I am so happy all's well with you. I am doing great. Japan must be a beautiful place all the pretty flowers. I am due for a Colonoscopy next year, I had one 4 years ago and they found a B9 polyp. If nothing shows this time then it will be every 10 yrs.

How about it girls. Any weekend in Aug. for Lobster or something.
-
Welcome KWolf. We are trying for a get together in the Gloucester area.
-
I'm available only on the 21st (early in the day) & 28th. Beaches in Gloucester have been packed this summer. It's just been so hot and the water soooooooooo warm! So a beach picnic on a gorgeous Saturday might not be very relaxing. There are other lot's of other choices, good restaurants, park like picnic areas on the ocean, etc....
It doesn't seem that there's been much interest for a summer meet & greet, perhaps people are just too busy with kids, vacations, house guests, etc.... Let us know yawl!
-
Let's try for September, I will be mountain climbing the weekend of the 11th but anyother Sat or Sun is OK with me.
glostagirl, you know your area well, what would you suggest?
-
Am headed to Gloucester this weekend. Sept. sounds great. Less crowded. Glostagirl, I was surprised the water was so warm when we were there a few weeks ago. The beaches were more crowded than usual. Lots of great weather to enjoy.
-
This has been an amazing beach summer. Yes the water is quite warm and clean. People are coming in droves. If you're not at one of the bigger "pay to park" beaches by 10:00am on a weekend, you're not getting in, it's been crazy. A part of that is because they save a lot of spaces for residents.
Anyway, September sounds great too, it doesn't even have to be in Gloucester if that's the consensus, I'm up for just about anything. I know Salem, MA really well too, as I lived there for quite a number of years.
Nicole, enjoy your weekend here, what beach do you go to? I live on the Back Shore, quite near Good Harbor.
-
My DH is a DH. He does not like to sit at a beach of any sorts. Even when we owned a camp on Lake Winnipesaukee I would be at the beach from 10 am to 5 pm he would be up at the camp.
-
I'm open to anyplace.

Count me in as well and September does sound alot better.......
-
Here's my local knowledge:
Blackburn Tavern is no longer in business, I think it's a Greek restaurant now, haven't tried it yet.
Causeway is a popular locals kind of place, very small, no ambience, but good food cheap, mostly fried, I hear the chowder is good. Probably not good for a party of over 10-12.
Lobsta Land is somewhat rustic, good food, lots of seafood, is on the highway but over looks pretty marshland, reasonable $$.
Gloucester House is somewhat of a tourist trap, bus tours go there, very bland atmosphere.
Mad Fish Grille, great location on Rocky Neck, good food, funky atmosphere. I know the owner and if we had a large group could easily get us a reservation and maybe a private room, reasonable $$.
A few other recommendations,
Latitude 43 which is on the harbor with nice views, good seafood, moderately expensive.
Alchemy, not on the water but funky atmosphere (newly renovated) and varied, interesting menu, reasonable $$.
Passports, downtown good food, interesting menu, reasonable $$.
Hope that's helpful. Late September is best for me.

You choose glostagirl, you seem to know whats best. If we were meeting in my town it would be the Glenview in Chelmsford.
-
I just copied and pasted off the internet. Shows how up to date they are.
-
I used to go to McT's or something like that, it was always closed on Mondays. The view was a little parking place for boats but it still was nice. Gone now.
-
Passports has fantastic popovers. My favorite restaurant. I've wanted to try Latitude 43.
-
deborye, McT's is now Latitude 43, same view of the docks and fishing wharves. I recommend it. The decor is nice, the menu varied and interesting. If it's a nice day we could eat out side on the deck. Also, it's easy for out-of-towners to find and park. Now we just need a date. I'm tied up the 1st 2 Sat.s in Sept., the next few are the 18th (Yom Kippur), 25th or perhaps Oct. 2.
It's beautiful here in Sept and Oct. a very nice time to visit as the beach going tourists are gone and if anyone wants to they can park and walk the beaches with no fee. The drive around Cape Ann on RT. 127 is gorgeous too, I highly recommend it to anyone that comes up.
Yes, the popovers are awesome at Passports, I could make a meal out of just them!
-
Latitude 43 it is!
Put some dates out there and see what response we get. I'll go even if there are just a few of us.
Three of us met in Marlboro a while back and it was till nice.
-
Latitude 43 sounds great. Are we planning on a Sat? Sept 11 or 18th is good. The following two weekends are bike rides. This will be fun.
-
Ok then, shall we shoot for Saturday the 18th at Latitude 43? I'm up for it too even if there are only a few of us. I know a few gals here who might like to join us, one who just finished treatment and two who are just beginning.
-
18th sounds good for me too.....let me know what I can do to help out you ladies......
-
Great. I will plan on visiting family that weekend. Are we planning on lunch? I teach Sunday School so i will have to drive back to Maine that evening. I am looking forward to this.
-
The 18th is good for me. The 11th DD and I are climbing Mt. Washington.
-
It will be nice to see you again June.
