CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS

I have been on this board for a week now and just now found this section! I am so glad I did. My situation is in the bottom of my profile here. I would love to have some support from you gals going through a similar diagnosis. I have my SN biopsy scheduled for Thursday this week. Hoping and praying there is no node involvement. Just trying to get ready mentally and physically for this new journey ahead of me. I feel good today - I kind of feel like I want to kick some cancer a$$!
-
mdg-welcome is not a very good word when refering to joining a community of folks with BC, I'll use it anyway! The very best of Christmas miracles for negative node involvement for you on Thursday. Keep up the attitude-it will help you through!
-
mdg -Welcome , sorry to have you hear under these circumstances. You will find lots of love and support here. Feel free to ask lots of questions. Good luck on your SNB on Thurs.
-
mdg-glad you found us here, you will find lots of great support on these threads and lots of good information. Good Luck on your SNB.

I would say "thanks for the welcome and I am glad to be here, but....." It is nice to find some other gals with stage I. I am still in the throws of it all being only confirmed with cancer last week. I am in MI and am blessed to have 2 big cancer centers here. I spent the day at U o Mich yesterday and got so much information. I do feel a lot better after having some idea of what is going to happen moving forward. I am getting my second opinion on Jan 3rd. Right after that I am scheduling things and moving forward. ANyone have BLMX? I would love to get some insight from you gals. I am a big worrier and I have a young child (4 year old little boy) so I want to avoid as much chance of possible of reoccurance so I want to be aggresive. Surgeons think it is a great choice for me although I am a candidate for lumpectomy and rads. Anyone able to answer some questions about BLMX with Stage I? I can private message my questions if anyone will step up!
I guess I should tell you a little more about myself since we are all going to be hanging out together. I am 44, married and have a darling little boy (he's my joy!). I work full time in surgical sales (waiting for a layoff - which couldn't be more perfect timing in my opinion). We live in metro Detroit and have both of our families close by. I am very active - I workout a lot and teach aerobics a few days a week. We love to travel, cook great food (I am Italian!) and drink good wine. (can I drink wine on Tamoxofin??? Lord I hope so. Wine should be a part of the treatment plan...don't you think???). Oh, and in case you didn't know, I have breast cancer (ha ha). Nice to meet all of you wonderful ladies!
-
Welcome mdg. You seem to have a good plan. And second opnions are always good.
-
Greetings, my Stage 1 Sisters! I'm doing my virtual baking today, and decorated these just for you. So fresh, I haven't even put them on the holiday platter yet.
-
Welcome mdg! Sounds like you've got a plan.
Thanks to all you wonderful sisters for the Welcome Home... surgery went well! Spent the night at the hospital last night and came home today. It took about 2 1/2 hrs for my surgery. The doctor told my husband after the surgery was over that he wished he could have done more to my right breast (the rads breast) but it looked like a piece of wood. He said if the right one needed anything else done he could do it in the office. The left side had a lot more done to it than the right so it is more swollen. My pain level is not as bad as what I expected it to be, but I am on some good meds. I'm getting rather sleepy so I'll talk to you ladies later.

Mdg, you can pm me as well if you'd like anytime. I had lumpectomy, reexicision and then the bmx w/te. Take care.
Hi Renee, Thinking of you. You are so strong and great. Talk soon.

Hi, I'm in the same catagory as you with triple neg. Stage 1, 1.2 cm. I had a lumpectomy and trying to make a decision on chemo. Also going for radiation. After you had chemo how did you feel? Any bad reactions or nausea? It took me a long time to decide about chemo but I think I'm taking it because they said there is a 30% chance it will come back without it. Please reply if possible and good luck with everything.
-
Welcome congetta - sorry you have to be here with us.
I had a lumpectomy, but did not have to do chemo, did do 6 weeks of rads. I can't help you with the chemo issues but can answer questions about rads. There is lots and lots of support here and other ladies that can help you with chemo.
Good Luck to you

Up early this morning with a mission in mind. I am off today and have some things to get done today. I have to get some grocery shopping done, get the dog some food and pick out some fabric for a new quilt project. Just gonna hit the ground running and get it done.
In our park, the residents put on a Christmas pageant every year. Tonight we have to do a preview show at one of the local churches. DH and I are the innkeepers. That should be fun. Have to read lines and get the costumes out of the closet.
Looking to have a better day
Thanks ladies for all your support and love
-
jo1955 - so good to see that you are on a mission today - always good to have things to do that occupy your mind - have a good day

Hi everyone, I am knew to this thread, I have been on the chemo/dec 10 thread. I am also stage 1, TN, no nodes and I was wondering what treatments you are getting? I have my second T/C treatment tomorrow. 4 treatments will be given. Just wondering if anyone else with TN is dong the same treatment? I got 2 opinions, Dana Farber and another breast center, they both say they didn't recommend the "A" red devil because no proof it does anything more when you are node negative (all other scans, x-rays were cancer-free also). But said I certainly could have it if I wanted it, but no proof and the side effects were more than the T/C. Was interested in anyone's opinion of this. 2nd chemo tomorrow, 1st one went ok...side effect was no sleep, finally got something after 6 days to help with that!! Hope everyone is doing well with your treatments! Merry Christmas, and thanks for the warm welcome!!!
-
