Diana I PM'd you. Hang in there girl. (((((((HUGS)))))))))))
-
Dianarose, I have always been secretly worried for you because your cancer was so all over the place in terms of your Dx. Is the ovary and tube the only place something was found? I have heard that B/C can have mets that sometimes do develope the HER2+. Don't know why that is or happens. Have they mentioned more chemo, or doing the Herceptin? I probably shouldn't even ask you questions yet while your head must be spinning, along with the rest of you, and probably in two opposite directions. I was so happy for you, with you taking the big step to open your own bakery. I am devastated to hear of this crushing news. We all are.
-
Elimar- I am confused with this path report. It says Sections show that one of the ovaries is invloved with tumor. The fallopian tubes show one tube that has tumor infilrating into the pertiubal tissue. Then under Gross description it says, Upon sectioning through the ovaries and fallopian tubes, they have a soft consistency. There are no discrete lesions identified within the ovaries. Need help with this one.
I am still going to open the bakery, dam it. I figure I still have to work somewhere, right?
-
Dianarose - Eli is so eloquent and I feel speechless at this point. Know that my prayers are with you as you make decisions about your treatments. I, too, have read of mets that do change from HER neg to pos or vice versa. Get your yellow legal pad out and fill it with questions for MO tomorrow. What time sweetie so I can say a special prayer for you.
I agree with your confusion. All the more reason to hit MO with all you've got tomorrow.
-
Diana, you are still the Queen of Tarts. What a motherfucker this disease is. Please let us know what the MO has to say about this development. I am, however, so glad you insisted on getting them out. With the ovaries, sooner is definitely better than later for finding unruly cells.
-
Luvmygoats- My appointment is at 10. I am thinking I want a different lab to do it again and with more details, like grade for starters and maybe the size of the cancer and how involved it was. WTF
Momine- f'n lobular doesn't show up on the dam scans. Little bastards.
-
Diana, I know. I am so sorry.
-
Dianarose - I think a 2nd opinion is in order. Right-O. 10 am (9 am here) will be praying for peace and answers during your appointment.
-
Dianarose, count me in the speechless group! Your news is so not cool or awesome or any of the wonderful adjectives we used just last week re: the bakery. At 10 your time, I'm out walking the dog, so will add special prayers for you then, as well as now!
-
Dianarose: you will not be alone tomorrow. We will be there with you in your pocket. Beatmon
-
Dianarose- so sad, so sorry, but hopeful. You are in my prayers. You really need the bakery, I'm glad you are going ahead with it.
-
Diana, yes, the posse will be with you at the MO's. It will be afternoon here, and I will be thinking of you.
-
D-rose, When has your path report ever NOT been confusing? I was just guessing that since it is lobular (and can form in layers, for lack of a better description) that you just had a mush of cells in the ovary. It sounds sneaky and nasty. I agree with Goatsy, you need to get all those questions answered. The idea for second opinion can't hurt either, as you have been so darn complicated from the get-go. Yes, my thoughts will be on you tomorrow morning and let us know what it all means and what comes next.
-
Dianarose.....I don't post often (not much to add) but have been following this thread for some time. I was SO excited about your new venture with the bakery! I don't usually cuss.....but #$%#$%# this BC sucks!!!! I will be praying for you and expecially tomorrow when you have your appt. FYI: there is another thread: "Triple Positive Group" in the HER2 pos/neu group that has some awesom ladies there who would be very informative for all you HER2 + questions. I follow them too but don't post often as I haven't (yet) had the experience of chemo/Herceptin/rads.
This IS my favorite thread to keep coming back to because of the love, laughter and positive attitudes. God bless you all!
Update on me: Had my DIEP 11/09/12 and am scheduled for Stage II (nipples -yeah! and some lipo fill for contouring) in October. My scans have been good except last CT gave my MO reason to order an MRI for my pancreas (next Tues)....not really worried yet because I've been down that road before.....but as Tues approaches????
-
Glad to hear of your update on the surgery, Chachamom, and drop in anytime. I think you are right to not let the pancreas get to you at this point. My MO told me once that organs like the liver are "dynamic" and just go through their own weird changes, B9 ones; but let us know the results anyway.
Oh, Momine! What dock have you been working on this afternoon?
A true enough statement, however.
-
Thanks, Eli! I love your posts and have the greatest admiration for you!
Gma.....do you know what size a foob you need. I have a size 5 "Nature-Lite" by Amoena I be glad to donate if anyone can use it.......don't really want a souvenier of that part of this journey.
-
Ahahaha! Chach...adjectives have been hurled at me before, but I don't remember "admirable" being one of them. Thanks!
-
Eli- why can't anything to do with me just be simple. I emailed a copy to my daughter at the military hospital where she works and she is on it with the doc's there. She finally made her appointment for genetic testing today.
I think we should have bloody Mary's in the morning. The celery must be good for us somehow. I will wear pants with big pockets. There might be so many of us that we need a cute server.
Chachamom- Nipples, lucky you!!! I will get mine tattooed in a few months. They are sort of on the back burner for now.
-
Dianarose - not much more to add except that I am sure you will feel quite a bit of jiggling in your pockets tomorrow as we will all be trying to ensure that the MO is answering all of the questions that you have. Ain't nobody gonna dismiss our sister before we are ALL satisfied! And no worries about the soggy shoulders, I had them out in the sunshine drying out ready for another round whenever needed.
chacha - good to hear from you. As host of the PP next Tues. you can make requests as to what you would like us to bring regarding food, drink or even servers if you like.
-
Diana - WTF!?! All I can say is that I'm SO GLAD you happened to have made the decision to get your ovaries removed, because otherwise those f**kers would still be in there growing! I hate, hate, hate sneaky cancer!
We will definitely be with you in the morning and I'm sure your daughter will help you come up with some good questions - your path is so confusing. I hope you don't have to start chemo again - maybe you can get by with Herceptin alone. I do know some ladies do nothing but Herceptin but I don't know what the SEs are like. That was a good suggestion by Chachamom to check out the Triple Positive thread.
I love Bloody Mary's in the morning! Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix is the best I've found - that should get us through the morning!
-
I'll be glad to drink a Bloody Mary with u in the morning and then hop in for the pocket ride. Beatmon
-
Sherry, I have had a few birthdays I hated, till I decided I would start forgetting my age!
Gma, I too get a new foob every two yrs and four free bras a year. Note to others, I had a lumpec, not a mast, and insurance still pays. I never thought I cared much about one boob not fitting into regular bra real well, until my surgeon suggested I go visit the place. When they fitted me, and I was able to actually get the foob and the bras right there, I cried when I looked in the mirror. Turns out I did care after all! -
Diana, sew on another pocket hon, two aren't going to cut it tomorrow. I have to bring the ice, and the glasses and the vodka...don't worry if that one side droops a little.

Dianarose:
Count me in.. 10am I will be there with tabasco, worcestershire, celery and tomato juice... I put my own spin on the Bloody Marys. Agree with everything said about this effing sneaky M$*^*%F$@#^er!!!
-
Eli, and anyone else with sensitive ears, apologies for my bad language. I learned English in restaurant kitchens in NY, nuff said. However, in my defense, cancer fully warrants some cussing, in my opinion.
Speaking of NY and mofos, I had a friend years ago, who was very much in love with his wife. The wife had become a grandma and my friend was fond of announcing that he was now a "GRAND ... motherfucker."

Dianarose - Might as well ditch work so I can jump in your pocket. Pretty sure that I won't be concentrating on my job today. ((hugs))
cmh - if you put celery in a drink then you can call it a meal right? I will bring some clamato juice for anyone who wants a different taste.
momine - I agree that you were warranted in major cussing - cancer deserve no niceties. Also my ears have heard plenty in their 49 yrs. Living in redneck territory is similar to living in NY in that not much is held back.
-
My daughter called me last night with what the doc's at the hospital she works at said about my path report. Good news it's not in the ovaries, bad news it's on the outside of one ovary and fallopian tube. Hitch hikers and how many more are smimming around down there????? That's where the part of the path report that says no lesions on the ovaries comes in. Like you said Eli, all my reports are complicated. Does this still count as mets???? Has anyone else had this before. I hate being different. I don't understand why they make us do the chemo and rads before putting us on the AI's when you are 100 % er and pr postitive. They say that's our best weapon yet we pull it out too late in some cases.
-
((Dianarose)) That was nice that the doc's where your daughter works were eilling to explain the report to her, and that she could further explain it to you. I'm in for the pocket party.
