Shiela I am so sorry!!

Exciting times, Deb and Sheila. Sheila - maybe you have to ask if they offer a senior discount.
lol - 7 yrs ago, Linda. I'm still a teenager in my mind... Did you survive the "concert" this weekend (guitars and amps)?
Hope your infection is getting better, Sandy.

3:25 PM, Eastern time...................................Gonna do my Paul McKenna CD now............I need the rest and relaxation, and also the hypnotic meditation about my not shoveling food in my mouth anymore.
Love this man............he has kept me motivated, and lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks...............Lost 10 in 5 months on WW................what an expense that was..................and this book only cost me $15.19 with the CD on' Amazon. And the beauty part........it is working............I'm in control of my eating, thanks to Paul McKenna.
-
What is it with Paul McKenna that you were able yo loose weight and still sound very happy.
-
Hey girlfriend...............gonna grab something to eat, since I am suppose to eat when I'm hungry, and not by the clock, and right now I'm hungry............not sure what is on the menu, but whatever it is, I will enjoy it.............especially since I don't eat myself into "nausea" anymore..............will give you the lowdown, in a few..........hugs.
-
Oh, I might do my CD before I come back on too, so give me about 1 1/2 hours.............
-
Who is Paul M and how do I lose weight?
-
Ok Sheila, here goes......it could get long.................
I heard about this thing on TV called Gastric Bypass Hypnosis.......It was a woman in NJ, who did it........She used hypnotic messages to re-program your way of thinking about food........sounded very promising......However she was in Medford......not a huge drive, but far enough that I didn't want to go there.........It was $150.00 a session, for 1 hour, and depending on how good a subject you were, it could take 3 or 4..........Now, if it wasn't working she told you to stop......not a scam, she was very honest.
A couple days later I saw Dr. Oz's commercial, and it said he was going to have on a man who claimed he could "MAKE YOU THIN" through hypnosis............well I watched the show, and was very impressed with this guy........
His name is Paul McKenna....he is from the U.K., and has been doing this for years, but is just bringing it to America.............He wrote a book, called "I CAN MAKE YOU THIN:.........there is a CD with the book which is about 45 minutes long.........I decided what the hell................I had just got done spending almost $200.00 on WW in Oct. to March, and lost 10lbs......ridiculous....................so I went to Amazon.com, and sure enough they had his book, which includes the CD for $15.61................I figured "what the hell", its worth a try, and Dr. Oz, was very, impressed with the guy.
Thus the Paul McKenna person........the book is great, and the CD is fantastic..........his very smooth soft spoken voice soothes you into almost a trance like state...............He makes many suggestions about food, how to eat, when to eat, but not "what to eat".............his 4 rules are...........
1. When your hungry EAT
2 Eat what you want.......not what you think you should.
3. Eat consciously,enjoying each bite
4. When you think your near full.......STOP.
So I listen to the tape everyday, and it has helped......I find myself very aware of what I eat, how much I'm eating, and when I am full....................I don't eat because the "clock" says its breakfast time, lunchtime, or dinnertime.......I eat when my stomach says I'm hungry, and only till I'm near full.........if I get hungry later, I can eat again, as long as it is true hunger, and not cravings, or situation eating, bordom, anxiety, etc.
There is a thread on here called Wednesday Weigh In..........I started going on there when I found it, and was on WW..........the girls are fun, and I have told them about this Paul McKenna and his book..and ..CD................Several of them have started it too.
Sheila........it is working.......my daughter (who is very intune with "brain functions" said what he is actually doing on the CD is re-programming my brain...................I said "Nikki, can that be harmful........she said well it is power of suggestion to the sub-conscious mind, and that is what he is doing........when you want to do things you use to do with eating..............his mantra will come through, and you will be in control...............she said that is what he is doing.......putting you in control and not the food.
I'm a believer, and I feel great about it, and am happy doing it..........I look forward to listening to him each day............5 lbs in 2 weeks, and have not exercised yet............I am thrilled with this, and amazed at what the power of suggestion can do.....................hugs.
-
Good for you Ducky!!
-
Ducky...I think you're in love with his voice.
If it's working...good for you you are a lucky woman to find the solution.
Eat when you're hungry...might not work with me because i'm always hungry...
Thanks & Hugs♥
Maybe one day i will find the strength to start........???????????????
-
TOL is approaching to its 20000 post.
Handful of us can really chat.
Let's have a party that night.
lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalaaaaaa

Do you have to listen to the whole 45 min every time?
We lose an hour this weekend -
You mean you're always thirsty, Sheila -
I think maybe if you can break the cycle you won't always be hungry and you will be more in control. (Says the one who had Little Debbie's Swiss Rolls, Hershey kisses, and ice cream today...)
-
Chrisct........yes, you should............believe me it is that good, and that relaxing you want to listen...........Like I said "I owe myself that 45 minutes, and if it helping my health, I'm willing to do it............Last night I fell asleep listening to him, but he says in his book, that's ok, that even while your dozing his words are getting through to you subconscious..........I'm a believer, it is working for me, and trust me............I have done it all, since I was about 28, after having my 4th baby ...........I just kept getting bigger and bigger...............just a shame he wasn't around back then...............although, I must admit.
In the early 90's I tried a woman hypnotist, she sat me in a chair, told me to relax........I was on the 10th floor of a medical building in Center city Philly..............It was springtime, the window were open slightly,
She told me to relax, close my eyes, and concentrate on what she was saying............ok, I could not relax sitting up...........heard every frigging bus, fire engine, police car, and truck that went down the street.................I thought I would be in a room, that was dim, lying down, and relaxing...................Cost $90.00 which she never got, cause when I told her I could not concentrate because of all the noise and distraction, she said "your a poor candidate"......I said "oh good, and your getting $90.00 less in your account this week, and walked out..........never heard from her again.
This is different, CD, my headphones, my recliner, and the blinds closed, just me and his voice.............that is probably why its working........he's getting through to me..........of course the Bose Headphones (complete silence) helps too.....................
-
So happy for you Ducky. I have been hitting the gym hard, 5 days a week. Taking Spinning classes, Group Power Hour ( weightlifting) treadmill, zumba...blah, blah blah......have not lost a pound. I don't eat alot and eat very well. So depressing. DH has lost 52 pounds so far.... that's so fair!
-
3:53 pm
I have POM.....sam...... Dove chocolate
-
Makratz.......LMAO.................I thought of "Spinning Classes"...................Christ, I can't roll my eyes without going getting dizzy. Can't imagine what I would be like in a Spinning class, unless I am picturing this way different then what it says.....
I told Sheila today in a PM...........I fell the hell asleep again today listening to the damn CD.......like I said, he says its ok, that its still getting through to your subconscious mind, but I'm challanging that answer.....................Told Sheila, I can't remember what the hell people tell me when I'm wide awake and listening, can't imagine how its suppose to get through my head when I'm sleeping............oh well something is working whatever it is.
My son came up to me on Saturday at my G.Grandaughters birthday party and said "Hey Mom, (and he had a ribbon in his hand waving it side to side)...............................Do you think I can make you "bark and roll over".............................I said ..........ok "asshole" who told you what I was doing".....................He said "who else your son-in-law, who was told by my daughter"...................I said "ok, Chubby, when I'm skinny and your still fat, you will eat those words.................he roared......................
So time will tell, but I swear, I hope this doesn't "screw with your brain".....................hugs.
-
Linda - you're burning fat and building muscle - so no weight change yet. That's my theory.
Ducky - I'm glad the cd works for you. I guess I wouldn't be a good candidate for hypnosis either - I would have been distracted by all those noises too. Too bad, 'cause I could really use hypnosis - for a lot of things.
Forgot what POM is...enjoy, Sheila.
