Sad night for me, and my daughters family.........so upset.....their beautiful Boxer died tonight.........had a spell,, brought him out of it (heart, but doing great) he got off the sofa onto the floor, fell over, and stopped breathing..did CPR, rushed him to the Emergency Vet, ....we did get him back breathing before we took him, but he stopped breathing on the way even while pumping his chest..........I am heartbroken..........
This is the same daughter who had the BC scare on Tuesday.....I don't know how much more they can take........my grandson has Asthma, and is hysterical......scared for him........my GD has not stopped crying........God help them all........does it ever end........I just thank God we were with him, and not working or away........at least they were there........I am devastated for him and them........he was a beauty ......hugs to all the injured little ones of yours........Lets all pray it gets betteer -
pt, that is awesome. I know you will love it that cruise. Any special reason you are going to NE/Canada? A cruise sounds like the way to go.
Linda, now that you know that DS will be OK, how are you feeling?? Was DS in pain when he took his test? I agree with your DH's interpretation...I don't like standardized testing much at all.
Chris, it is hard when family changes occur...and to skip a tradition that brings good memories is hard. It sounds like this tradition has left a lasting impression on your kids. I hope you get to reschedule.
Sandy, hope you sleep better tonight.Hi Sheila, I lost your Idol thread and have to find it again...I have DVR now so I can keep up. Hope you found yourself....

So, my DD in NJ is having 11 adults and 6 kids so far, and possibly 4 more...and I just heard that it may rain on Easter. Oh gosh, I hope not....it will be chaos. Glad nobody comes here any more. It's so easy to just get in the car and show up with my dinner contributions.
Nite, TOL

Joan, It is our 48th anniversary. We planned on this a year and a half ago and had to cancel when I was diagnosed so we are doing it now.
-
PT- sounds like a really nice trip. Congrats on 48 years together!
Ducky so sorry to hear about the dog. CPR- must have been so traumatic. Most people don't know how to do CPR on pets. They can take some comfort knowing they did all they could for their beloved dog. It's bad enough when one bad thing happens, but why do more bad things often happen at the same time? So unfair. So sad to lose a pet. Since I am an only child, I used to think of our dog as my sister. (Plus, my mother used to call her their first born since they got her a couple months before I was born) Hugs to your family.
Linda- glad the ankle isn't broken - hope it heals quickly. Enjoy your night off from sleepovers! Sleep well!
Hope you are sleeping well too, Sandy.
Going to NY has been a family tradition...my kids used to start packing in May (we go at the end of June) When he was little, DS used to say we were going to "Yew Norik."
DS is into Dr. Who. There is a multi-genre convention in July that he likes to go to where people dress up in all sorts of clever costumes. So, he wants to dress up as Dr. Who. So he went to a couple thrift stores and got a tweed sport jacket and a shirt and he had me order a burgundy bow tie and a fez. Fezzes are cool. His sister begs to differ. I think she would like to do this to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZZm0TA5FwU

HAPPY HOLIDAYS....AND DEB THANKS FOR CHECKING IN!!
-
Cheating and having rotisserie chicken tomorrow. Just cut it up and put it away for tomorrow. Now I need to make a cake and when "D"H comes home from church (took his parents - the rest of us are being heathens) then we have to make a breakfast thing for Easter breakfast at church tomorrow. He found a recipe for the crockpot that is similar to a dutch oven breakfast thing either he's made or other people have made on scout campouts. I hope it comes out okay... and other people beside him like breakfast jumble.
I have nothing to wear to church tomorrow. I'm going to be underdressed and not very colorful. Oh well. I don't want to buy another dress in this size - plus I feel like once I've worn it, I can't wear it again or it will look like it's my only dress ('cause it kind of is). #bodyfatproblems

Happy Anniversary!! 48 years is awesome!!!
So sorry to hear about the Boxer, it is so hard to love a loved pet. My heart goes out to your family.
My DS made it through the test alright. He struggles and school, but tries. That's all I can ask for!
Good for you for cheating Chris!
I wish I were in bed. I cooked all day and then went to a late afternoon party. Home now, getting ready for tomorrow.
Happy Easter All!

Hi and Happy Easter, Happy Spring!
Weather's been nice...but tomorrow, when we are gathering with 8 little ones, the rain is supposed to arrive. It will be great no matter what...
I am icing 24 mini cupcakes (oops, 23 - I ate one)...using a decorating bag...one squeeze, some sprinkles, and done! I also made apple peach crisp and DH made a huge cheese cake. I got bakery cookies....yup, I'm bringing dessert
Chris...I had the same dilemma...nothing that I want to wear...I did go to Macy's but only had about 20 min. to shop. I managed to grab a few things that aren't black (no try-on)...am so tired of my winter wear.
Still I am between sizes and nothing fits right. I have no spring shoes, but I think I'll wear flip flops to DD's ... no more black!
I did a "spa night" at home (just me) - hair, nails, self-tan...I never make time for that...gotta plan everything or it doesn't happen.Sandy, nice that you are cooking...they are so lucky to have you!!!
pt - I think I meant why did you choose to go to Canada and New England?
OK - cakes are done...gotta stuff a few eggs...then off to sleep.
Enjoy your day! -
I hope you're not overdoing, Sandy.
I am wearing black - but there are a couple sections that are bright green - I hope that helps me not look so drab. Maybe I can lose weight for next year...(yeah -that's what I've been saying for the past 7 yrs...)
Up late with last minute preparations for the holiday. Hope everyone sleeps well tonight and has a very nice day tomorrow - even if the weather doesn't cooperate.
Happy Easter!

It's been a busy weekend. Yesterday DS & FDIL brought the kids over to decorate eggs. We dyed closed to 6 dozen! FDIL said she had never had so much fun decorating eggs. Today they will meet us at a big park for our church service then we will come back here and my parents will be over for dinner. Having children around for the holidays again is fun.
I got a call yesterday to sub where I was at last week. Only for tomorrow, but then I will work in training Tuesday and Wednesday, maybe Thursday. This is nice that I finally am getting some work!
DIL called Friday, she had seen the dr. and he ins't sure she'll make it to the scheduled c-section date which is only 12 days away. He did however tell her that if she goes into labor she must be in full active labor before she comes in. That seems strange for a manditory c-section, but I've never had one so I don't know. I have instructed her to call us the minute she goes into any kind of labor so we can start driving there.
Have a wonderful Easter, girls!

Roast Duck a l'orange, asparagus, maybe an apple corn bread stuffing. Cheese Cake for dessert.

Joan, We originally wanted to see the fall colors of New England and Canada. So or original trip was in October. Then when we were on a cruise we signed up for an Ireland cruise this fall. When sanity returned we realized that we could do a land trip to ireland and a cruise to New England for around the same price as the original cruise. We have four seasons here and we figured there can't be that much difference so we opted for New England now and Ireland in the fall. Hope that makes sense. Plus if we really like your neck of the woods we can always come back.

12 days! YAY!!
Happy Easter to all!

I wore lack too, Chris, with a hot pink top. I just love black!

We had a chance of rain yesterday and since our service was outside, DH convinced me not to wear a spring-y dress, I also wore black pants and a colorful top. Ended up being very hot in between the clouds going over, FDIL and FGD both got sunburned.
We hid eggs (over 5 dozen) and luckily found them all. The baby started to crawl... at Grandma's house! DH said I officially entered Grandmotherhood. I took it as a compliment and returned it to him. He said, "Oh no, you have entered grandmotherhood because you are now officially cooking way too much food for the dinners!"
Off to work. Have a great day.
