Ducky.....I feel so bad for people still recovering from Sandy....NOW this one is showing it's ugly face
Sorry for snow lovers......
-
Thank God the Jersey shore is not getting the brunt of this. We New Englanders are kinda used to the snow, it's the winds that will cause problems!! Hoping for electricity. If I disappear, that means no internet
-
Ray..Potato soup sounds good...
Big Hugs to you and Jacob...♥ ♥
Good Night all....♥
I'm gonna watch my DVRed shows now........
Same thing here if we loose power...I'll be MIA.....
-

I am going to watch the weather in about 15 minutes to see what the deal is.....I have a meeting, then got another one then need to run an errand and then to get andrew from school for mom mom and andrew day and told Jamie that I would keep Charli on Saturday and working 4 hours on sunday......and then the week starts over again, but OCF on Sunday for sure....
Went to an appreciation dinner tonight that a place that gave me gift cards and paid some bills had for us, an eagles player was there and so was the Merel Reese a commentator for the Eagles, at a really nice hotel in King of Prussia, and took my friend that goes to the drs and chemo with me as my guest.....it was really awesome and they just helped their 1,000 person....it was started by a husband whose wife died of cancer...her mother won the volunteer of the year....it was the 1st appreciation dinner they had....so if you see pix that is what they are....
Stay warm all going to lay down....talk to you tomorrow....luv u all!!

My goodness ladies - you are really in for it! Be warm and safe and may the power gods be with you.

Hi, spent the morning catching up here...Sheila, thanks for the big HI and squishy hug. (((Sheila))) I can't get on Mon-Wed due to working 14 hour days...
Ray, wow, it is hard to digest all that is going on in your life. Too many changes at once; and now the insecurity and pain caused by DH...as if BC isn’t enough. I hope Jacob feels better today. It sounds like you are prioritizing and that is good. Sorry about your job...are you leaving for health reasons? Or other? When my 3 DDs were small, I had a cake business from my home. All my business was in the summer and I had no AC or extra fridge. I’d be in all day and kids wouldn’t get to the beach...finally I got a job in a bakery/deli where I only decorated...no baking, no cleanup. That was in 1980s
Diane, I hope your roof is done....it is important to finish a roof job straight through...we had ours done in a day, and I missed all the fun while at work. When will you be done with all?
Sandy, that dinner sounds really nice. It is nice to hear when thing are being done on a local scale - it's real people who are being helped. I have a bunch of movies on my laptop including Lincoln and Silver Linings...DSiL shared - they are cuts that are sent out for previews for award shows. I think I'll watch Lincoln this afternoon. Sounds good!
Speaking of TVs, we bought a 50" tv in early 1990s that just won't die. It is boxy like a refrigerator. I am waiting for a reason to get a new skinny smart tv.Ducky, I agree...kids are costly...we put 6 through college – some public, some private. Last one graduated 5/12 and now I am trying to catch up. Let’s just say I’m driving a car with 220,000 miles on it and my house needs new baths, kitchen, trim, landscaping, etc. It was overwhelming; but worth it. Kids are doing well. You must be so proud of your kids and grands. You will find time with DD; I know it is so hard when change happens. My DD is recently divorced and it's changed things. Gotta make it new.
I hope you get the lower end of the snow. I am in the blizzard path and am not amused. No desire to be housebound or without power.
Sheila, Chris, Linda, are you ready for this?? I was going to get DH a generator for Christmas but didn’t...now am sorry. We have a large kerosene heater but it’s gonna be really cold Saturday.
For internet, I have my smart phone which can be charged in the car. So I can check in for a short time. No sleep last night...up since 3:30 AM...2nd night in a row with only 4 hours. Work today (if I get up) until mid day.
Be safe everyone, and please stay warm and check in!

Joan.....you stay safe too......hugs
-
You east coast gals keep warm and take care. We are due for rain today and a clear weekend. I woke up at one this morning and listed to the rain coming down and running off the roof.
I have been feeling under the weather since Monday but it really came on in the middle of the night. Now I have the head and chest congestion. I have to go to the optometrist today. Hope all this congestion hasn't screwed with my eyes today.
-
Meece........take care....so much going around......we are honkering down here, rain now, but snow later today, into the overnight.......anywhere from 3 to 7 inches.......further up, is getting pounded........hugs
-
I just checked my rain gauge and it shows we got 3/4" this morning. That's a lot for somewhere which has an annual rainfall of less than 8".
-
Good for you Sandy!! I hope that helps.
Snowing here
Joan, you should have bought the generator! Last year we lost power twice for 5 days and then 7 days. No water, no stove, no heat, nothing! Wwe bought a HUGE generator that does most of the house. So nice to be able to flush toliets! (Not that the boys know how to do that). Glad you can stay warm. The last power outage we had, I did use my phone too. Thank God for small things!
Feel better Meece!
-
Good morning
OK as we all know it's snowing gently now.....
Schools in my area are closed
OMG....TV people are going crazy about the weather...
Thank you West Coast for caring your sisters here....♥♥♥
Time for my morning coffee...so i know what I'm writing
♥

Still just raining in the Philly suburbs.....what a dismal day. and yes, the weather people are going bonkers over this storm....oh we'll, it's the first big one of the season, and for 2 years in our area, so I guess they can get excited. But sometimes it is overkill. Lol. Stay warm everyone........hugs
-
Guess I better get my sorry ass out of this chair. Off this IPAD, and do something productive. Especially since I can't close the hamper lid...lol. Plus I am a couple days to no underwear, and I have more then any human needs. Actually I have gone into the "ok, I'll put those in a separate pile (smaller size), until I get desperate", which is getting close....lol......so off to the washer I go...... Be back......
-
You are so funny Ducky!
-
Linda....what's the update......
ducky...I did a load yesterday so all my underwears are clean....
Connecticut declared State of emergency.........
I need to make a big pot of some type of soup.........
-
Clean underwear and the following are critical when a blizzard is approaching:
-
(((Chris)))
-
Stay warm and safe my East coast sisters.
-
Thanks...pt dreamers...Hugs
-
OMG thanks Ducky for reminding me that I may not be able to wash & dry if the power goes out...
Linda, you are right, I should have gotten the generator. We had to hunt for our snow shovel. We have gas stove so we can cook stovetop; and our water is piped in by water company so we don't lose water -- just HOT water!
I fell to sleep and awoke at 10 and rushed to work...now 1 PM and way past time to get on the road. I have 30 miles to home. As soon as I get home I will take a 20 minute shower and wash hair. Then warm the house...cook some food and put on a movie.
Meece, I saw that west coast storm and it looks nasty. Be careful!
Crazy weather....even if it is cold, global warming is putting more moisture in the air which feeds rain, snow and tornadoes.
Sheila, snowing yet?? You could be in the big snow range...
Hugs & be safe!
JoanPS - my campus is covered with invisible icy slush and some snow right now, and temperatures are dropping. But we're on a hill and when I drive (slide) down, it should be above freezing on the highway.
-
Joan...exactly my plan.....take a long shower.....make some soup...and praying no Power outage.....
I hate being cold ....Yuck
We never lost power before except during Sandy and the temps were not below freezing.......
Please report when you get home safely.....
-
Joan very light snow..hardly an inch or so......
-
Christ...friggin hysterical...lol....but that is how the morons get in my and Sandy's part of town....right Sandy...lol. 2 flakes in our area, and the supermarket shelves are cleaned out.
-
-
Snowing llike crazy now. Just got home. LOST MY CELL PHONE WHILE I WAS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!! How will I use the internet if there's no power? How will I text my kids and tell them it's time for bed?? Am I actually going to have to talk to them????????
-
LOL Linda......
(not for the lost phone)
I want to play outside....it's coming down but no winds or anything......
I made red lentil soup...it's cooling...then goes in the blender......
I'm very clean and cozily warm...
No complains so far............
I hate to deal with stupid people...
