I was wondering about Lisa also. My thoughts are with her. Dianne
-
Hi! I have also been wondering (and worrying) about Lisa. It looks like her last posting on this website was in late February. Hard to believe my 2 year anniversary is May 5. Hope all is well with everyone.
-
Happy Easter to all. I hope this year brings happiness to all. I am going for my mammo Thr\ursday and a pap. Has anyone here on Tamoxifin had a US. Gyno says that it might be done. Anybody else here this? My prayers are going out to Lisa. Dianne
-
Stef58 I had several internal US - I was a bit surprised the first time because I expected a US through the skin like when I was pregnant, I was not expecting a phallic wand inserted
Thinking of Lisa too...
Happy Easter All!
-
Lol - phallic wand - good description - with a condom on it too! I had a baseline done at my last gyno visit. I'm not sure if she would have done one, but I asked if it should be monitored and she said - yeah, let's get a baseline. I think I'm lucky in that I think I don't have any endometrial thickening. She said I measured 4.5 - she said they look for less than 5 for menopausal women. Since I'm not even menopausal, I think that means it's good.
Thinking of Lisa ♥
-
Is this "phallic" U/S something routinely done these days? Or under particular circumstances?
I think we are all wondering/worrying about Lisa. I think Meece (from the I come to the garden thread) actually has contact with her.
-
Hi Gill! Happy Easter!!!
The phallic US is used to get measurements of the uterine lining which can thicken while on Tamoxifen. If the lining gets too thick a D&C and bx are usually done rule out uterine cancer or a hysterectomy may be recommended.

Hey everyone,
I am also concerned about Lisa. I read somewhere that she was only posting to othe 40-60ish discussion thread. I also heard that her daughter was updating her condition on Facebook and we could hear from her that way - although I had no sucess with a response on FB.
It's good to hear from those of you who have checked into "our" thread. In some ways - it seems a lifetime ago that we were all sharing our stories - and in other ways it seems like yesterday. I pray that none of us has to go through it again. And I pray for Lisa every day.

hello Everyone, I went and had my mammo today. It all looks good. Went to the gyno, saw a new doc and she does not routinelly do a US. She said everything was fine, she was more interested in my reconstruction and thought that it looked great. She was a great doctor. I have been thinking about LisaJust thinking about all of us. Dianne
-
Dianne, glad to hear you survived the mammo check! I had my 2yr mammo last month & it was all clear also. I've not heard anything about Lisa lately-if my chemo brain allows me to remember I will try to find something out tomorrow & post. Joni2

Thanks Joni.

This was on PauldingMom (Lisa)'s daughter facebook this morning.
Update: My mom went into the hospital yesterday after having low blood pressure and high pulse which resulted in her falling in our driveway. She did not break anything but they found that she is having acute kidney failure. They have been running blood tests and multiple scans throughout the night and into the morning. Please keep her in your prayers and I will continue to keep everyone updated on her condition.
When I know more I'll post.

I have just checked my facebook and saw this update froom Lisa's daughter:
The doctors are in the process of moving my mother to hospice. This morning she was unresponsive and no longer on fluids. I love her so much and am glad that she will not be in pain forever.
I feel so sad for Lisa and her family. I hate cancer.
-
oh Jayne, thank you for the update but my heart is just breaking... Sending love and strength to Lisa's family right now.

I am so sad! Crying my eyes out at work.

I am on the verge of crying too, Joni. This is just the saddest news ever. Lisa has done us all proud....fighting like a true Jedi!!! I pray she is pain free. My love and prayers for Lisa and her family...especially her 3 children. Hugs, Joni1

Thanks Joni, I'm sitting here trying to take all this in and not loose it. Lisa was the one - who got us going in 09. Her diagnosis is almost the same as mine. I just don't understand this horrible disease! Just in the last 2 months, I have had 3 more acquaintances who have been diagnosed. It seems rampid - at least where I live. There were acquaintance 2 months ago - and now I feel they are my sisters.
Thanks for the info - hope everyone is doing well. I have had good checkups - but the last one I simply worked myself into a frenzy - don't know why - just did. I am still going to oncologist every 3 months - cause I'm on the Zometa infusion. My oncologist is also a good friend and she said why did you do this - and I told her that I have no answer except that I just want to hit that 3 year mark. Take care everyone and let's all lift up Lisa and her family.
Pam
