Thinking Out Loud.....

I was in the hospital all afternoon. He was going to the bathroom and almost passed out. good thing the aid was by the door and started to yell and they came. i heard someone saying his eyes were rolling back. I thought he died on the toilet. I got very scared. But he is OK.
I'm so glad he is not going home after he leaves the hospital which physically he is ready to be discharged in 2 days. He is saying 2 words and falling asleep. Never finished a sentence today.
Thank You for listening.
I had a piece of steak and AG

(((((Sheila))))) I hope his days get better, for both of you.
-
Good Morning. More of the wet, frozen white crap today. I finally saw a bunny today. We have LOTS of them usually, but with all the snow, I think they were buried!
-
(((((((Sheila))))))))
Bunnies are cute. We have some that live somewhere in our yard. Haven't seen any, yet. However, DS texted me from school yesterday telling me that there was a skunk on the soccer field around 10-10:30. He wanted me to call animal control. I told him he should tell a teacher so they could call since they could better see where the skunk was. I called the routine police line and someone had already called it in. The dispacher said that skunks can be out at that time of day. I thought if they were out during the daytime, it meant they might be rabid. I hope animal control found it.

Christc, Stereotactic means Mammographically guided. You canot see anything as Seyla said, but you are constrained by a Mammo squeezer (Not a medical term) and it isn't very comfortable. the incision they made is sealed with a steri strip, and I don't have a scar from it. Although more involved, it was better than watching the BS stabbing (and re-stabbing) a needle into the lump that sent me on this roller coaster ride.
I'm not sure how it all connects but I am scheduled for a "vacuum assisted MRI guided stereotactic core needle biopsy".
-
((((Sheila))) What type of tests have they run on him?
Today is my 4 year cancerversary, woohoo!

-
Good for you Deb!!

Its a crunky day. Rain, cold, dark.
But Im grateful to be here.
I took my last Femara this morning.
Deb...My father had an abdominal cat scan for blockage. Still didnt hear from his DR.
Im ready to slap her.
-
Happy Cancerversary, Deb! Wishing you many, many more cancer-free years!
Happy Last Femara, Sheila! Hope the dr calls soon - why do they keep us waiting?
Thanks for the info, Meece and Sheila. Biopsy scheduled for Monday at 11.45. At the hospital - closer location. Hope I get home before the kids come home from school. DD has an appt at 2:45 - have to get home in time to take her to that!
I think I saw a cardinal today. I saw more red than I think a robin would have had-it was a little too far away for me to get a good look. Signs of spring.
Today is DS's dentist appt - and my next class. In the snow. Not sure if they might cancel. Hope I can find my way there this time - took the wrong ramp off the exit - directions didn't specify - ended up in the boonies - had to call DH to try to get him to tell me how to get back to where I was supposed to be since the stupid map I had had the town broken into 3 pages and I couldn't figure out how the 3 pages fit together to know where I was and how to get where I wanted to be. He couldn't even help me - took him so long to figure out where I was that I saw a sign for the school and was able to find my way there. THEN I took a wrong turn going home - in the FOG - and had to turn around, but then found my way. I am hopeless. Trying to laugh about it.
-
Meece - that description of the biopsy you're going to have- vacuum assisted... what a mouthful! I hope it is easy and doesn't hurt(much anyway) and finds that whatever they are seeing is totally B9! Sorry you have to wait so long for it. Waiting seems to be the name of this game though. My treatment the first time dragged on FOREVER. 1st mammo Jan 6th - last rads tx Nov 30th. Excessive, eh?
-
chris...i know the waiting and the tests were more draining than the actual treatment itself.
One little advise if you can change your daughters appointment for that day.
Because by the time they make you ready and the biopsy which could be 45 minutes or more and they want you to sit there for a short while after...and if they are late for your appt....
you don't need any stress that you are running late etc...
Just a friendly suggestion.
-
Good luck on Momday Chris. When is yours Meece? Am I confused? I thought you mentioned you were having one done too.
-
On the 8th. I told them I wanted them to use that vacuum and suck it all out so they won't have to look at it agian. As of Monday night the pain is back. Maybe I just noticed it then since I got poked around on Thursday. Two weeks, two days...
-
Yep get them done.......so happy for the two of you that you are able to visit and take care of your dads....
-
You're right, Sheila...it might be cutting it close. Nurse said I should be done by 1:30. I'd rather not change either appt. I already had an appt with the BS scheduled for Thursday- that would be perfect if the biopsy is done Monday.... what to do, what to do....
Meece - lol - suck it out!

Got news from my DB this morning, my father will be going home Tuesday. But he has to go by the assisted livings rules. He has to use a wheelchair when he ventures out of his apartment. He gets too winded and tired when he walks any distance. I think I will buy him a wheelchair.
-
Do you think your dad will go for it?
-
He has no choice. It is for his own safety. My brother said that one of the head nurses quoted that the next time he goes into the hospital he probably will have to stay at a nursing home. How the hell does she know. Maybe that is true but she has no right to say that. Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one and they all stink!!!
-
Deb....Medicare covers wheelchair.
Thanks Sandy.
My father needed a walker but we never got him one because he was even refusing the cane.
-
Only 80%.
My father is a stubborn Englishman. In the beginning he refused to use the walker also, now he depends on it. Maybe he will get in his thick English head that he has to depend on the wheelchair. There are a lot of people there with wheelchairs.
-
Good night!!!
-
Deb - glad your dad will be going home soon. Hope he doesn't give you any trouble about the wheelchair.
Sheila - did you ever hear from the doctor about your dad?
((((((Everyone)))))))
-
Goodnight all!
-
Nighty Night my dear sistahs.
-
No Chris she never called.
Good Night Friends!
-
Good morning all. Hope all your dads are better today.
We have cardinals all winter long. One is bright red the other is muted red. I forget which is male/female.
Light snow now but shouldn't amount to much, thank God!

DH has been on jury duty this week. He got seated, so will be going to jury daily for then next week and a half. He has an interview for a job at 7:20 tomorrow morning, but must be at court at 9:00. The rehearsal for his son's wedding is tomorrow evening, then the wedding Saturday. I'd say he has a bit on his plate, so I need to be very understanding the next few days.
-
Good luck with his job interview. I have jury duty next week. Not looking forward to it.
Yes, he does have a lot on his plate. You too! I think you both deserve a vacation after the wedding.
