was dx in March 2011. Had a lumpectomy and radiation. Against my Drs advisement, I chose NOT to do Chemo as I saw what it did to my sister in law. She is however, 5 years out and now doing very well. She is NOT TN. I have a friend who chose to do what you did. Dbl MX and Diep flap..no chemo, no radiation. She is also doing very well and she is 5 years out. Do not know if she was TN or not. Doing Chemo is a very personal choice...I am 65 and just one year out. Reading all these posts of what these strong ladies have gone thru makes me comfortable with my decision. I am not good at being sick. Radiation was a breeze for me, as was the surgery. It may all come back to bite me in the butt and I will still refuse chemo.

Hello ladies. Just started getting into these forums and excited to see this one specifically for TN! Diagnosed at 33, three days before my 34th birthday. Completed chemo and rads and approaching the 1 year mark in a few weeks. This year's birthday seems like it will be much happier
