YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS JAZ.. I was JUST WATCHING THIS AND POSTING ABOUT IT?????????
WHAT CRAZY IRONY
-
Crazy irony indeed, Laura. Another word for it is: epidemic.
Sandy Sunshine -- there are some nice hikes in the Red Rocks Canyon which is close to Las Vegas... beautiful hills there and you can get the parks rangers there to give you a map, if it interests you, to find hieroglyphs in the caves at the edges of some of those hills. I drove the canyon some years ago and we did short hikes from the road to the heiroglyphs.
Ladies -- I truly look forward to meeting all of you!
-
I have just viewed the video clip where Dr. Weiss relates her very personal journey with BC.
Here's the link: http://www.breastcancer.org/about_us/press_room/press_kit/video/mw_message.jsp
-
OK.. I have missed something...
JAZ.. why did you take your posts off????? I hope it was not something I did. I just want to re-post I made a personal choice not to get the media involved... and only for 1 lady in our group that I adore and know needs privacy. ...
I will be off the boards for a few days.. but I wanted to post this .. I hope I did not make you or Jancie feel I thought your amazing excitement and thoughts to get media or whoever involved was a HORRID thing....
...... I KNOW your heart is about a big as...say..... NEW YORK CITY!....
Anyway... I could not part BCO for a few days without saying this..........xxxooo
-
I tried to view the clip but I guess my computer speed isn't fast enough because it kept breaking up and doing that pause thing every 3 to 4 words so I couldn't understand what kind of BC she was diagnosed with.
Laura - I don't know if my heart is as big as NYC but I am sure my arse is - LMAO
-
TO THE ORIGINAL LAURA.... THANK YOU FOR COMING TO TELL ME TO HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND CAN I TELL YOU SOMETHING>>>>
HAPPY 5 YEAR CANCERVERSARY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIRL.. you made it... the BIG 5!!!!!
Congrats to you.. and I hope someday... we meet! You were a great inspiration to me over two years ago when I started this crappola...lol......
-
Heymoose - only 2 days to recuperate? Heck it took me almost 2 weeks!
I told my dh when he was making airline reservations that I didn't want to fly out any earlier than 2 pm. Last year I made the mistake of having a noon flight back which forced me to get up by 8:30 am. This time I don't leave until 6:30 pm so I have plenty of time to sleep in on Monday!!
I am slowly learning as I get older - never be in a rush to get back home after a party weekend!
-
It's official...Jazzy is sick...wah! Lets hope I'm better by Friday!
Laura I took all of the lists off because so many people were concerned about privacy. I'm my lists I not only showed screen names but also real names...I should never have done that. Sorry gang...wasn't thinking.
-
Good morning ladies!
Today I am going shopping for Vegas.. Picking up all the last little odds and ends that need to be bought..
I am now counting down the days...5 more days till I meet a bunch of wonderful women in person for the first time! 4 more till I land in Vegas! Only a 3 day work week! Gotta love it!!!!!
See you all soon.... Jennifer (JKZ)
-
Aw Jazzy me too -- bad cold all of last week -- hoping to be better by Friday!!!
-
Lilah - Jazzy - ya'll had better get well really quick!!! We will not be sleeping much for 4 days so there is no time to be sick!
I went out and bought a travel toothbrush and toothpaste - just hope I don't forget it.
I would go ahead and stick it in my suitcase but right now it is full of dh's clothes - he just got back yesterday so I will be hounding him fast to get it emptied. I need to make sure Linda54's t-shirt is in there!!! Sorry, I keep putting that out here on the board but it is like a personal reminder to me - I would so hate to disappoint her having a chemo brain moment.
-
I have now heard from all of the 2nd group members arriving at the airport! Thanks all of you for responding back to my pm's. Now I just need to make a list combining all of the information.
-
jancie-- PM me your cell number...please?? JUDY
-
Hi everyone- I'm BACK!!! Sorry I will be out of town from FRI to MON-- I will be in LAS VEGAS !!!!
I can't believe it, it is less than a week away!! I printed the schedule, have all the reservations and my toothbrush (and floss) and I'm READY!!!! JUDY
-
TRACEY - ROFL at all the typos on the PM I sent you last night. OMG!!!!
Ladies in some ways time is crawling, and other times I'm like "Oh no! I have so much to get done before I leave!" Here's hoping for a stress free week for all of us.
Jazzy & Lilah - take care of yourselves and get better quick!
-
Okay ladies... I just about have it all together.. Just waiting for the 3 pretty expensive bc shirts I bought on-line over 10 days ago and still have not received! I did call UPS and they promise to have them to me by Wednesday.. I leave on Thursday so that is cutting it really close... My Viva La Tata's shirt is in this order so please pray that it get's to me..
So how many nights do you think we will be getting dressed up? I really like to dress casual so hopefully not many..LOL. I am all in for shorts, Capri's (my fav) and cute tops or tees...So hopefully that will do the trick! Can't wait to the meet and greet. See you all soon.
-
I had so much I wanted to do this week...I cannot go without a pedi...but if I don't get better I aint going anywhere except the airport on friday! I've been sleeping all day so hopefully that is making me better! If I'm not better tomorrow I will call the dr cuz this always turns into a sinus infection.
OK more drugs and more sleep....get excited while I'm sleeping!!!
p.s. thanks for the well wishes...they've gotta help!
HUGS! Jazzy

Jennifer - I think Friday night at La Scena is the dress up night - cute black dress, heels (low for me) from what I was told - get dressed for the meet and greet and the city center because we are heading straight from there to La Scena. If it is more than a 15 minute walk I am getting a cab because of (1) major hot flashes wearing a black dress and (2) heels - not something I typically wear.
For the rest of the weekend at ALL events I will either be wearing shorts or capris with tennis shoes mainly. Especially the piano bar on Saturday night - tennis shoes for sure because we end up dancing most of the night and early morning and your feet will KILL YOU especially if someone convinces you it is not a long walk to the hotel (I am ratting out Packergirl on this one - LOL )
I went to Steinmart and bought some really cute summer tops, 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of capris and that is what I am bringing with me other than the black dress that I also got specifically for Friday night. Now if I am the only one dressed up on Friday - ohhhhhhhhh somebody like Jazzy is going to pay a huge price for that one!
-
Gals - for those that didn't go last year - it is really hot in Vegas right now!! The temperature may be in the 90's but it will feel like 100 degrees or more.
-
Well I shall not be wearing a dress at all ... but will try to dress up a bit for Friday night
-
Alright Jancie!!! Don't go blamin' me!! I'm the one that said you can wear whatever you want! In Vegas....everybody wears whatever they want..some dress up some don't no biggie. I need fat tops...and I only have a couple...so thats what I'm wearing! Jancie will probably look th e hottest! Actually ...when they see us comin...WATCH OUT!
-
"Jancie stomps her feet" - I don't want to be the only one wearing a dress!!! Come on ladies - someone else has to wear one for Friday night - I hate being the odd ball out!
I am going to wear my fake pony tail though! Ya'll have to see this - it is really awesome! It clips and wraps around a regular pony tail and goes down to the bra line. Nobody can tell it is fake hair! My hair is just long enough to put in a 1" ponytail so I am going to wear this extension on Friday night and maybe my sexy long strawberry blonde wig for breakfast on Saturday just for fun but after that I am going "natural" Anybody want to play dress up with wigs, I have 2 really long ones (blonde and strawberry blonde) and then a nice red wig that goes to the bra line. I can bring them with me!
I have donated 2 of my wigs but I just can't seem to part with the others.
-
LOL Jancie you GO girl!
Jazzy -- I'm with you in the fat tops
But I like to think of them as stylish LOOSE tops!
-
Jazzy and Lilah, hope you are feeling better soon.
Jancie, I will be wearing a dress on Friday and possibly Sunday. My Mom will be dressed up every night, she loves to.
To the girls arriving on Thursday. I will PM you for the get together at PH on Monday evening.
Watch out VEGAS here come the TA TA'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See everyone soon.
-
Jancie, I have a dress for Friday nite! Hoping to wear some nice shoes, stop stomping so your feet hold up! Other than that, capris, casual skirt, light shirts for outside and sweaters to layer for inside the casinos.
-
Jancie...I'm with you - I'll be wearing a dress and heels! Come to think of it, I need to try on my dresses and see if any of them still fit over these new puppies
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terri
-
Yay! I feel so much better now. I still have the tags on my dress and if nobody was going to wear one I was going to return it and get my money back!
My560SEL - I sure wish foobies or boobies or whatever was the reason I had to buy new clothes but unfortunately it is those darn 30 lbs I gained while doing chemo. By this time next year I hope to be giving these new clothes away and be in a smaller size.
-
Jancie-I too have a fake curly ponytail that I am bringing and will wear. Wish I had the bod for a dress, but my body is best kept hidden under dark clothes...lol! I might shop tomorrow for an outfit that will keep me cool from the flashes and magically erase 30 pounds! Spanx anyone???
-
Kjbell - oh this is exactly why I went for a simple black dress. I just wish my arms were thinner. I went from a size 4 to a size 10/12 from those freaking 30 lbs. I hate my body right now.
I thought of spanx but then again I would probably sweat too much - too hot in Vegas and I don't take the heat well. I bought a dress that just hangs so my belly fat doesn't show so bad.
-
Aw Jancie -- I hear ya! Me too on the chemo weight! I am sure you will look gorgeous
