Barsco- I am praying for great results.

My house is the oldest house in the town, pre-1800's. It's a can of worms. I don't know if I will ever get it fixed up.

Starting to stress over my surgery tomorrow. I hate the getting put to sleep part. I would rather be awake. Just numb me up a bit and I would be fine. I need to get this behind me so I can focus on the bakery. I met with the Coke rep today. They are doing my sign. So much more paper work and permits to do. I just want to bake. I hate the paperwork part.

If anyone is up early hop in my pocket. Surgery is at 8:15. Talk to you all soon.

Well, well, well - look who's still hanging around!

I guess I was a bit anxious after all. Seems to hit me after the scan and before I know the results. I let out quite a sigh when I spoke to the nurse today and she told me all was good. She WAS unsure about leaving a message - she's new. She knows now that it is ok to do so in the future.

Diana - I will definitely be jumping in your pocket tomorrow. Unlike you, I love the going to sleep part. It is such a great feeling to just drift off and next thing you know - you're awake and it's all over. You will do great! We'll make sure that everything goes smoothly for you.

You got yourself a loyal stable boy, barsco, and I'm glad he has decided to stick around.

Dianarose, Best of Luck with your surgery tomorrow.  Yes, get it over and done with, and then on to better (and more buttery) things.  You will be up and baking in no time (but remember to give yourself enough rest and sleep...it helps the body to heal.)

p.s.  To those who recommended Biotene to me...I have used that for dry mouth for a few years now.  Although I am dry, what is bugging me is more like neuropathy of the tongue.  Probably that nasty platinum drug is to blame.

Barsco, hoorayyyy for good news :)

Diana, I'm with Barsco...put me out! I tolerate anesthesia with no problems. Had two sx's where I was awake and it freaked me out listening to everything but being numb. I prefer la la land! Bringing danish and coffee for all pocket party attendees. We'll save your portion for post-recovery, don't worry. Hugs :)

Yay Barsco for the stable boy. May you continue your long term relationship.

Dianarose - snap your fingers and it will all be over tomorrow. In your pocket. Ummm tarts sound good right about now but I think I will have to settle for a bit of ice cream.

barsco ~ Wonderful news & that is one hot stable boy!!

Dianarose ~ Looks like your pockets are full, I'll just loop my arm through the button hole & hold on. I'm one for sitting near the end of a table, on the edge of a chair, or standing even, so I can move quickly to get something or get out.

Sherry ~ Love the picture of you & your darling granddaughter!

cmh ~ If I lived close, my DH could do some of that work for you on the cheap. And I don't mean he does cheap work, just never charges "friends". He's very handy, used to work for a home building company on the side.

Getting my house "cat-proofed". DD is dropping the cat off for us to cat-sit for 11 days while she & family go to Disney World. They are so excited & are counting the days ........ I am not so excited & am counting the days. We don't have pets, don't care to. (used to have 3 dogs, that was then......this is now) I was hoping she would have someone stop by their home to feed him & tend to the cat box, but, nope...... I'm elected. But I love my DD & I will do this for her.

Not sure how but this thread slipped off my favourites. Elle the Biotin mouthwash does help but not if the thrush shows up for that you do need a prescription.I got it twice while doing my chemo sets.(hugs)

So good to hear others are having good scans.

I am back to hospital on 19 for biopsies this time I had a long worrisome wait just to get a date.Nevermind the second wait for pathology. Surgeon did say that if he was suspicious of the lump he would just remove it instead of a biopsy.

My DH is sneaking me away to a beach so time will pass quicker.😎

Val - we'll toss out a tether for you so you don't have to worry about losing your grip. You're a good mom for taking in the grandcat! My sister has the same problem - only with dogs. She keeps saying that she doesn't have any pets, but there is dog toys scattered about her house and there is more often than not at least one dog there - lol. The things Mom's do for their children!

Mumito - jealous that DH is taking you away to the beach. What beach do you escape to? Can we have a PP there? Will definitely jump in on the 19th to hold your hand.

kaza - don't think I've "met" you yet. Thanks for your good wishes! Hope to see more of you here.

Diana - just going to shave my legs (so the others don't think that you are harbouring a porcupine) and then I'm on my way!!

We missed you, mumito.  I can't always remember, but you had Mx, right?  So disappointing that some lumps showed up, and I really hope they are B9 though why out bodies don't cooperate and stop growing things is beyond me.  I fully agree with getting out to the beach to have fun and take your mind of the appt. and try to de-stress as much as possible.

Oh, my problem is not thrush.  That is a visible condition and I don't see that.

Did I hear that tarts were being served at the PP for Dianarose?  That just made me want some light musical fare to go along with them.  Naturally, my first thought was a mouse on the pan pipes, which I am sure all will enjoy.  Not too loud is it, D-rose?

Everyone is in my thoughts today. I can't believe 5 years later and I am still having trouble retaining what I read... If I forget a name or an issue, forgive me... the brain isn't what it used to be... Reading and retention, math  and numbers, and even names and faces give me trouble. I used to have an almost photographic memory. That said.. hope all results are wonderful news, all procedures are a breeze, and trips taken are safe ones! I will try to hop in everyone's pocket!

My plumber just told me yesterday that all of my plumbing is leaking not just the one spot and my sewage is backing up; $3000 cash or check, no credit, to fix. NO CREDIT!! I wonder how people manage when they don't accept credit on such huge jobs! I feel so useless. I had to call my 87 yr old mother and ask if I could get a loan that we both know I may never pay back. I guess my electrical issues are on hold again and painting the house is a far off dream. Dianarose, my sister is in an old farmhouse in Maine. I should have known what kind of issues I would have... Well I did, I just didn't see cancer in my future. When I bought the house, I had central heat and air installed, and the whole house rewired from the original wiring.  I figured plumbing would be down the line and the house had been freshly painted.  Well, it is down the line.... I don't think that covers the incoming pipes and I have used bottle water for last few years, because the incoming water is so hard and has so much rust in it. It is ok for washing but not drinking imho. I wish I had a handyman. I know some of the issues I have could have been prevented if repaired in timely manner.

I took my last shower for awhile last night and hope it won't be too long before I can bathe again.

Hope today is good to everyone!

Eli - Sorry you have neuropathy of the tongue - but thanks for identifying it.  That's exactly what I have.  I hadn't pegged that, even though my lips have been numb. Ugh!!

barsco- I am so HAPPY for you.

I am home. Interesting day. First my fingers were swollen and couldn't get all my rings off. Then they told me they were going to be sticking a tube down my throat all the way to my stomach to deflate it. Yuck. Then they gave me a drug that I had never had before. Totally shut down my breathing passages and they had to give me a breathing treatment during and after surgery. I have had surgery there multiple times. Read my records and go with what worked in the past. The only thing that hurts is the left side. No pain on the right, belly button, or boobs. I have a compression bra on until Monday so not sure if I like them yet or not. Just tired right now.

    Thanks for the pocket party!!!

cmh, are you a member of any church? I've seen firsthand how churches around me, all diff denominations,do work for no cost whatsoever for their members. Even if you are not a member,if you know someone who is, they might be able to get you low or no cost help.

Mum, you said biopsies plural...what's going on?

Val, I can relate. We have a summer place at the Jersey shore, but my dd asked us to babysit my grandson...no brainer for me, I'm going to her house!

Has anyone coughed up blood after a surgery. I know they put a tube down my throat to deflate my stomach, but I am kind of nervous.

Is it continuous?  If so call your doctor.  If it was once, I'd guess they scraped or irritated something.

Diana - I second what Meece has advised. Hope that the pain lessens for you soon. Will you have a PP on Monday for the unveiling? Just kidding - hope everything looks great! Rest up my dear!

cmh - not sure I would be able to even think about renos costing $3000.00. Always seems to be something that sucks the life out of our wallets.

Day off tomorrow! Taking part in the Relay for Life tomorrow night. Sounds like I will need to pack everything BUT the shorts & t-shirts.

Dianarose--I usually cough up blood for a few days after surgery.  It's from the tube irritating your throat.  As long as it's just a bit and not getting worse you should be ok.  You can always call your surgeon's office and talk with someone there, nothing wrong with getting reassurance from the source!

I don't think it's getting worse. Once in awhile I feel congested and when I cough it up to get rid of it, it is bloody. Who knows what she scraped on the way down. She went all the way to my stomach. She said she had to deflate it. My jaw feels like someone broke it. I have TMJ to begin with so whatever she did didn't help. I had discussed getting 250 cc implants but instead only got 200. Disappointed. They look flat, but I have had a compression bra on since surgery.

My PS made the decision to go larger than we had discussed.  He said he tried several sizes and got the opinion of the nurses in the operating room .  I mean I really did leave it up to him, I'm not mad, but wished they were a bit smaller.  He did the first surgery on my BC side, and 11 months later I had surgery on the other side to match it.  We waited the 11 months so that things would settle down enough to be able to match the size.  I guess he knew what he was doing because the irradiated side has shrunk since surger, so going bigger was a good thing, however the matching girl didn't shrink so I have a mismatched set once more.Undecided

I am 4weeks past my last chemo and starting rads in the next two weeks. Im am post menopausal and having the worse night sweats of my life. Had them all through treatment but was so ill never thought to mention it to the OC. Does anyone else have them? Is this just a holdover from treatment...dont even mention that its a symptom of another cancer. Ive already read that and not even going there ! Sign me.....

    Tired of washing sheets !

Hi, Starynights!  I have heard that chemo does bring on the hot flashes and night sweats in some, but I thought that was mainly during the chemo treatment.  I wouldn't rule chemo out, but bring it up with your doc the next time.  I say this because after your rads, you will most likely be offered an anti-hormonal drug and those definitely bring on the sweats.  Just reading your Dx line, I am not sure why they did the chemo on you?  Did you have a high Oncotype score or something?

    Starynight:

I had night sweats for a couple of years out from chemo.  I actually ruined a beautiful set of sheets because my gown faded onto the sheets as I slept. My docs discussed the notion that it might be from my chemo induced heart condition and ran another muga scan to rule it out.  Turned out it was just from the chemopause still effecting my system.

Hope everyone is doing OK today! I am too tired and exhausted, emotionally, to read up much and comprehend.

    elimar...

I cant tell you the oncotype because I had the mammoprint test and had a darn 30% reoccurance rate. I was going to get just rads and hormone therapy but when that came back I said HOOK ME UP ! I still have a 12%  so Im not very happy about that. Im doing all I can do, so it is what it is.  I did talk to the chemo nurse today as I have a headcold that wont let go. She said it could be the chemo even though I finished almost four weeks ago. I never had this until I started treatment.

Starynights ~ I had a chronic sinus headache a month out from chemo that lasted for over 2 months, now (last chemo was 1/25/13) my toe and fingernails are really soft and discolored.
