THE 2ND TA TAS SISTERHOOD REUNION IN VEGAS!!

Journey - I am totally with you! I figure dancing at the Piano Bar will be enough exercise for the entire weekend.
-
Off topic - my PCP is leaving the practice so I had to find a new PCP. I have been scheduled for an appointment when I get back from Vegas at this outpatient clinic at the hospital where I get all of my treatments. The only difference is that this is a teaching clinic where the residents rotate out every 3 years but the main doctors stay. Ok, I am fine with residents being in the room while I am talking to the doctor except during pap smear time.
I figure I might be an interesting case for them
Breast cancer plus all of my annual horse injuries/broken bones - should make it a little more interesting than just treating cold symptoms.
I had to get "approval" to become a patient - I guess it is because of all of the drug shopping by so many people.
So has anyone else gone to a teaching facility for just routine work? Did it make you feel odd having other people in there other than the doctor?
-
Jancie, I go to a teaching hospital and it did bother me at first to have others in the room but after all the surgeries and pics I had taken with my recon it doesn't bother me as much anymore. What happens at my place is that the resident comes in first and examines me and then has a short chat outside the room with my Dr and then the Dr comes in a checks me out and discusses anything that may need to be discussed. I guess they have to learn somehow. I draw the line though when it comes to surgery. I make darn sure that I write down on paper that I don't want anyone "practicing" on me !

Lilah, you mentioned the Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood. If it's anything like the one in Downtown Disney, at DisneyWorld Florida, it will be a great place anytime we want a good quality, reasonably priced meal. They have all types of wonderful sandwiches, and I think they have salads and other side dishes too. I think y'all will like it! (just practicing my "southern-speak"....)

OK panic time...just discovered my carry-on is the right dimensions but only if I cut off the wheels and handle. The wheels and handle makes it 2.5 inches too tall...just my luck.....got one from a friend and it is tiny!!! Got another friend who is bringing hers for me to look at tomorrow. Hopefully hers will be bigger but regulation size. The stress of packing has just gotten worst.
jancie, At one of my PS appts he asked if it would be OK for a student to come in the exam room (I had my expanders in) and observe. I said "sure" I am a good one to learn on since I have a rad side being expanded. I was OK with it, just would not want him touching me.
Diane...hello roomie. The Earl place sounds perfect. I will probably be eating there for lunch. See ya'll real soon....practicing my southern accent too....hehehe according to Estepp I don't need any practice....
-
LINDA.... I bring TWO suitcases... and I send them on down the line with the airline.. I carry NOTHING on board...NO WAY! But then.. my airline is free for two cases....:) It will be ok!
Ladies... I am about to print my CELL NUMBER AND NAME CARDS for you all. FOR unknown reasons to me.. there are still about three ladies who are not getting back with me. I see that you HAVE been on this BCO site in the past week.. or even today.
SO... I am going to print the numbers cards with all the info I have.
If you see this TOO LATE... please do not worry.. I am sure that whom ever you are with... WILL be on the list so that if you need to call someone in our group... you can.
God Bless all you sweet sisters.... and I am SO SO HAPPY to be seeing you/meeting you... this year!
TATA SISTERHOOD ROCKS ! ( as Jaz says...)
SUSIE... KEEP ADDING THE O's. SOON... it will be Friday... and it will be just like I say...
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
ONCE BIG HAPPY HAPPY WORD!
-
Jancie, my PCP is at a teaching office and I have not had any problems having them in w/ the doctor. I usually have something uniquie that they have no idea what it is about.
3 days till I will be in VEGAS and can not wait.
See you all in VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heymoose

Journey, Sandy and I will keep you company at the bar and slots with "curls".
Does it really matter if your suitcase is too big because of the wheels and handles??? I have seen people squeeze suitcases OVERSTUFFED BEYOND BELIEF into those overheads. You can always try it and if it doesn't fit they will check it at the door. At least that way you will be assured that your luggage is on the plane.
Better go thing about packing. It is so danged hot here that I will be relieved to be in 99 degrees!!!

Today I rode my horse for the first time in 3 weeks after that small surgical procedure. I actually galloped her for the first time since my bad accident on April 27th where I broke 4 ribs and screwed up my hip really bad.
In any case, Laura (Estepp) has requested that I stay off my horse until after this trip. I can't do that - but I promise not to gallop her on Wednesday when my trainer is coming out. I will do a very easy simple ride so that I won't get hurt before the trip.
On my ride home from the barn I was thinking "geez....that was kind of stupid, I could have gotten hurt right before Vegas" but at the time all I was thinking about was how wonderful it was to be back on her once again.
-
Traceyz - do you have black eyes also? Is the swelling going to make it difficult to do your job due to high altitudes.
-
Diane - I am always up for cheap meals - I would rather spend my money on booze!
-
Jancie you are cracking me up! But I agree with Laura: stay off that horse till after you are back!
Jennifer -- hell no on the diet and exercise this weekend -- we begin the working out and slimming down on Tuesday, October 5
Suzy -- love the countdowns!
-
JANCIE, NO I DIDNT GET THE BLACK EYES BUT IM REALLY SWOLLEN AND MY NOSE LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE PUNCHED ME IN IT! LOL BUT ITS OK CUS I WILL STILL BE THERE WITH BELLS ON TO PARRRRRRRRRTY!!!!!!
-
And you will be beautiful Tracey! And by Friday I'll bet a lot of the swelling will be gone
-
WHAT DID I MISS... WHY DID TRACEY have surgery on her nose???????????? LOL
-
Laura - I bet Traceyz had surgery on her nose so that she wouldn't snore and keep me up at night. That was so extremely thoughtful of her!
-
Jancie LOL
-
LOL....jancie.....you are gonna be the life of the party
OK...trip/flying anxiety is setting in.....did not sleep last night
Pray that I will get some much needed sleep the rest of the week so I will be rested...got to party with my TATA's
-
Linda, one word . . . melatonin!! LOL
I'm not quite there yet, anxious, that is. I'm packing in my head. You know how that goes; going over my outfits in my head. I'm planning to put it all together tomorrow night. I want to be done packing Wed so I can relax with my family on Thursday night and focus on DS, who is 9. Last year, the night before DH and I left him for a week with MIL to go to Napa, we were running around packing and he broke down at bedtime, sobbing "don't leave me". It was heart wrenching. I'd like to do something fun with him Thursday night and spend some quality snuggle time.
Tracey, I hope everything is ok with your nose! Surgery right before Vegas?! You are brave! LOL
Jazzy and Lilah, how are you feeling today? Any better?
-
Tracey and our sick friends, you will be better and feeling no pain very soon!!
Went to NYC yesterday for one year checkup, went great, yahoo! Tomorrow I leave for San Francisco for a quick visit with my dd, it's sort of on the way to Vegas, right?! Then Friday, you know where we'll be. Hope I'm not too confused about where I am, at least no more than normal!
Happy packing and see you FRIDAY!
-
Suzie- You mentioned working out, which I'd love to do there.....okay, don't y'all hate me now! I just checked and it looks like the fitness center charges $25 per visit, though you do get fruit and coffee....what the heck? Never heard of a hotel charging for the fitness center, but then again, I've never been to Vegas.... Anybody planning to work out there? Just wondered if I should pack my sneakers and stuff.....
-
$25 !!!!!!
I will take a break from working out since I have been hitting it hard the last few weeks....I can workout at home.
-
Val61-Thanx for checking that out..But I too will pass on the $25, would rather spend it on gifts for the family. My thought's..if I can get out of bed...go by the pool & stretch Just depends on how much walking/partying & what time we all get to bed the nite before. Girls that are resting & healing--you make sure not to overdo & we will see you so very soon!!!
Ok here we go TA TA'S........2,880 minutes........48 hours.........2 days till VEGAS WAHOO!!
And another WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Take care Chow XOXO Susie
-
Thanks girls for all of your concern! I think I'm getting off of the couch today. Honestly I haven't moved from the couch for 2 days and I slept the entire day yesterday...only woke up to go to the bathroom, post a couple of times and answer a couple of texts,,,(ahem) ;-) I actually feel like I have enough energy to take a shower! WOO HOO!!! I'm still very congested and sweaty, but much much better!! Now I can think about where I'm going on Friday! I haven't thought about it really, haven't thought about much actually. lol
Anyway have a great day!!!
HUGS!! Jazzy
-
Val, I was hoping to work out. I need something to do in the morning (I'll be on East coast time) while everyone else is sleeping! I guess they charge so you won't use the gym but will be in casinos gambling instead! LOL! What else is there to do between the hours of 0400 & 0900 in Vegas???
-
Hood1980 between 0400 and 0900 - SANE PEOPLE are sleeping!!
Val - check in with Tracey - I know she is a huge workout person. I was barely out of bed leaving to go get coffee and here comes Tracey down the hall in her work out outfit - she had already been at the gym.
-
I'll be working out. Although I'm staying at a different hotel. I'll be missing my weight workout on Friday since I'll have my butt in an airplane seat, so I'd like to get a workout in Saturday. And I definitely need to get some cardio in to burn off all the food/alcohol calories from the weekend! Now I just have to make sure I'm not hungover! It doesn't take much since chemo to make me feel like junk the next day.
-
Val, I'll bring some shorts and sneakers - not sure about the fitness room, but I like to go on long, brisk walks.
