NatsFan, thanks for the link! Sounds like exactly what I need.

I have never actually been to Wrigley, believe it or not. It's on my bucket list, for sure.

Got to the Y a bit early tonight, so was able to get in 45 minutes of walking.

walked 30 today but all of your interesting activities are motivating me to branch out. I'm enjoying the image of trying to run in the house with the cats flipping out!

    Night all.

Scottie your Thanksgiving vacation sounds perfect. Kathy great news on your once visit. Patoo sounds like your community is very active and the massage sounds divine. Wonderland hope the leak is a quick fix.

Yesterday did 30 minutes of RPM and Body Jam and tonight Grit Strength, came home made myself dinner and then promptly fell asleep on the couch for two hours, so now I will probably be awake half the night

Hello all... Well, you are my inspiration! I'm delayed on my last chemo until next Tuesday, and feel better each day, right now... before chemo I was working out to P90 again, walking everyday, had lost 30 lbs and was feeling pretty good. Then wham! BC DX.... started chemo and it kicked my butt so hard that walking to my mailbox (225 ft driveway) up and back was all I could do. I've walked, cleaned, and generally gotten "life stuff" done the last three days. Plan to keep it up until Last chemo Tuesday... just want to get back to feeling healthy and somewhat normal again... Surgery set for either Dec. 7th or 8th... BMX....

Thanks for being out here! I plan to be out here more as I prep for surgery and then beyond... Y'all are inspiring and encouraging warriors!

Jersey, I know that Natsfan was a 'only could walk to the mailbox' chemo gal, and now she is running half marathons on occasion!

OMG, I just looked out the window and there is SNOW coming down! The party is apparently over......I better find a snow brush before I head out to Cardio Sculpt.Shocked

Kindergarten - great on the MO appt and sunshine hope yours goes well tomorrow. Scottie - your Tkg sounds like our cabin with the lack of links to the world. I love love love being out of touch! Wonder - what a mess - did you suffer any damage or lose any items to the water? Jersey - Ruth exaggerates - I couldn't even make it to the mailbox during chemo! But once chemo is done, you'll have a few weeks before surgery to get some strength back, then after surgery you'll be able to start back for real. Walking is a great place to begin. It takes time to get back to yourself, but start small and keep at it, and it will happen. Congrats on just having one more chemo to go!

    Ruth - SNOW????!!!!???????

Thirty minute run this morning. A lovely 6 point buck ran right past me. I don't think he even saw me - the deer have other things on their minds this time of year!

Kindergarten, It is the CEA. Supposed to be below 2 and is 7.9.

Jerseygirl, Same for me. I was so weak during chemo. At 3 1/2 post, I am walking 3 - 4 miles a day!

    ruthbru - snow - Yikes!

3 mile Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds class. Then sweep and steam clean tile floors. Went with my sister who may be interested in joining one of the synchronized aquatic swim groups to watch them practice. I'm not a swimmer but looks like fun. Then pedicures and back home. Yes hbcheryl it is super active and I'm thrilled that mysunshine48 will be moving here soon.

    Night sculpted friends.

Welcome, Frill, Cubbie and Jerseygirl. I couldn't walk around the block after chemo and couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without stopping. It was pretty frightening, but it turns out it is not permanent!

Cubbie, where are you located? I'm in the northern suburbs. I'm a life long Cubs fan, although I can't say I have time for baseball viewing anymore.

Natsfan you should be totally proud of running a 10K even at a measly 3 minutes slower.

The time change has messed up my walking a bit. I walked yesterday at lunch for 24 minutes, and intended to walk after work today. We still have warm weather but its dark after I finish dinner. Time for that gym membership.

Wonderland, hope your plumbing issue is a quick fix and only a minor inconvenience.

    Ruth, snow already?? Seriously??

Exercise for me was bootcamp Tuesday, 30 minutes on the Elliptical last night and bootcamp again tonight. Now off to soak my weary muscles in the hot tub before bed. Night all!

Welcome Jerseygirl. OMG Ruth snowing, guess your garden projects are over. Odie I envy the hot stub. TH I have to admit the time change bothers me driving, especially on the freeway I don't know what it is but for the first few weeks I just don't like driving in peak hour in the dark.

    Tonight did Body Step class.

Welcome PeggySull, Cubbie, Jerseygirl and Frill - the active inspiration here is awesome. Mary, well done on your 10k and read as a challenge and you did it really well. Ruth, snow report already - mall walking photos to follow. Kindergarten, good report, Odie, you are amazing you too Cheryl and TwoHobbies, I wish we could skip the time change and miss late evening light. Scottiemom, like your Thanksgiving plans.

Well, I did it turned 60 yesterday and lived to tell the tale. Got some lovely flowers, cards, gifts and dinner at fave fish place. Saturday is my big exam day and I'm nervous and doing my best. So not much exercise to report, other than a few cover classes, as I've kept my nose in books. Fingers crossed, all goes well. Have a super weekend everyone!

My bf has forbidden exercise for a few days! :(

On Tues I had an MRI biopsy. Who hasn't had like 5 billion biopsies. Anyway, this one woke me up in the middle of the night hurting so bad. No worries, I was having an ultrasound biopsy the next day! I managed to make it in to the front desk and was shuttled back to a room with icepacks, then taken back for the biopsy. The kind, older German radiologist came in and threw a fit when he saw me. I said to please at least take a look since I was there and I could suck it up. He was showing his gaggle of nurses - this is the area of concern. And this is what they want me to look at BAH! This is nothing!!!! (Secretly thinking, YES! please be right!).

He called my team's doctors over for a meeting to find out why they'd scheduled two types of biopsies back to back like that. The PA had to meet with me immediately about why I was in so much pain and get me pain meds.

So, I struggled through the 4 hour drive home.

BF is worried about me doing anything upper body - the biopsies are on the side of my left breast. He thinks that push ups or planks will irritate it.

What do y'all think? Wait and see attitude? Try it and see? Stop if it hurts? Right now I'm on pain meds - Tramadol, never been on that one - is it watered down Vicodin? So I'm sort of not wanting to do too much, but I'd force myself through a challenge series

Good morning ladies- I had company in town, then travel and a bit off with my exercise, but back to the gym last night for a 100 min yoga class. Going to the gym again this afternoon, for my resistance training and something cardio.

Frill, do NOT do upper body right now. BF is right, everything is irrated! Do abs, lower body, take a brisk (or not so brisk) walk, or even just rest (that is really okay too every once and awhile).

Happy Birthday, Lilac!!!! Good luck on your test.

I just did a pilates DVD & am going over to help DH paint......I will get a workout of a sort with that, I think. DH and I are going to a Rick Springfield concert tonight, a blast from the past.

    Happy Friday!

Frill - You poor thing! That drive home must have seemed like it took forever. As for exercise, I second what Ruth said. Your upper body has gone through a trauma, and you do not need to further traumatize it with exercise. While all of us are exercise freaks here, we've also learned (sometimes the hard way) that sometimes you have to back off and allow your body to heal. Let your body concentrate all its energy on healing. Doing too much too soon will only prolong the healing process and risks doing real damage.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILAC!!!!! HeartAnd I know you'll do great on your test!!You're always so prepared for these tests, and you always do well. And now that you're a seasoned 60 year old, you have even that much more wisdom!

I did a Pilates DVD this morning. I haven't done that one in a while, and I know my abs are gonna feel it later!

Mary way to go on the 10K (I wish). Ruth, I'm whining about the constant rain, but snow eek. Frill I'd listen to BF and rest a few days. Maybe just walk.

My Exercise today was working 11 hrs and now finally on the commuter bus home. On the up side they r starting a Fitbit group at work. They plan to map out walks from our building around the area with lunch places along the way. That might defeat the purpose but it sounds fun. We'll see who joins.

Cheryl – I love tater tot casserole! There are variations of it but anything with tater tots is yummy in my opinion!(personally – I would pick the casserole over chocolate cream pie……)
Ruth – isn't it great to see the kids turn into grown-ups?How wonderful that we can all appreciate that more than we would have before BC!SNOW?????NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!We've had such great weather up until now it's really hard to think about winter L
Claire – I had my first foot reflexology treatment a couple month ago and am now an every other week devotee.I'd love to get a hand massage sometime too.
Frill – welcome to one of the best support groups ever!I've fallen off the wagon but am reporting below on my recent re-start.Your enthusiasm for fitness commitment despite BC is inspiring. I went through the agonizing lumpectomy vs mastectomy anxiety-laden wait too.My MRI biopsy came back negative but by that time I had already said goodbye to 'the girls' and went ahead with a bilateral MX/reconstruction.I've never looked back.Yesterday was actually 3 years since my BMX and I realized today that I never even thought about the 'anniversary' aspect of November 5 once yesterday.
Oh – and we have a saying on this thread……'Just because you can doesn't mean you should!'.Let your poor biopsied girls rest for a while.Letting things heal properly is soooo important to avoid future scar tissue problems.

Ginger – I just picked up my CPAP today and will be using it for the first time tonight.I've got high hopes for increased energy and a reduction in brain fog once I get used to it. So sorry for the MIL stress. My MIL has serious, serious issues right now too.
Mary – great photo and congrats on getting back in running shape
    Cubbie – welcome!
Patoo – how nice that you have soooo many options!
JerseyGirl – you have a great attitude and great determination to not let BC kick your ass.
LB – Happy Birthday!!!You're probably sound asleep right now but best of luck on your exam tomorrow – fingers crossed Smile

So - Ob/gyn lifted all post-hysterectomy restrictions on Monday. Wednesday I decided it was so beautiful that I was going to walk to choir practice (about 2 miles) and then decided what the heck, I'll make it week 1 day 1 of that couch to 5k program I keep talking about. Not the brightest idea (with time change it was nearly full dark already by the time I left home) but I made it there without breaking my neck or getting run over. Also started the 30-day plank challenge again. Went to the gym after work today (first time since mid-Feb) and did week 1 day 2 of C25K. Picked up my CPAP device today and am looking forward to playing the role of Darth Vader in the school play tonight!

    Love y'all!

LB: Happy 60th Birthday! It's just a number. Good luck tomorrow!

Sweet: Here's hoping you have the best sleep ever tonight!

Hi All. Plumber came yesterday. Discovered that the water pipe coming into the house was leaking. He has temporarily laid a new pipe across the yard and will be back Monday to trench it. Meanwhile, dh has been working the wet vac so much in the basement and garage that it broke! Luckily we have a smaller one and he's been using it. We have the dehumidifier continually running. I've been busy cleaning the basement and garage. I feel so dirty! Next week we're having some remodeling done to the bathrooms. Lots of workmen coming to the house next week! Happy Weekend!

So busy I can't keep up this week. Can't tell if I'm tired from rads or just life in general. Exercise this week,

    Tues: 1hour strength with trainer

    Thurs: 2.5 mile run

Fri: 1 mile run with daughter to "train" for her 1k kids race today.

Send me fast thoughts tomorrow morning. My 10k pretty much everyone I thought was going to do it has dropped out. But my family is here. I've only done a hand full of races. DH has never seen me in any race and the kids only in one. And then they went off to the playground with the nanny and weren't at the finish.

    11thAnniversary today too.

Hopped on treadmill last night for 20 mins just because I felt like it!

Bowling this morning then walked around for about an hour at one of the town squares where there was a huge craft fair. One thing I did not acquire at birth was the gift that some of these folks have for creativity. For instance, know those Swiffer dust thingys, someone made one that slips over a finger, one finger, so you can dust into small crevices with only a finger. They also had them made out of microfiber cloth. All kinds of things that I should have thought of so I can take you all on our 2016 dream trip to Fiji!

    Oh well, we can dream.

The one finger Swiffer thingy sounds neat, Patoo. I sure could use one.

Good luck tomorrow Outrunning. Happy Anniversary!

Walked/ran late this afternoon. 65 degrees but very humid and sticky.

I got in my ride. Was quite wet, but fortunately not windy. Favorite part though was the hot bath afterwards.

Feel exceedingly pleased with myself and virtuous for having stuck out the 20 miles. I am off in a couple to Seattle for haircut pre conference. Need to look respectable, chic and on my game, not shaggy which is the way I look at the moment.

Wrapped up in winter sweaters and boots to stay toasty and dry.

Speaking of winter weather, we may get snow in the mountains soon. I can't wait to go skiing again as missed most of last season. - Claire

Someone posted on FB today. . .welcome to Seattle, Georgia. Seriously! It's been raining and socked in here for 2+ weeks. Patoo. . .Figi is on my list too. Spent my honeymoon in Tahiti and was supposed to go to Figi for 10th. . . Family happened.

Walked around one of the metro cities and museums waiting for dd's game today. Now at the gym running up my Fitbit so I don't look bad in the new Fitbit work group. Looking forward to the urban lunch hikes this winter.

I think I had a 24 minute walk to report since my last visit and then today was mowing both grass and leaves for an hour and a half and 15 minute dog walk. Done with the yard work but only for a week. My neighbors tree is waiting for a strong west wind to blow straight into my yard.

Frill go ahead and take it easy. I remember how painful those biopsies were. I had tiny gel packs that I could put in the freezer and those helped some.

Scottie we had a very cloudy rainy first half of summer. I did not enjoy it. We've had pretty darn good weather after that so I hope the same is coming your way.

Happy bday Lilac and I hope your test went well.

Sweet here's to a restful night.

LB Happy Belated Birthday, I know today was your big day and I'm sure you did well you have achieved so much in the past few years. Frill I agree with everyone, you need to take it easy, recover from the biopsies. Sweet glad to see you back, hope you are getting some good sleep with your new device. Outrunning good luck tomorrow, sorry all your people have dropped out of your race, cheering you on from So Cal. Scottie and Patoo, I've been to Fiji it's a beautiful lay back place, I'd choose Rarotonga or Aitutaki as my next south pacific island vacation, I am going to Seattle (actually Redmond) next weekend and I've just looked at the forecast, guess I'm heading into some rain, it will make a nice change must remember to pack my umbrella - its probably full of moth holes as its been so long since its been used Scared.

This morning did Grit Cardio and Body Pump express at one gym then to another for Zumba - my neuroma is acting up so this afternoon I had a pedicure and got a foot massage as well ahhhhhh it felt so good.
