Thinking Out Loud.....

I don't understand why one has to pick ....one is the mother and the other one is the wife......
We are not talking about 2 wives or girl friends that you should only have one........
As we mothers of girls or boys....we have to talk carefully when it comes to personal issues....not to take sides....when i visit Hawaii...I remain so quiet that DD $ DSIL wanted to know if something was wrong.....
I said NO....You are a young couple and I'm staying with you etc etc........
She said to me Mom please talk we need your opinions too.....
-
Meece...Does she come from a dysfunctional family?
If that's the case she might not understand closeness...she might think you are interfering or even a threat to her...You know what I mean?
And this doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong....
Sometimes things get so complicated........
-
Ok Sandy...this is the neighboor happy Island.....Be ready at 7 am tomorrow.....All welcome bring your own tent......
-
I'll meet you on that island, Sheila.
Her mother is an imigrant and refuses to assimilate into american culture. She's been here 25 years and won't speak english when she is around me. She is more of a child and her children financially and emotionally support her.
After DSs FIL got up to say something at the reception as he was sitting down, he made a threat loud enough for those sitting nearby to hear. Speaking of DS. So I would say dysfunctional is an appropriate term. But then again, after the past week, maybe I am the dysfunctional one.
-
I'm so sorry that Diane and Meece are dealing with these difficult family memebers. After all you've done for them, you would think they would be more appreciative!!!
-
Hi Linda...♥
I was also an Immigrant came here DEC 19, 1971...and refused to live in Armenian Communities where everybody speaks the language.......and some of RPOC's family members also they refuse to talk English and they used to tell me you have 2 beautiful DD's but they don't speak Armenian...I'm not against any languages...i tried to teach them when they were growing up...but didn't work very well
Sorry...i'm talking too much again......
-
No you are not.
I just think that it is rude when you can speakthe language and purposely won't to be able to talk about people in front of them. I know enough of the language to make me dangerous....
-
OK ...It's time to make a cup of tea and watch Monday night's Hawaii5-0....
You can bring the cookies.....
Good Night my friends....♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
PS: I have red velvet cake 2 slices......
-
I need to make my Christmas cookies. No one to make them with this year. Have to invite Matt over to help.
-
It is very rude and i know the pain when at family gatherings they only spoke either Armenian or Turkish and my SIL was Irish....they used to talk about her.....
And i'm right there I understand and speak both languages....I always sat with her because i was embarrassed for them......and we both spoke English
Shame shame shame...........
-
I have tried to give the hint, by asking "what was that?" or "What did she say?" But it gets me nowhere.
-
Meece, I think you should learn the language and speak it fluently. Kinda freak them out!
-
Sheila, it was so sweet of you to sit with your SIL when others were talking about her. I don't know how people can be like that. Really? There wasn't anything else they could talk about besides being mean to her?
My family has the opposite problem - not enough communication. Drives me crazy.
-
My DIL comes from dysfunctional families - each of her parents married three times. Sheila has hit it on the head - she is jealous of what DS has had. She is not allowed in her mother's house by that husband and not allowed in her father's house by that wife - this is not just about me at all
I think I am starting to feel relief along with sadness about their move.
Deb - did you make turkey twice?
Sheila - send the jet for me too. I promise to bring no baggage - how's that for a double entendre.
Hello and hugs to all.
-
OH, for a trip with no baggage. I'm in!
-
I'm in too!!
I'm making a turkey today. I like to do that since we are at my brothers for the Holiday. Now I will have left overs all week. ALso making venison chili for DH. YUCK!!
Happy Sunday!!
-
A turkey sandwich actually sounds good.
-
Good morning All.......
I couldn't log in and was having anxiety attacks......then i realized I added a ♥ next to my user name
and the crisis was over....i always stay signed in...don't know what happened...Anyway
Very cold morning......but being on the Happy Island is making me warm....
Diane....So glad some sun shine is coming out on your thoughts........sometimes we feel like we need to solve everyone's problems......most of the time it does not work and all the mental energy spent goes down the drain
Hey...I have been in therapy long enough to know and understand them but when it comes to applying it to my head doesn't work well.........
OK....I spoke enough before my miracle eye opener COFFEE
I love you all.....♥
-
Linda....Christine does the same thing even if they are not home for Thanksgiving she cooks the turkey so they can have leftovers......
-
We are up at the cabin and had some friends for apps and dinner last night. I cooked all day yesterday and it made me happy - so hard to be without a kitchen. Okay, I'm not without a kitchen but if we cook at the tiny apartment, the smoke alarm goes off every time. Cooking (and eating) is my therapy.
Next weekend at this time, the contractor will be tearing through my house FINALLY. The process of creating our new home will begin. I can hardly wait. Three days of destruction and then the new floors, carpet, and appliances can go in. Painters will work 4 p.m. - midnight - you have never seen so much faux paint in your life. So good that it will be new and fresh and what we have chosen.
-
Breakfast is ready............

-
Well I am bringing baggage cause I plan to be there for a long time, and I think that with out great minds we can figure out get slapped first..
Linda, I bought the turkey for sons no leftovers....should have bought one for myself...enjoy
Shiela...ok have to ask how many languages do you speak
Meece what are they speaking? Do they know you understand it.....and with that comment she sounds like she would prefer to have her husband and children all to her self...or with just her family....if that is the case I am sorry, it happens all the time as I said.
I know I thought when I was raising my son that he would be a part of my life like he had been forever, nobody warned me about the woman thing, and he met her when he was 19 and they got married when he was like 32....their first date was the day I found out I was pregnant with the twins and they will be 19 next month....she has been around a long time, the loyalty is for her...
very cold out it is 38 @ 1130am....boys are playing football with son
my plan is stay in bed watch tv, relax, pain is still there, but started the antibiotics...
Oh and lastly (I am winded today sorry) going to work was the STUPIDEST thing I have done in a long time, forgot I had to stand, didn't take the cane and it was the longest 4 hours I have ever done......am supposed to work next saturday for 6 hours, stupid again, picked it 745 - 300....
Oh I am done sorry....will be at the island as soon as the jet comes....I am bringing the snacks!!!
Sandy
-
I want this house...I really do......
Sandy....What can I say Macy's loves you so do we.....
I got the coupons for Family and friends sale.....
-
Sandy...since I was born in Turkey as an Armenian.....I spoke Turkish and Armenian fluently
Also I went to French nun's school so I was comfortable with that language too......then they added English to it.....so I had all the base reading and writing all those 4 languages......and speak 2 of them
When i came to US I decided English would be my priority so with some practice I was able to speak
Still I make mistakes when I write but you are all so sweet....It doesn't bother me.........
-
cool and I want that house also....thanks....love you all
Friends and Family is awesome!!
Sandy
-

-
I want an all white bedroom to myself.
-
