Happy Easter to all.

Okay, now I can be serious!
Yesterday didn't really go like we had planned, which was to be able to do barrel tasting with the winemaker. After going out to breakfast, we came back to the vineyards and decided to take a walk with the winemekr's wife "Sheila". We walked and looked at the frost damage and headed to the top of the hill to look over the area. Gorgeous! As we headed back down and were back at the guesthouse, we heard horse's hooves then a strange noise and then human screaming. The 3 of us ran towards the horses and saw Sheila's daughter running towards us and screaming. We thought she'd been kicked when she dropped to her knees holding her head.
Instead, she had one of their favorite mares out for grooming, when the mare spooked and crashed through a fence, ripping her chest open. (I won't go into the detail). Sheila headed to call the vet, and I tried to get her daughter (a grown woman) under control so we could catch the horse. We caught her, and trailered her, but as Sheila and her daughter took the mare to the vet, DH and I stayed at the winery to help, nobody can do the computer sales reciepts. All I had we Sheila's login passwords.
I managed to figure out the system including making credit card sales. DH helped by getting the orders together. We work so well together.. It slowed down for awhile so the winemaker took me into the barrel room and set up his gear, and let me watch and taste as he created a new wine, working on the blends to get the wine right. I felt privileged that he trusted my palette. So, I did get to barrel taste, but in a much different way.
THe horse may survive, they needed to get her through the night without shock. Whether she's lame for life, time will tell.
What a getaway for relaxation, eh?
Sorry for rambling.

WOW, Scary and Exciting. Good job, you & DH work great under pressure. I pray mare will be OK.
-
My DD has a friend that lives in CA and manages a vineyard, I will have to find out were.
-
Happy Easter to all!!!
-
Oh, Meece, how horrible. I hope the horse ends up okay and that Sheila's daughter is okay - such a traumatic experience. You are a good friend and a smart cookie to be able to hold down the fort while they dealt with the emergency. Glad you got to do some tasting even if not the way you had planned. Hope you are okay - that sounded like a pretty traumatic experience.
Happy Easter to all ♥

Happy Easter to all those who celebrate!

Happy Easter. It's been a long, fun day. I'm exhausted!

Great Pix Deb!!!
-
That was taken today by DH. I cropped it from the pic of my Dad and I. Can't see my crows feet. LOL
-
What pic? What am I missing? A pic of deb and dad??
-
Nice to see your smiling face again, Deb.
I spoke with Sheila this morning and so far, so good. The mare is still on her feet and there is little to no swelling yet. Amazing what vets can do!
-
Good Morning Friends
I love the picture Deb.

Just got the insurance statement from my biopsy. Ouch. There goes the money DH was having deducted to pay for DS's braces... You should not have to guess at what your medical expenses might be when putting money in flexible spending accounts. You should be able to just put money in and leave it there until you need it. IMHO
-
I agree Chris.
Nice pic Deb. Love the smile!
-
Have you ever added up the amounts from all your procedures? I must be worth at least $250,000 by now. Thank God for insurance!
-
Happy Monday afternoon, ladies!!!
-
It is a happy one since the kids were back in school!
-
I don't know why but I was so tired in work today and I wasn't the only one. You would think I would be bouncing off the walls with all the sugar intake I had.
Still hoping that the horse will be OK.
-

-
Then enjoy your tomorrow. Get some rest Deb.
Where is everyone else?
-

Hello TOL's. I know I have been pretty absent lately. It's just the damn neck/shoulder stuff - it keeps me off the computer in an effort to prevent inflammation. Anyway.....enough about that.
I hope you all had a nice Easter - we did. DS and DIL and DD here for dinner with me and DH. DH and I went to a giant nursery and bought a lot of plants for him to plant under my direction. On Saturday it was 65 degrees, today we are back to rain, wind, and low 50's.
Tomorrow I meet with my med onc to review how I am doing on Arimidex. I have to say that I suspect y greatly worsened neck issues may be from the lovely pill. We'll see what they say. Today I read that Femara will now be available in generic. If I need a change maybe I will be able to try that one now.
How are the dad's doing ladies? Sheila, is your dad now in his facility? Deb, did dessert go ok with your dad?
Linda - you must be so glad to have the kids back in school - I think it is much worse when the weather is bad.
Hello to Chris and Blondie and Chabba and everyone I forgot in my fog - sorry if I did.
-
Welcome back Diane.
Dad is in the facility and we still have to do the paper work to make it permanent.
