Way to go Elimar! Graduating at the top of the class again. So proud of you. I will be marking the 17th on my calendar so that I am sure to be with you on the big day.
Perhaps oncs can double as a justice of the peace and offer marriage services as a option for treatment. Sheesh - really?
-
Way to go Eli----
-
Eli, love the moon lady topper, and your goodnews! The headline on the other hand sucked!
Heading to bed, then heading to Vegas tomorrow early AM to meet up withthe BCO group of TaTas ... 50 some of us! I've met exactly one in person...yikes!
Will truly think of all of you while I'm there. Hugs -
Oct. 17th ~ marked on my calendar.
((( E~ ))) -
Eli, glad to hear the good news. I have an appointment with my surgeon on the 17th as well (check-up, not surgery), so I will be sure to remember you.
As for the marriage thing, for it to work for us, I think we need to introduce polyandry and specify that the men be cowboys with cute bottoms. If I had 5-6 cowboys to wait on me and keep me busy, I would have no time for cancer.
-
marlegal - have a fantastic trip! They say "What happens in Vegas......" but you are safe to share some of the less incriminating moments with us here. Can't wait to hear how it went.
momine - maybe we could do our own study. Name it "Cowboys vs Chemo"
-
That's why I like to come here. It is such a validation that, even with B/C, your sensibilities can remain intact. Don't anyone forget that.
-
eli, great news, here's to passing the pouchagram!!!!!!!
-
"momine - maybe we could do our own study. Name it "Cowboys vs Chemo""
Ha! Definitely!
-
Congratulations, Eli~. That is such good news.
I have further questions and statements regarding marriage being better than chemo. (Since I was single whilst going through mine and I still survived.)
- If marriage is better than chemo, then why do married women even get BC?
- For marriage to work better, do you have to get married as the tx?
- Isn't just about anything better than chemo (The headline said nothing about "curing" cancer.)
- Is chocolate cake better than chemo? I think so!
-
Oh the possibilities for studies are endless............ chocolate vs chemo........cookies vs chemo..........wine vs chemo etc, etc.
One more question on the marriage vs chemo - if you are married upon diagnosis and then become separated or divorced before tx ends, are you still ahead of the game?
-
Isn't just about anything better than chemo (The headline said nothing about "curing" cancer.)
A lot of us think so. Once again, Meece, you have hit the nail on the head.
Now for something informational, not necessarily to scoff at, like that last article:
I haven't taken a look, but I have a feeling that a similar amt. is coming out of my husbands paycheck each month, so these prices should not be too unsettling. Bummer if you live in WY or MS but, if you stay living there, you will make it back once you hit retirement age, as those states are among the most tax-friendly to seniors.
Thanks, everyone, for shouting hooray for me moving ahead and becoming whole (well, close to it anyway) again!
Who knew this was such a cowboy lovin' group?
-
WAIT! Don't close! I'm here, I'm here!
Where is everybody? Probably enjoying the beautiful fall weather... I wish I was, but the good news is I've finished my continuing ed courses. The bad news is that the site has not given me credit yet which means I'll be on the phone tomorrow and sure enough, come skidding in the last few minutes to renew my license... sigh, I was trying to avoid that familiar scenario.
Good news about the Obamacare prices! I've heard scary stories but always figure they are the exception rather than the rule. I usually choose the "wait and see" route - I have found it conserves a lot of energy.
I bet Marlegal is having a great time in Las Vegas - or Lost Wages as my step-dad used to call it, haha.
So barsco, I can finally join you studying some honky tonk bedonky donk!
For today's lesson...
Wait... did we consider cowboy vs chemo?
-
HNS - congrats on finishing up your courses. Must be a relief. Now you get to study what you want to! I never get tired of looking at cowboys! sigh....
-
That appears to be a might fine cowboy!
-
-
-
We're closed???????????????????
-
Eph, no, no, we still have cowboys!
-
When I looked in over the weekend, there were no posts in a 49 hour period, so it felt like we were "closed" for the weekend. I admit to being busy also, using this three week window before surgery to tackle some things that I will not feel like doing (or be able to do during my recovery time.) After that, I want to turn my attention to the holidays and use my energies for that, so it's now or never for some of the tedious chores I have been putting off.
I was scheduled to see my MO this week, supposedly to talk about my CT. But I already went over it with my surgeon, and I am really against all the "doubling up" with the team of doctors. I told the MO staff I was on hiatus from them, focusing on my surgery (and you know I will get the pre-admission blood work, so what is there for them to do really?) and so they sensibly scheduled me for November.
Some of you might like the ultra-close monitoring, but I like a little room to breathe. They are all supposed to be sharing info. anyway.
-
Elimar...tell them like it is...I don't have the money to do repeat after repeat, it all should be on the computer....
-
Look at the line up of ladies waiting for the re-opening of the middies thread! We can't stay away for too long.
Eli - I can't blame you for not wanting to do the double up on appts. We need to have time to do the things we need/want to do for ourselves.
-
Elimar - your insurance company appreciates your diligence.
Sorry we were closed. Last week just got away from me. Car to shop - BooHoo, shopping for camping (AC, kitchen, beds LOL), dog to vet. Today the reverse - car and dog back home. Trying to catch up on laundry.
-
This morning at 9 am is my 6-mo Onc check, with results from my blood tests as well.
Please keep good thoughts for me. -
((val))
morning everyone, I for one wish we could"close" this forum. That everyone would be healed and healthy. It's like when my yoga teacher says imagine all your cells vibrant and healthy. I always get thinking every single cell? But that's me stuck in the details. Let me think some more about cowboys!
-
-
That's nice, Loral! I always feel better in October. I have a little more spring in my step. Although it is fall, I wouldn't want a little more fall in my step. I have enough of that, haha!
I just bought a pretty cape for fall - it's a burgundy cashmere-like cape with a burgundy faux fur collar. Now to get a chic hair cut and I should look like quite the lady. Actually, my son graduates from college in December and I'll have to see his dad, so it's important that he thinks I'm thriving (I'm really not, but he doesn't need to know that, right?).
I guess that's why I decided to go ahead and renew my realtor's license - I feel like I need to get my career back on the ball. I just have to find my enthusiasm for it again.
Well, off to wash my hair. It's a huge job but somebody has to do it!
-
Okay.
Take a deep breath, Valerie...... me, myself & I .......
Tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM .... oh, boy, it's actually tomorrow morning already: Wed. 12:44 AM
I have my 6-mo Onc check-up. And I get the results of my blood work which includes that dreaded CA.27.29.
I am trying to remain calm & positive. And I will try to do the same while waiting tomorrow morning.
I can't wait until it is over.
And I am wondering if I will be "let go" so-to-speak. Meaning, Onc visits every year instead of 6-months as I am one month away from being 5 years out. That's a scary thought....... more on that another time.
Well, I must get to bed. Up early to shower & freak out!!!
Please keep good thoughts for me.
-
heartnsoul...you are so funny, laughter is the best medicine..
You go girl....
-
Go get em Heartnsoul! The first step getting your enthusiasm back was renewing your licence. It will fall into place in time.
I love the fall colours and weather. Snuggling into a nice soft sweater and entering a house warmed by the wood fire, a pot of soup or chili on the stove, a cup of hot chocolate to warm the soul. So much to look forward to.
