Outrunning, thinking of you and hope the run went as you desired. Scottiemom, we have 9 months of rain here -ugh, inspired by your gym work, you too Cheryl. Wonderland, I have water supply pipe insurance I buy yearly to pay for what you are going through. Our homeowners policy does not cover - hence, extra policy.

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. Yesterday was the big exam and honestly, I don't know, felt very flat afterwards and don't think I did well on the written part. Not one of us had a solid sense of how we did and the officious adjudicator made sure the tension was palatable. On Monday, I'll start typing up the large case study due by December 9th. Today - a day of chilling out, Sunday paper reading and a damp woods dog walk in the afternoon. Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!

hi all and welcome Frill, Cubbie & JerseyGirl. This is IMHO the best thread on BCO. I'm crazy busy these days and not on-line much but I always come here to be lifted up and inspired. Ruth, perfect saying about light-bringers.

Happy belated Birthday #60 LB! I'll be there in a few years and y'all make it look good.

Mary love that cabin in the woods and have fond memories of visiting. Commute time will be the same in new house, we're only a mile or so from current place. But we're going from 800 to 1,200 sq ft which is still pretty small but it'll feel big to us. One room is long & narrow and I plan to make the far end a yoga studio. We close this week then will be able to get in and assess the situation. New flooring for sure and a bathroom remodel to be done before we move in, plus a thorough cleaning.

Enjoyed an unbelievably nice stretch of late-fall weather including days with what Wonderland would call Carolina Blue skies so got in lots of walking. My body didn't adjust to time change the first week so was up an hour early and used the time for morning walks. Back on track now so walking after work albeit in the dark. Getting colder but I don't mind a bit. :-)

Roast beast for supper then a trip to the home improvement store. Have a great week ahead!

Yesterday was lots and lots of housework, vacuuming, dusting, toilet and shower cleaning, mopping, picking up and putting away, laundry, organizing, cooking, groceries, etc, etc, then about 90 minutes 'helping' DH clean up the garage (I'm the power behind the throne in that process but I let him think he's in charge), followed by more housework while he went hunting with a friend.

Today was week 1, day 3 of C25K on a beautiful, cool, cloudless west Michigan day.

    Love to all.

Good to see you badger. Moving is a lot of work but fun as you get to remodel into a new space and you bought bigger as well, that's a plus.

Church this morning and getting ready to attack the garage. My brother arrives on Tuesday for a week and we have to make room in the golf cart garage for the golf cart we will rent for a few days. Golf carts are the preferred mode of travel around The Villages (for many, not all) though we cover three counties here in FL. We are doing it just to give him the experience and have fun.

May take a bike ride later if I finish before dark.

    Later sculpted friends.

Patoo every day you make your place sound more appealing. Golf carts!!!!!!!

Badger it's funny you mention Carolina blue skies. I always associate a certain sky with Door County! It's bluer. probably cleaner, maybe less humidity. I'm not really sure what components but it's a Door County sky to me.

LB I hope you did better than you feel and most likely you did. I'll be crossing my fingers for you.

Today I went on a different trail. It was a beautiful day and enjoyed a 45 minute walk.

Carolina Blue or Door County Skies - whatever you call skies like that I sure do miss them! We have had nothing but gray and/or rainy skies for days and days now. It's time for some blue!

Badger: I know you can't wait to remodel and move into your new home. We also are having our bathrooms remodeled (just new countertops and sinks) and new floor in the den and hallway.

Patoo: Have fun with your brother!

Walked/ran late this afternoon. Made it home right before it turned too dark.

LilacBlue. . .Lol, I spent a semester in Plymouth during college and then a postgrad internship in Manchester. Dh who also sent time in London and I have been laughing that our weather is very English and our yard is very lush for November. Hope your birthday was great. I have one coming up.

Sweet. . .wow, you are inspiring. I barely have the energy after work and gym to touch the growing piles on papers and stuff in our house. Somehow, I need to start getting a handle on it. Ideally, I need to buy a neat desk for Xmas and a giant shredder.

Badger. . Dh told me when we built our house that I could remodel as often as I like but never move again. Since then, we have repurposed/redecorated several room. Had to switch around 3 room to give my dd a "college dorm room" two years ago. Lots of fun to redecorate even on a budget.

Patoo. . .it does sound great where you live!

As for me, now that soccer is over, I should be back in the gym daily and back to hiking on the weekends. Yesterday I photographed the whole semifinal conference game as our regular photographer was unable to attend. I am paying for that in spades. Apparently, I was not yet up to holding up my camera and zoom lens for 2 hours. Another thing to work on. Uggh

Hi All! I walked for 45 minutes yesterday & spent the rest of Saturday and today, helping DS with his move. It's a nice little house & will be really cute when it's all done, but whew! lots of work getting to that point! I am going to do some pilates now before I crash (if I type it, I have to do it, right?).

Absolutely does count. Movement is movement and you were exercising your lungs - aerobic exercise.

Did my 10k Across the [Chesapeake] Bay yesterday. 1:07:10 was my final official time. Better than 11 min pace and better than half finishers for all categories. (Overall, women, and age group) I'm happy.

Exhausted though. Slept on the hour drive home and then some more when we go home. And then 9 hours last night, although not solid.

I needed a nap Saturday before the race too and missed going in the pool at the hotel with the kids. Radiation is kicking my butt. Skin isn't too bad but I'm pretty tired.6 more to go. And a magazine deadline to wrestle to the ground this week too.

I'm going to need a new goal to motivate to get up and exercise now.

    Prayers for Annie and

    Belated happy birthday to Lilac

Goodness Outrunning, I need to take a nap from just reading about your 10K! Congratulations!!! Maybe just coast a little until you are done with radiation (and remember it will stay in your system until about 2 weeks after). It's okay to let yourself heal a little.

Thinking of you, Annie. Yes, that will be a good thing to be DONE with!!

Lilac, like Cheryl said, you did your best on the test & that is all you can do.

    I am off to yoga.

Annie - here's hoping for a smooth surgery and a quick recovery!

Outrunning - I'm in awe of a sub-11 pace, especially during rads. You rock!!

Peggy - hope you feel better soon!

Badger - your new place sounds great - I love the idea of your own little yoga studio!

Sweet - that C25K program is effective to get back into running after a layoff, isn't it? I love that each day pushes me to do just a bit more, but keeps me from overdoing and getting injured.

We did a six mile mountain hike yesterday - it was a crisp fall day with beautiful blue skies and perfect for hiking. The trail we were on is also open to mountain bikers. We saw a few of them go by - I don't know how they do it, bumping along a narrow trail over all the rocks and leaves. More power to them. Did a 30 minute run this morning.

Well, last week started with frustration at my last chemo being delayed... HOWEVER, blessings abound. I have gotten more energy each day, walked everyday and even made it to church and a movie!!!! Whoohoo! SIt feels good to experience that there is life after this whole chemo thing...

Just got word that my last chemo will be tomorrow, and it's only Herceptin and Perjeta! Yay! That means no steroids and no Nuelasta shot!!!! YAY! Then it's onto surgery in December! With only one Herceptin only infusion inbetween...

Going to go enjoy a walk in the state park near our house on this brisk autumn morning!

Water aerobics then lunch with friends. Looking forward to my brother coming tomorrow. He is going to love it here but he has a full life back in NYC so probably won't want to give that up and his wife probably won't want him so close to his sisters. ThumbsDown

Annie: We will be with you on Wednesday.

JerseyGirl: Use that energy and party tomorrow!

Outrunning: Wow! That's impressive! Glad you are napping - radiation takes a lot out of you.

Patoo: Enjoy every minute with your brother.

Rain, rain, rain all day. Walked/ran in the house. Then went to homeless shelter to help serve supper.
