Hello ladies here is an update.

In order to reserve a seat at the piano bar is $25.00 per person.  That includes the cover charge to get in and also the seat.  If we are interested I can call and make the reservation.  We do not have to pay until we get to the bar.  I spoke to the manager at Coyote Ugly and he said he will work something out so he can wave the cover charge.  There is no cover charge from 6 to 9 but if we get there later than 9 he can work with us.  Kahunaville at TI is also a fun bar.  It is not a dancing bar (well, that depends in how much alcohol is consumed) but it is lots of fun.  There is a couple of bars at the Mirage and the hostess a Jet said if I call Concierge they may be able to put us in the guest list and we do not pay a cover charge.  I do not know about the Mirage but last year when I stayed a Treasure Island, I got complementary passes to their bar.

Just let me know about the piano bar and I will call.  By the way I am in for the piano bar also.  Just confirmed with Coyote Ugly, we are in their guest list for Saturday night.  At the door we need to tell them we are with the Tata's sisterhood group.  We are also supposed to be guest at the jet bar at the Mirage for Friday the 25th.  So after we are done with our get together if we want to go there we can do that.  The reservation is either under my name or Stephanie's.  If I get any more updates I will let you guys know

I just wanted to let y'all know I FINALLY heard from DV8Q!!!  I have been so concerned about her!!!  Her last post was early July...anyway SHE IS ALL IN FOR VEGAS BAYBEE!!!!  I will be catching her up to speed so she can decide if she's in on these things.  If she doesn't post I will let you know when I find out.

Is the Piano Bar that much fun it is worth to pay $25 just for cover charge?  Start adding the drinks and I can see easily throwing out $100.  I am all for Coyote Ugly for sure!  I am on the fence about the Piano Bar unless they are willing to throw in some free drinks!

I won't be by the pool on Saturday morning.  I will meet for breakfast but my boob is beet red right now from radiation, I am trying to stay out of the heat and the sun so I will be spending my mid morning, early afternoon at the nickle poker machine gambling away drinking free drinks.

Earleen - I remember when I first read about this trip, I sent a PM asking if it was ok for me to join since I only had a lumpectomy and this thread is in the Breast Reconstruction forum so I wasn't sure if I would be welcomed or not.  BUT.......I got the "heck yes, you are more than welcome" and so I made my plans to come.

I should have thought about my cousin, didn't think about it until today when I talked to her, she had BC about 7 years ago and she is a hoot!  Ya'll would have loved her.  I mentioned it to her today and she replied "Why didn't you tell me, I would have loved to meet you in Vegas!"  She lives in Louisiana.  In any case, if we ever meet up in Vegas again....my cousin will be joining us.

So maybe it was best.. for the 1st annual Ta Ta Sisterhood group to be smaller... like 25 of us... LOL.... who can imagine the size next yr... OMGOSH!

Laura - I attended an Overseas Brats Reunion in Dallas/Fort Worth back in 1999.  If you can imagine, there were 1,800 of us representing 232 different overseas schools.  What was tough was deciding if I wanted to hang out with my friends from Italy or those from Germany, etc.  There were many of us that went to school in different countries.  We had at least 3 floors of the hotel at the airport booked, we had at least 10 hospitality suites.  The age group was anyone that ever attended a school overseas anywhere from 1960 to 1998.  I felt sorry for the people that were at the hotel to rest up because we had security chasing us from one floor to another for being too loud.  I don't think any of us got more than 4 hours of sleep every night.  These events always start on a Thursday and end on Sunday so by Sunday you are just totally wiped out.

So bring it on next year!!!  I know it would take some massive coordination to schedule everything.  How we always did it was we paid airfare and hotel and then the coordinators (usually a group of 4 to 6 people) handled everything else from tours to dinners, breakfast, formal wear dinner night, etc. and and we all paid a flat fee that covered everything from hiring buses for transportation, group meals, etc.  We would get a list of events for each day, buses would be hired to transport us if needed.

Now if you can imagine that, think about 75 people going to Naples, Italy for a reunion, my hubby and I did that in 2001 and pretty much every minute was totally organized.  Two members had to fly to Italy 3 times to make arrangements and it took them 1-1/2 year of planning to make it happen.  We ended up having to split the group into two hotels but we always ate our meals together, we had bus tours to Pompei,  a day trip to Capri, etc.  We had a formal dinner (yes...we got to wear ball gowns) at a castle that overlooked the Bay of Naples.  We had the base commander there with us along with at least 15 teachers (some retired and decided to stay in Italy instead of moving stateside).  It was such a blast to go back to where we grew up.  Of course the fees for all of those events were much more expensive but it was worth it.

So here I am.....telling you my life story but the whole kicker to this is the fact that my hubby and I met in Naples when we were in 5th grade.  I had a crush on him and was disappointed when he moved away 4 years later.  We met up at the Overseas Brats Reunion in 1999 (30 years later) and we got married in 2001.  We took that reunion trip to Italy as our honeymoon trip.

I'm game.  I've often thought about trying it out, but haven't yet.  Have heard good things about it.

When I called the hotel they said that our rooms will not necessarily be together.  They determine room assignments when people check in.  I said we would be checking in at various times, and he suggested that the first person who checks in should tell the person at the desk of the people in other rooms coming later to have a better chance of rooms being assigned near each other.  He said otherwise they would probably be spread out throughout the whole complex.  He seemed to act like he knew what he was talking about, but perhaps the person Tracey is dealing with has it under control.  Just thought I'd share the info in case what he said was accurate.  The exercise might be good for us, but I'd prefer to be a bit cozier.  I think we'll get plenty of walking in anyway.

If we decide to do Coyote Ugly instead thats fine. I just didn't choose that to save the $25 dollars after reading the reviews and I would like a place to sit after we have been standing for a while at the Pink event. I don't think the drink prices will be much different from one place to the next- they are all going to be high.

Here is the review on Coyote Ugly:  The girls are beautiful, the music is very loud, and the atmosphere can be fun. There are no chairs or places to sit. The place lets so many people in it is jammed packed. This isn't a place to really "camp out" for the night, though. The bar is smallish (for Vegas) and the pouring alcohol over drunk women patrons on a bar routine can get tired after a while.

Daisy- I will be game for the late lunch gathering at the Bellagio depending on the time. You and I have a Packer game to watch Sunday and depending where we end up to watch it we might not make it back in time to do the late lunch. But the Bellagio idea is perfect- regardless what time we go to the buffet.

Packer - you brought up a really good thought there.  Ok, I am having chemo fog so the words aren't coming out right.

I agree, it is worth it to spend $25 for a place to sit down after standing up at the Paint the Square Pink as I am still going through major fatigue.  

I saw the reality shows of Coyote Ugly - I thought it would be nice to see it in real life, however, if it is that jammed pack and that noisy - we wouldn't be able to visit with one another.  I don't care to be jammed pack in a bar that is so loud I can't hear the person next to me.  Still curious and still would like to go even if maybe for 1/2 hour just for the experience.

But after reading your thread - the piano bar seems like a more appropriate place for us to be able to really chat with one another.

Where is the piano bar located?  I would love to be able to pull up a link to it and see what it is all about.

Is it like a karaoke bar?
