Yes Diane, time is getting very close.  I keep getting butterflies in my stomach.  I wore my shoes today to break them in, my feet hurt right now, maybe I better look for something more comfortable.

DH is going to have his knees injected with cortizone Monday, the doc said it should last about 4 weeks, let's just hope it does.  He will have to have both knees replaced soon.  He is bone on bone.

    NOVENA NOTIFICATION

We will be starting a novena Tuesday Aug.14th . I have asked Frank to pick the novena. Please, keep him in your prayers daily as he is being chemo challenged at present. The herceptin has stopped working. We have many members that are having condition changes on the Catholic thread and throughout BCO right now. Please , join us on the 14th.

A Novena is prayers said daily for 9 days with stating the intention of your prayer. An intention can be for a person , group, or a thought. You don't need to be Catholic. Prayer is Prayer. If something in the prayer doesn't fit your belief system, substitute or omit that portion. We are an Ecumenical group which means inclusive of all.

Everyone on my Favorite member list gets this notification, as I have added those that have been involed in the past, UNLESS they are there for a different reason. Frankly, my memory is getting worse. So, if you have receive this and scratching your head as to why, please forgive me.

Send your intentions to me by Pm or post on Catholic thread on sunday (preferrably) or monday and I will combine them into a one list. It takes awhile to do the composite list, thats why I ask that intentions be sent on Sunday, Pax Sheila(sassy)

Deb - I have had great success with the cortisone injections and they generally last, for me, much longer than 4 weeks. He'll be rockin' the dance floor at the wedding :)

The weddings of our children do cause a great deal of emotion, anxiety, and joy.  In retrospect, I think it has as much to do with a passage for us as women/moms as it does with the event. LOVE the grandparent part.  I whisper "Mimi" to her all the time and she smiles so big I can't help but think she knows that I am Mimi. She is so damn cute with the most massive thighs ever seen on a baby - she is 98% for BMI.  Probably I am too.

Linda - I hope your DS is drivng my DS's tank.  It kept him safe and happy.

Chabba - very creative solutions over there in your part of WA.

    Chris -

Heading back to LA this Saturday to pick up FDIL's wedding gown and shop for fabric to make her a jacket as the wedding is in Nov.  We will also be checking on bridesmaid dresses.  Then back home that evening, back to LA the next day for a little anniversary outing and overnight to make it to my MO appointment Monday.  What a way to spend one's anniversary...in a doctor's waiting room.

DH and I bought a small window AC and put it in out master bedroom during the summer.  We turn it on for the night so we won't spend the energy cooling the rest of the house.  Yesterday after work I started painting my sewing room.  I was using the brush to cut in the edges and the paint was drying in the brush.  It's only gonna get hotter here this week.

Meece - boy you're busy.  Hope it doesn't get too hot.  Enjoy your anniversary outing. How many years?  Congratulations!

Focus on getting the all-clear from the mri as being a good anniversary present...

Deb - hope your shoes get more comfortable - maybe you can use one of those gadgets to stretch them?  If not, I hope you find a more comfy pair.  No shoes fit my feet - I can relate to uncomfortable shoes.  Hope the cortisone shot takes DH's pain away and lasts a long time.

Did you ever get that DQ, Sandy?  I get the Peanut Buster Parfait, but with peanut butter sauce instead of peanuts.

Hope everyone is keeping cool today.

You girls are all so special, and thank you for the welcomes I got! Sorry I haven't been back on this thread as have been quite busy. I hope to find time to get to know you all!

Diane (Rain) did we meet earlier on the drinking thread? Hope your home will sell quickly...that to me is the hardest part, keeping it so neat and clean ALL the time! My dad's home in HI sold the first day, so that is why I ended up there for 3 wks in July...had to help them go thru stuff and get stuff ready for the movers. Their 3br home here on the lake is fully furnished as we have been buying stuff to fill it up. SO, I am worried about where the 4700 pounds of stuff they had shipped, will go! Was just hard to get them to get rid of things. I doubt they will ever downsize (they're 91, and 95) and they still have a condo in HI. Hope it all goes smoothly for you!

Sheila, I need to start cooking better and I'm so proud of you for losing that weight! I keep gaining, love to eat too much.

The window installers were here today, but found LOTS of rot hidden in the supports (2x4's) so now have to have some experts see if they can replace the foundation support boards. Yuck! Only one got installed. Hoping it won't be too many $$$$ to fix it.

Hope all you girls will have a good evening!!!

    Hugssss,

    Kathy

Sister in law (RPOC's Sister) called to congratulate me then she started feeling sorry for me because Christine moved so far away....i'm sick and tired explaining myself that from the bottom of my heart i'm happy that she is happy and her and I we have almost this perfect mother daughter relationship...what more do i need.....plus i have the opportunity to go there and be happy myself maybe one day i will be permanently happy.....I update you in the future nothing is certain right now  Sealed

i think i said enough to give everybody a headache...I'm in a very talkative mood

...yeah we WERE sleeping Sheila, but this lalalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sound woke us up! LOL, just kidding! So glad you have such a good relationship with your DD (i do too, with my 2 DD's)....that is SO great! And yeah, now you have a good place to visit!!! Sorry the SIL was giving you all that stress. BTW, I like your updated plumeria...very pretty! My White ginger is so tall now and blooming profusely....the guy replacing our windows asked me if it was a type of honeysuckle as thats what the smell reminded him of! Funny. BUT I am so tickled as our Kahili Ginger, that only blooms every yr or two, has 2 flower bracts (is that the right word?)...now am hoping it will open before winter. It takes a long time for the blooms to open, but it really does look like a kahili.

    hi everyone!

Hi Ladies..................Leaving for the shore around 10am, just waiting for the phone call from my daughter saying, "on my way"...................will be there till Sunday..........Come back Sunday night, since my grandson has tryouts for the High  School Golf team, on Monday and Tuesday...........then back down Tuesday afternoon, and will stay till the following Monday....................

Saturday is my "golfer's" actual birthday.....we did celebrate  last Sunday with the whole family, but his "real" birthday will be celebrated down the shore................his Mom asked him if he wanted to go out for dinner on his birthday, and he said "no, I would like to have Nannie's homemade cheesesteaks".................so guess that is the menu.  Several weeks ago, I made them for him and his sister for the first time........................he is a picky eater, and sometimes will eat one at a restaurant, but just "eats it, no big enjoyment"..................well when I made them for him, I could not believe his comment....................he said.................Nan, I'm in heaven, this is the best meal I have ever had"..........................I laughed, but you know inside I was saying """""YES"""""""..........it did my heart good to watch him eat..............love this kid............

Ok, ladies enjoy your weekend, and will talk to you all when I come home.................say a prayer my grandson makes the "golf team"...............I think he is doubting himself a little, and need some prayers.....he is an excellent golfer......only problem is "he doesn't know it"....................he is a freshman, just starting HS............hugs.

We have delicious salmon on the west coast Sheila :)  Grilled on a cedar plank - yum!

Linda - I think she meant cheesesteak, cheesecake?

Sandy - thinking of you and hoping for as good a day as it can be for you.

Wahine - yes, we spoke on the drinking thread.  I just couldn't keep up with that crew :)

Ok, off to the next "get my house ready to sell" project.  Clothing closets have been raped and organized.  Ten donation bags in the garage from three people plus linens.

Sheila, I think it might have been "Mahi Mahi"? That fish IS good, very mild and tender. But if there IS something called Mai Mai, clue me in on that as I haven't heard of that one. Did you try any of the Ahi Poke? Its raw cubes of ahi (tuna) with diff ingredients like onions, seaweed (limu), soy sauce, etc. I LOVE it and would even buy some to have for breakfast. Now they are making Crab Poke, Tako Poke (octupus), etc. The limu is the dk brown, branchy type, and I would always ask for lots of limu in mine. Ohhhhhh that was soooo ONO! Now I hope I didn't make anyone sick with that, but it really is good, esp if you like soy sauce, and ALOHA soy sauce (shoyu) is the bestest!!! Very sweet and different than Kikkoman, and the other types.

Yummmmm salmon would be good right now too!
