I just like to keep my life private from the people who cause me stress.  No one really knows I come here except my Darling Husband, so what i say here, stays here...like Vegas.

DS & DIL came over for dinner tonight.  I asked my parents to come be buffers just in case DIL got snotty.  Luckily she behaved, but I am sure she didn't enjoy the evening because we didn't let her go on and on about herself.  It was actually quite pleasant.

I haven't received anyone's itineraries so as to know when to hit the airport...

Meece - I feel the same way - I say things here I would never say otherwise.  And I used to try to have a buffer person but I realized it made things worse because then she resented not being the center of the universe.

By the time I got contractors out of here today, I just wanted an hour without interaction but alas, it was time to cook dinner.  I need to dig out the crockpot as it has always served me well.  They start on the remaining two rooms tomorrow - lots of noise and destruction ahead.

Hamburger pie - maybe that's what I'll make for supper tonight...thanks for the idea!

Was disappointed when I looked into DD's room yesterday and saw a sea of dirty laundry covering her floor.  Sooo - after she went to the first class of the new semester today, I took all of her dirty clothes off the floor and out of her hampers she bought herself and couldn't manage to use and out of the bathroom.  Guess what I'm going to spend the whole day doing?  She'll be 19 next month.  When will she grow up?

I would just leave it.  Wouldn't she be embarrassed to have to wear dirty clothes or smell like dirty laundry?  She must know that you will do it when it gets too bad.

Chris I would leave it to.  My son is complaining about my GD who is 17 a slob and didn't grow up living with his and his wife and my other GD, said the other day I was like that so is Jamie, Kristie is a clean freak.  She wasn't allowed out neither was Tommy (DS) until chores were done....told him that is typical of 17 year olds, slobs.....he doesn't believe me...

Meece, snob we need to slap her, shiela are you up for the task when she is mean to our Meece...My DIL has been around since she was 17 (se is 35) her mother died of a drug overdose and really wasn't raised by her, she is so fake, has no idea what she is doing, my GS is 3 and decided when he goes to bed even if that is 11pm....it is crazy, my DS has no idea what to do, she leads the pack...her grandmother raised her until 16.  She is a hard nut to crack, she as a sister that is younger in her 20's just had a baby...father not in the pix, same father tho....not sure what DIL deal is, but my son is so loyal to her, he believes her over me, when I say something if she says something else, he says she would never lie, whatever.....

Diane is this house taking forever, it seems like it.....

Well the twins and I are in different rooms and it is so cold out, chemo tomorrow, staying in the house, did income tax...

    Sandy - 124pm....

How is everybody?  Think I will make soup, hate soup....lol

My oldest would wea the same clothes over and overe again.  He'd sleep in them and get up and go!  Ah, boys!

Spent this morning recovering more gift cards.  Got 125.00 from marshals and 75.00 from Kohls.  Also bought a new pocketbook.  Loved my tignanello but bought a rosetti.

I've had a couple of Tignanellos - love them, they're so soft! Thank goodness you are recovering the gift cards, geez, that's a lot of money to lose. Damn thief!

Don't give DD any ideas about sleeping in her clothes!

Still not done washing all the clothes and now I have a mountain of ironing to do!

She's not mature enough to realize people will think badly of her if she wears dirty or wrinkled clothes so that won't work.  If I didn't let her leave the house until chores were done, she'd never leave the house.  Really, she would sit and stare at the wall for the rest of her life rather than clean and organize her stuff.  I think it's a mental illness. (Didn't get it from me - I may be lazy, but in the end, I don't like a mess - actually, a mess stresses me out and the stress overcomes the laziness and then I clean - not her.)

Sorry about all the bad DIL's.

I'm glad you and your SIL's (FSIL?) get along so well, Sheila.

Just had a coughing fit - was thinking maybe I could go back to rehab tomorrow, but if I'm still having coughing fits...  sometimes it's a post nasal drip that sets it off - other times it's talking. I haven't been talking much, so I thought maybe I was okay to go...   I feel bad not going, but I can't be germing all over the place.  I saw her briefly last night - brought some chicken and potatoes for her dinner. She is an extremely picky eater so we've been bringing her favorite meals -rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans, and ziti with meatsauce and garlic bread. Luckily there is a refrigerator we can store food in.  Will have to come up with another meal she likes.  Must make her eat - she is ridiculously thin- was too thin to start with and then must have lost even more weight in the hospital.  I'd hate to think what would happen to her if we weren't bringing her meals. They haven't even processed the "order" for her to get the between-meal supplement shakes the dietician said she should/could have.  She's been there a week.

But as far as I can see......their houses is in order and everything is done..........

Don't worry about coming across as a downer - that's what we're here for.  I hope things ease up so you don't feel so overwhelmed (((((HUGS)))))

DD will be 19 next month.  Where does the time go?  (Oh yeah- spent doing LAUNDRY! lol)

I think I might head over to rehab tomorrow -even though I'm not done ironing...  My mother is coming down with a cold.  Probably my fault, but one of the nurses/aides has a cold - so it could be her fault.  I will blame her.

Glad you took your wallet with you.  I always have my pocketbook, worn crossbody.  I have too much stuff I want with me.  Had to get a bigger one recently to accomodate reading glasses!

I told DD that I was going to join concert band with her.  I said I probably could - it is a class (and I am an alum - even played in that band one year.)  She said, "Oh I know - there is one old guy there."  I'm like, "Hey!"  Then she said she told- or was going to tell - her middle school band director she should join.  I said, "Are you going to tell her there is only one old guy and they need more old people so she should join?"  She needs to choose her words more carefully - lol.

I told her I think I still have a piece of music I never handed back in - think they want it back after....then I did the math - 28 YEARS!  How OLD am I?!

I could use some beach time about now!!  Changed my FB pic back to one of the last days of summer, end of a long day, heading home in the boat.  I MISS THOSE DAYS!!!

BTW, Chris, I laughed out loud when I read "where does the time go, oh yeah, laundry".  SOOOOOO True!  I never thought I would have to do laundry every single day but I do!

My kids started doing their own laundry when I was going through chemo.  I just had them continue it.  Oh, If I was doing some laundry I would do some for them, but for the most part it was their responsibility.  DS3 was so picky about his laundry he even bought his own favorite laundry detergent.

That's awesome Meece.  I used to have my oldest do his laundry, then I realized he just kept wearing dirty clothes!  If he did do laundry he would shove EVERYTHING in one load, overstuffing the washer and dryer!!

During high school DS3 loved to were black and red clothing.  I don't think he wore any other colors, so stuffing it all in one load was easy and not an issue.  SO glad he grew up in that way and will wear colors now.  He wasn't goth, just trying to look cool.

I have more black tops and blouses than any other color, it is flattering.  And I am not goth either!
