Chris, I would think a quick handwash in cold water the first time so the colors won't run.

I'm happy that you're happy Smile

Put the shirt in the sink - lots of dye came out - kept rinsing 'til there was less dye coming out - (so much dye came out, I'm surprised there was any left!) then washed in washer and took forever to dry alone in the dryer.  Made DD use the hair dryer to dry the last wet spot. (Dryer is on the big side so one article of clothing squishes against itself so middle doesn't dry - grrr.)  She wore her track uniform and the tie dyed shirt wrinkled to her track meet.  I'm tired of chasing after them to give me their clothes so they are clean and presentable when they go out...  Now to figure out how to get DS's jeans to finish drying without shrinking them in the dryer before he needs to pack them tonight to go on a several-day camping trip... I told him to put them out in the sun.  Did he listen?  No.  He'll probably just pack them damp.  ugh - these kids.

Well, it would appear that housework is not the only thing bad for my health.  Trying to eat healthy is too.  Was making salmon for supper - had bought a big fillet, so I cut it into smaller pieces in case it would help make sure it cooked in the middle without drying out the ends...Well, while trying to cut through that freaking hard-to-cut skin, I had just finished saying, "I guess you need a special knife to cut through this skin," when the knife slipped and cut a small slice of skin off the side of the end of my thumb!   So much for my trying to eat healthy.  I'm not going to survive the food preparation process!  I am so NOT domestically inclined...

Ouch!!!  Next time ask the person who works at the fish counter to skin it for you.  I always have them do that!  It is slippery.  Salmon is pretty eay to cook, just have someone else do the hard part.

You are a prolific bunch. I was gone for three plus weeks and trying to catch up on the forums I have missed. It will take forever. Florida and Bermuda were heaven. It was warm.  I loved it. Then went across the Atlantic. Very cold and gray , just like home.  Raining and gray at home. I need to find some more sun soon, didn't get enough.Smile

Oh so sorry Blondie--u have been going thru an awful time now. i' sure all u'r kids are in denial, they can't face thins sometimes, especially when they are used to a strong figure for a Mom, so this is not real for them. I have no solution except maybe a sit down with them and it has to be serious (of course) but other than that I wouldn't know what to do myself. This disease just destroys so much and takes so much from us. And there are so many wonderful people here vent away we do care.

Firstable...we are friends here and venting is permitted anytime....

I just want to point out couple of things. Once you become eligible for Medicare (not age related) and your income is low shouldn't medicaid cover the 20% ? Please check it out.

And once the twins are 18 they considered legal adults and I believe you don't have to include their income in the household gross income.

You can get your own FS under your earnings.

If you want some information about these issues....I will gladly go on their site and find out how it works/

You are a strong woman Sandy and i admire you  ♥♥

Can you apply for low income housing?

Boo boo is hidden under a band aid.  It'll be okay.  It's just so startling when the knife starts cutting into your skin...even if it is just a small piece of skin...

I wasn't trying to cut the skin off the fish - I was cutting through the skin to cut the big piece into 4 smaller pieces.  This is what happens when I'm in a hurry- I do not belong in the kitchen. I don't know where I do belong, but it's not the kitchen...

And cleaning is bad for me too - Burned my finger on my curling iron yesterday...  I was cleaning the bathroom sink while I waited for the curling iron to heat up and dragged my finger along it as I wiped the counter.  I'm such a spaz lately - I don't know what is wrong with me.

Sandy, there should be a nurse navigator of some sort wherever you get your treatments and they usually have information about sources for financial help.  Hang in there Sandy we are all pulling for you here.

Chris,  I think you need a spa day to destress or maybe a long weekend on a sunny beach with a tropical drink. Cool

Sandy, I am so sorry for the stress that is overwhelming your life right now.  I agree with Judy, you should try to talk with a social worker where you get your tx.  There are ways to get help, but they don't make it easy for those who REALLY need it.

    Welcome home PT!!

    Deb....grouse!  Your poor BIL!

Chris, hope the finger is better.

Sandy, we love you!!  You are going through so much.  Please take cared of Sandy, everything else will fall into place.  Is there someone at the hospital that can help you?  An advocate?  Maybe they can let you know if you qualify for housing etc.  Vent away.  Someday the kids will get it. ♥

Wanna share your recipe?  I'm looking for better meatballs and sauce than I make/use...  A lady who used to live a couple houses away made us spaghetti and meatballs when I had my bunion surgery several years ago - they were so good, but she didn't give me the recipe and now they've moved away...:(
