Thinking Out Loud.....

Had an extended family b-day party to go to today in Sturbridge. DH took his parents and DS, and DD drove me in "her" car. First time out of state. She did great.
-
Got about 5 inches of that white stuff. Left the house at 1 to visit my Dad, he was lying in bed soaked with pee cause he spilled his urine container. He said he pressed the button a long time ago and no one came in. I went up to the front desk and complained, then asked how is he doing, during that conversation the head nurse mentioned to me that he has not received any PT since January 17th, WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell is going to break loose tomorrow. His PCP did not request it cause he is on vacation, "F" that, someone was covering!!! This totally pisses me off.
I wish I knew the Medicare system in and out. They are only paying for 20 days then there is a co-pay of 141.50 per day. His other plan has a 1000 dollar deduct able that has not been satisfied yet. I may have to look into Medicaid.

(((((DEB))))
Sounds like a fun day Chris!
-
Go get them Deb.....got up the chain of command....I would march right into the office of the director and ask WTF....you are paying....you are getting paid, report to the state and medicare what.......Watching the Oscars....preshow.....
-
So infuriating, Deb. I hope you can get to the bottom of it and get them to give him the care he's supposed to be receiving - and get it paid for properly! Hope you and DH are all better from your illness and that your DD is feeling better now too. (((((((((((Deb))))))))))))

I typed a letter of complaint:
I am writing this letter of complaint to voice my concerns regarding the quality of care at the Westford House. I expressed my concerns to the head nurse February 27th on behalf of my father Robert Moorehouse in Room 205W. My father has not received Physical or Occupational Therapy since February 17th. This is unacceptable. He is there for Short Stay services and time is crucial for him to receive Physical & Occupational Therapy to be accepted back into his assisted living facility. It has been 10 days as of this writing that his has not received Therapy.
On several occasions I have been there when he has pressed the call button and waited 15 minutes to be assisted to the bathroom. He has soiled his clothes because of this. This is poor care, neglect and I am deeply concerned. The housekeeping is poor, the floor is dirty and unsanitary as well as the tray he eats on. There are no sani - wipes around to disinfect the surfaces. I do his laundry and his clothes are soiled with urine on many occasions.
I was told his PCP, James Peterson did not order additional therapy because my father was due to leave. However, he was advised to stay for further care.
I think the staff at the Westford House should have brought this to our attention immediately or contacted the doctor's office to reinstate Physical and Occupational Therapy.
The purpose of his stay in the Westford House is to receive Physical and Occupational Therapy and these 10 days of services are owed to him.Regards,
Deborah Ryer, (daughter and Durable Power of Attorney)

Good ICY morning. Today is rainy but right now it's icy, freezing rain. Loving this winter so far. Bring on spring!
-
-
I shouldn't say this but yesterday the was absolutely not one cloud in the bright blue sky. It was only in the mid 50s but beautiful. I went into my greenhouse and it was 104! I left the door ajar and enjoyed the warmth.
-
FREEZING RAIN!!!!!!
Can I live in your green house?
-
Sometimes I wish I could. I let it cool to 74 before I closed the door again, but it felt so nice to be in the sun and be warm.
-
Gray and rain.
Almost no snow left on the grounds.
We are ready for the next big one

Linda...Anything new from the last weeks MRI?
(((SISTERS)))

You all might be having tough time in the snow. I never see snow fall in my life. That must be wonderful experience. There is a place known "Tawang" in the mountain top .. everyone goes there to see the snowfall which is about 24 hours journey from my place by road and 1 and half by chopper.. somewhat risky.
-
You can have mine raj! I still have about 18 inches on the ground. Raining pretty good now. Hoping it will melt some but really not warm enough. It's only 34.
Haven't heard about the MRI yet but I did put a phone call in to move them along!
-
Makraz ! Not warm enough at 34. OMG. we feel too hot at 34. The weather of my place is salubrious. Winter is only about 2 months.. Dec & Jan and reamining months are warm. Minimum 10 and maximum 38-40. There is no rain till today. So ,this year we are expecting to cross 40 because of global warming. During rainy season there is always heavy rainfall and flood everywhere. We use to it. Whenever I see snow covered mountain pictures I feel so happy and wonder if I can touch them.
-
I'm guessing you mean 34 celcius?? I meant 34 farenheit. Freezing is 32. I want some warmth!!
-
Oh! you mean freezing at 32. That must be too cold. My god ! I cant imagine myself as we never have that experience in India. Can I send some heaters from India...? Just kidding as an alternative to talk to you.
-
LOL!! I need heaters!! Yes, its VERY cold here, I'm guessing not like India. Just send some warm winds this way!! When it gets too hot for you, I will send you some snow!
-
Be ready to store it .. I am passing it through this thread OK.
-
2 months of winter sounds good to me. It is nice to have the change of seasons, but I have no tolerance for the cold anymore. I wish we could send you some snow, Raj. Not just because we've gotten so much we're sick of it, but so that you can experience it for yourself firsthand.
I just can't get over how amazing technology is that we can communicate, by the touch of our fingertips, with people on the other side of the planet - in real-time.
-
Snow update Picnic table on 2/28 compared to what it looked like after the 1/27 storm as shown in my avatar.
-
I was thinking the same thing as I was writing to Raj. Very cool!
-
Here are a couple pics from the visit from Bambi and his friends. Hard to see them in the trees. And the basketball hoop got in the way of a cool pic of one of them bounding down the street. I don't see deer that often so this was exciting for me.
-
Great pics!
