luv,
i got my glasses at WalMart. No insurance, but it was cheaper than a couple other places I checked.
so here's 1 with my glasses. You should never teach me new tricks.
-
Great selfie Eph! Love the new brows too.
-
Eph--wow,
those do look natural!I see individual
eyebrow hairs, even!Are the individual
hairs yours or tatooed? -
my own hairs in my eyebrows are practically see thru, but you might be seeing them as 3-D effect. The tattoo includes tattooed individual hairs.

Well I feel a little better tonight, I was able to see doc for 2nd
opinion today. She is in absolute agreement with my own surgeon and
feels that the doctor who did my 2nd MRI is top notch and she would
agree with her findings, she said that more surgery is not only, not
necessary but would muddy the waters for the follow up MRI. She does not
believe anything will show up, but to have another MRI in six months,
just because it's protocol. Had my PET today, MO tomorrow, I hope he
will have the results and I will find out if I need chemo, hope not. I
will definitely need 33 radiation treatments. Thanks, Ladies -
Eph--thanks!
-
3rdtime, good for you for pursuing the issue!!! 6 months is certainly long enough to wait to see if there is any marked difference. As well, wouldn't the PET pick anything up? You must feel so much better now that your thinking has been validated with TWO doctors who you respect!
-
Yes, Barbie thanks, I do feel better the surgeon said she would be even more encouraged if there was nothing on the PET. Hope my MO has those results today.
-
We are waiting right along with you, 3rdtime. What will determine if you need chemo? Did you have the OncotypeDx test?
-
Thank you all for your support, great news today, PET scan negative, no chemo. I will start radiation in a couple of weeks, so relieved. Wish you all good news. Stephanie

Hi Elemer, clear margins and small cancer so chemo is not necessary, I will start 33 treatments of radiation in a couple of weeks and go on Aremedex after that. Thanks for the support.
-
Thank God!!!!
-
3rdTime - great news. So glad you have a clear plan for moving forward.

3rd time--YEAH!!!!!!

good morning all!
Pretty challenging week with tummy issues after third round of chemo the week before. Ugh! Interestingly I've been through similar bouts prior to diagnosis as everything tends to hit my stomach
Now I'm left with an abdomen that still feels a bit off - sensitive I guess - and a bit of discomfort in my lower back. When I sit back it almost feels like I'm pressing against concrete
My tongue has gone from dry to cardboard to a burning sensation but not too bad
I think that my eyebrows and arm hair is starting to fall out but hair grows on my knees! Too funny !
Hubby and I are going to orillia this weekend. Going to see the comedian that plays mike in mike and Molly at casino Rama. Hoping for some good laughs and weather
Have a great day all!!!
-
Nothing slows you down does it, F-nut? You go, girl!
3rdtime, Anytime someone can skip out on doing the chemo is an occasion for...
(I notice I tend to usually write it as the chemo. It's just my habit, I think.)

Amen! Just peeking in after being away for over a year. I have joined the Stage 4 club, to my shock and amazement, but am bucking up and getting used to the new life bit by bit. I am so happy to see some familiar names here, and the usual dependable brand of wit and wisdom. Hope to contribute to both, over time.
Hugs to all, Mame from Maine

MameMe, I am sorry to hear that about you, I see they have you on the Taxol...with a little luck the mets will start to disappear. Is your vision affected with the eye mets? (I mean, I know you can read a computer screen, but did you have symptoms to tell you something was up with the eyes?) Do let us know how it is going with you. You know I like all stages to post on this thread, and now I follow the Stage IV gals with a new interest since my BFF IRL turned Stage IV a year ago. One more question: do they know if it is you 2003 BC or your 2012 BC that has recurred? Not that treatment would be different. I am just curious.
-
Mame, that is not fair, and I am sorry. We are so happy you decided to stop by though, and I am sure someone will pass you the cheetos
-
Thank you Elimer, that made me smile.
-
So sorry you have to go through this.
-
3rdtime ~ You go girl! No Chemo is cause to happy dance.
Eph ~ Beautiful eyebrows. You look fabulous!
Mameme ~ So sorry to hear you have joined the Stage 4 club. Please keep us updated on your progress.
-
cakes, no-no! We don't say "progress" to Stage IVs. That is too much like progression. None of that talk.
(Not really giving you any crap, cakes.)
-
Eli, had the exact same thought.
-
Thanks for the hearty welcome, and the cheetos!!!! There is more info on my profile page if you want details, and as far as questions go, ask away. Right now, the vision in my left eye, where there is a tumor (mets) in back of the retina, is distorted, but only on one half of my visual field. It was worse when it first got dx'd, and it has gotten better with the Taxol. It bothers me when I read books and such, not distance stuff. I often have to close that eye and rely on my right eye, then that gets tired and I get mad! I LOVE reading, and driving, so a big fear is any threat to my eyesight. I have had some regression of pleural mets and of a few hot lymph nodes also, so that is good. The er/pr of one of the nodes they biopsied matched the 2012 episode. Seems fast growing to me, but what do I know? I had a low oncotype, 16, so chemo was not in the cards last year. Or in 2003, for that matter. The oncologist and the tumor board were remarking on how this wasn't acting according to Hoyle. No kidding.
-
wait, who or what is hoyle?
-
Kathe, its just an expression, Hoyle wrote a rule book for card games back in the day.
Eph, The brows look really good. How did you find someone who could do that?
-
i thought of that book, i remember even leafing through a copy, but i guess i am just a little thick today! and didn't get that is was just a reference to not playing by the rules. like robert's rules.
