i have to look at the veggy store for farro.
you name it they have it.
I tried WA and actually liked it.
Its meatier but lighter in taste and on bodily functions odor
-
Farro is my favorite new grain and if you can find the brand Bluebird Grains, that is the one I love. Good to know that it will be less odiferous.
-
Diane....odiferous?????????????
-
Ok, sorry, I didn't mean to use that word
-
Sorry?????? i still dont know what it means
-
It just means stinky...
-
OOOh like after effects of AG?
-
Good Night
-
Yes, exactly
-
RCG, when you mentioned Culinary Anthropologist I guessed you are an Alton Brown Fan?
-
I am increasingly fascinated by the origins and science of food. I can't bake like you do but I have developed some pretty good cooking skills and knowing more about the food is a natural next step I guess. We hosted a birthday party last week and had a private chef here cooking all day (my friend hired him for her husband's bday - we were just the secret venue). I got to cook with him all day and he was full of tidbits of information - the best part of the party for me was before the guests arrived
I don't want to be a chef, I do want to know more though, being a food writer would be fanastic.
-
DH gave me two Alton Brown cookbooks for Christmas this year. Can't wait to delve into them. They follow his shows and I can't wait to revisit some of my favorites, It is always interesting to hear about the anthropology of food.
I love talking food and getting new ideas. I made linzer cookies for the first time this year. So much easier than I thought and boy have they made a hit! I love positive feedback but take the not-so-positive well. When I serve something new I always conclude the meal with "Would you like me to make this again?"

Welcome Becky!!
Off to Hot Topioc with my son.
-
Good Morning
-
So glad DS & FDIL have graduated from Hot Topic.
-
I made a dry rub for chicken last night and recieved raves, and requests for more of the same. Love it!
-
I need that fruit salad!! That looks delicious!
I'm so sorry you ladies are covered in snow.
To me, it's beautiful. But I'm sure it would get old after awhile.
We got a couple of snows last year. Total amount was probably .1".........LOL. But we were tickled with it.
-
What is hot topic?
-
Maybe she meant tapioca.
This is a confusing page.
-
Welcome Becky and beware they talk about food and asparagus all the time, lol....It is Tuesday and who made all the appts that I have this week with the twins, omg, drs. today for me, dentist tomorrow and thursday something else....I wanted to go out today and then stay in til this white stuff goes away.....Whatcha all doing today?
Sandy
-
No, Seyla. Hot Topic is a Mall Store with clothing, music, accesories for the "young crowd". I am being kind. Lots of black and gothy looking stuff.
-
I guess it is more colorful now, but lots of pop culture stuff.
-
I'd rather have fruit salad
-
Am I too old to know about Hot Topic?
guess so!
-
Me too connie.
Unfortunately I only have pears, 2 apples, and 1 orange.
Thanks for clearing my head Meece.
I never heard that store name before.
-
My youngest was the only one interested in it and he is 21. When they first came to town in the 90s they also had a head shop in the back room and witchcraft paraphernalia. I only know that because it hit the news.
-
Diane...What # are you gonna have today?
-
Sheila - today is #5. Nipple is a bit sore today....and so it begins.
-
Let your Dr. know you are sore, and maybe exagerate it so he can give you something for it.
-
Lotion, lotion, lotion. Hope it doesn't get any more sore, RCG.
Yummy fruit salad
Thank you so much Sandy for mentioning your doctor appointments - my DD has one at 1:00 today - I completely forgot!!!! And we aren't showered yet!
I'm having trouble keeping track of what day it is - holidays mess me up.
Hope that wind goes away soon. Brrrr. I don't want to go outside.
