I am trying to reduce my antidepressant. Had my first post-treatment appointment with my onco today. Complained that I had a cloud hanging over me today. He very specifically reminded me that my cancer was the smallest cancer that can be called cancer. Explained that blood tests will be used to screen for any re-occurrence, which, by the way, is unlikely. I got home, and had to walk to the pharmacy, Anytime Fitness is on the same block, so decided to exercise away the blues. I got a phone call, and a woman was at my place with her two boys to give Tippy a good exercise run. I had forgotten! I explained my train of thought for the afternoon, and was forgiven. She will bring them by tomorrow afternoon.

So I still have the cloud hanging over my head. I had been getting good sleep, and last night decided to let Tippy sleep with me. Bad decision. We kept waking each other up. Back to the kennel. He won't be happy about that, but luckily I won't hear about it. I got a full-size weighted mattress last week, suitable for a very active sleeper. I need to get some https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OACKW3O/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A14CRMAU1MI7KA&psc=1 to prevent it from sliding around between my sheet and my bedspread.

I have a series of muslin dolls to make and dress for my family, kids and their cousins. I have some cat-curtains to make (I don't want to explain). A quilt to put the binding on, Exercise for my back, as well as going to the gym. Meeting Tippy's demands will be much easier if I can get some good dog-walkers. Our dog trainer I think has recruited another member of our class (and dog) to go walking with me and urge me to walk faster. I am a dog-mom to an athlete, and I am most singularly un-athletic. I think I am the one who will have to change.

    MCBaker,

I sure hope you can get adjusted soon to your lower dosage of antidepressant. Sounds un-pleasant to go through but I have looked up to you for your perseverance and strong attitude. Fingers crossed for you. Oh Tippy, sorry for you too. It is hard to sleep with someone if your not acclimated and so maybe when some of the starch works his way out of your sails. That is in fact why ( you can always go for a walk yourself with Tippy and friends ) I would keep a hold of the dog walking youngsters if possible. Tippy needs to be worn out good so that night times are spent sleeping -- through the whole night.

Good to hear probate is done and the house will go on the market. It looks like for the most part you can get a lot of your life back and draw a lot of well-earned breaths as you move into almost done phase of things. I hope it all goes well. I hope your realtor is the one for you. My only advice would be to try not to have to take the house back off the market once it goes on. There is only one right person and some people miss that person ( around here anyway ) because they don't re-sign their contract if the house doesn't sell right away. Another thing to keep in mind -- if your mom lived in the house for a long, long time -- the house will be really new to the market so multiple realtors ( if the right price, layout, bedrms etc. ) will be anxious to be able to present to their clients. You may get a lot of traffic.

Sun today, but sketchy. Drat, and maybe a shower or so, but nothing that sounds like lots of distress. Have to wait and see. Week-end will be good but will bring some rain I think. Just have to go wit the flow.

Finished a icky chore yesterday. Was taking up some peel and stick tile out of my half bath. Despite following directions from Home Depot and Lowes -- it always sounds so easy -- it was a big struggle. Ended up having to do a whole lot of scraping which was difficult and not producing great results either. Finally in desperation got out the Goo-B-Gone and in about an hours time --- the floor ( just a half bath so not too big ) was done. I still have a couple of areas, but mainly needed to get my small sq. table and sm. chest of drawers ( they are perfect size for the room ) back in the bathroom and out of my bedroom in front of the tv and closer to the entry door than I liked. All is well and I am a happy camper.

Hope you all have a really good day.

My fitbit gave me a lower heartrate after the appointment. And it also gave me an 88 sleep score!! Tippy went into his kennel with great willingness last night. I am eager to know how much the extra exercise works with him. Too bad I don't have a nice large yard for him. We need a dog park on this end of town.

Sunny here, but below freezing all day.

I am glad my sister handled Mom's estate. Her husband has a degree in business administration, and was a great help.

Petite1- I hope you have great success selling your moms house. It's stressful.

We're back from Syracuse and the funeral. The blizzard was north of us, we felt very fortunate it missed us. My partners mom & dad sold their home 9 years ago, before moving into independent living. With her passing from an assisted living facility there was little furniture, etc...to attend to. A lift chair and a motorized wheelchair were donated, clothes as well. A sibling and his wife were left to the task to remove the more personal items for sorting at a future date. We know we all burdened them with the chore and I hope they don't feel too overwhelmed by it.

Yesterday I played golf for the first time since early December. It felt strange to be out on the golf course, which was actually still too wet to be 90 degrees. The day was sunny with a high in the 60's. I played with a long-time golf friend who is in her 80's but you'd never guess she was that old. She plays better than I do though once I was the better golfer of the two of us.

DH played with his men's golf group. Both of us were very tired last night.

I plan to play again tomorrow with the same friend and another woman. It should be even warmer than yesterday and should be drier, too. Then it starts raining again on Monday. Goodbye to golf again!

Di, I am so glad you are home and recovering. Sounds like you had quite an ordeal. Maybe a teaching hospital was a good place for you to be -- a lot of good minds consulting to come up with the best solutions for you. I hope you don't have to wear that Spanks garment too long. I'm sending you heavy-duty get well wishes and gentle hugs.

Yea Petite - once you get these details done, things will be much easier. I was determined to get my mom's estate settled in one calendar year so I didn't have to do another year of taxes.

Do we spread loving kindness? There are many who say that this is our ultimate goal on this planet--to spread loving kindness to our fellow human beings. And when we are able to accomplish this goal, we find that our lives are transformed in the process. We're no longer so strongly focused on things and negative thoughts and feelings, but we've become truly happy, content human beings who love life and living.

Beautiful sun out today which lifts me right up. Lots to do -- but it will be a whole lot easier with the beautiful sun to admire and enjoy. Petite -- ah, hope the contract on your mom's house goes well. Sure didn't take long, eh !!! Hope you are out from under these issues ( all ) very soon.

Hope you are all going to have some great weather. Also that you don't really have to travel much if at all. This virus thing is truly upsetting to say the least. Saw in the paper that there is a highly suspected individual ( waiting for CDC to make it official I think ) with coronavirus in Belleville, Illinois which is only about 50 miles from where I live. I always think of where I live as sort of in the backwoods since we almost always have to go ( at least 50 - 70 miles ) a distance from us for any serious shopping. Only about 13,000 people here so I'm hoping we are by-passed but it is not in my hands.

Otherwise I plan to keep busy and enjoying feeding my kitties and watching the area wildlife. Soon will be looking for the hard to notice changes that will be strong signs of Spring on the way here. I will see my Sentinels get freshly 'dressed' for the summer season.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

I can't believe how YOUNG some of the people my age and older are. I played golf yesterday with two woman who are older than I am. One just turned 80 and the other is 84, I think. They both look great, thanks to taking care of themselves. They're both rather vain about their looks and take advantage of "cosmetic science" to stave off the appearance of aging. They both have kept themselves slim and they both play golf much better than I do. Neither of them has had bc and taken arimidex for 5 years, as I have.

So there is part of my excuse!

I'm thankful for the good things in my life, mainly my dh, who is a good companion and house mate. He has borrowed a power cleaner from our neighbor and is FINALLY going to clean the patio and little porch, both pressed concrete. Maybe I will be inspired to buy some plants for the planters, which are sporting growth of weeds.

This morning we're off to the gym. Tomorrow the rain begins again....

You go girl: carolehalston. I too am an avid golfer with bc. I'm 72 and some of the women in my club are close to 90, still walking the course. Everyone has something to deal with but we just get out there and keep going.

Like most people, Aunt Hattie Mae explained, I saw my mistakes as failures--setbacks and defeats to disappoint, depress, or demoralize me. What they really are, however, are opportunities. Because it is from our mistakes that we learn the lessons we need to develop and grow. . . . Mistakes aren't just our teachers; they're also our motivators. They cause us to reexamine our choices, revise our plans, and, in some cases, reconsider the way we live our lives. And change them for the better. . . . The person who makes no mistakes doesn't usually make anything. And when you learn to see your mistakes for what they are--compulsory education--the harder you fall, the higher you'll bounce. -Patti LaBelle

I do feel there are a lot of people my age or slightly ( by two or three yrs. which isn't that much ) who seem much older. I think it is a "mind" thing in part. I have to consider age in a lot of things I do but try not to dwell on what I can't do much anymore. I feel that way ( finding some work-arounds ) that staying flexible and not giving in has an effect for me. I have a couple of friends who almost seem to look for reasons to 'give' up in a way and give in to the disabilities that sometimes show up with age.

I commend Carole, Goldfish, and anyone else who keeps putting their best foot forward. All on the order of not looking for problems. Half of the battle is keeping negative thoughts and views from taking over your positive view. I'm usually thinking a lot more of what I can do rather than what I can't -- and the thing is -- some of those cant's have been a forever sort of thing so they don't weigh me down. Also grateful for every day.

Going to be 50 and 60's this week and yesterday's late rain -- all we are having for awhile. Bring on the sun. Have a fantastic day everyone.

It's very foggy this morning, which means it's very humid out there. The temperature is supposed to rise to 76 today. Spring is definitely here. The bridal wreath is a cloud of white in the neighbor's yard and the azaleas are starting to bloom. The trees are leafing out so fast you can almost see it happening.

I'm venturing outside my comfort zone this morning. I've been curious about pickle ball, which has become very popular all over the US. The tennis pro at our club is having 2 hr. sessions teaching the sport on Tuesdays from 10 to 12. I plan to go this morning just to see what it's like. I'll report my experience.

    Have a good Tuesday.

Good afternoon! We're still in upstate NY (Albany) but its 61 out, so so nice. I think the Farmers Almanac was wrong, so far. We leave to go back to our FL house tonight, hoping for warmth & sunshine, no jeans or down jacket!

I did get to my gym today for a great workout. I hit our community gym in FL, but it's not the same. Up here I have a great trainer that kicks my butt in a good way. I miss it when I'm not here, but not enough to stay!

Gone most of the day with Dh who was having an IV Myelogram ( long boring process for me ) and you have to lay on your back for four hours afterwards. We started a bit late so we were given lunch, but couldn't start home until after 2 p.m. Good to be home. Beautiful sunny day ( foggy going to the hospital for the test ) and my car thermometer said 61. Love it.

Never heard of pickle ball so I will be anxiously awaiting.

I hope you all have a beautiful day.

The pickle ball session was fun. There were three learners, all of us older women, and the tennis pro, who had drawn the smaller playing court with chalk on an indoor tennis court. The racquets are like large ping pong paddles and the ball is a whiffle ball a little larger than a tennis ball. The scoring rules are different from tennis scoring. The ball doesn't bounce high like a tennis ball. The best strategy is to hit the ball in the air when possible, similar to hitting a tennis net shot.

We all enjoyed the session and felt really foolish when we "whiffed" the ball. We played three games, a total of about an hour and a half. I perspired more than the others, not surprising. It was good exercise and I plan to go again next Tuesday.

I was told last summer by pickle ball enthusiasts in MN that the man who invented the sport named it after his dog, Pickle. I haven't looked that up but I will when I remember to do it.

Today we have warnings of bad weather and are supposed to get 2 to 4 inches of rain. DH just left for the gym. I will go a little later in time to do some cardio before Silver Sneakers.

It is so warm and muggy that I'm tempted to turn on the a/c but cooler weather is supposed to come in tonight.
