Thinking Out Loud.....

Hello all - just browsing recipes for watching the Husky game. There is no good salmon out there, so the SAG menu is out
So tonight will be cheat night.
Appetizers - proscuitto wrapped pears with balsamic drizzle and Trader Joe's mac/cheese bites for others.
Entree - Pasta with mushroom cream sauce and turkey sausage
Dessert - Going to try to make zeppole filled with nutella.
Maybe I can do it
-
41 here.....cold......
-
Oh RCP I can taste it.
Hey Sandy....
-
I think I can smell it from here too! Hope your having fun.
We just took the boys out to dinner for my sons bday. Now they are playing video games and are happy again. It's been a long day. It's going to be a long night!
-
Llinda - hope you are surviving! How many boys are there? I remember when I realized that the old rule that it is the same number of guests as your age no longer worked for us. I know this isn't there yet, but it wlll be - a friend tells me it is more economical than dinner out, wear and tear on her and house, buying/renting, etc. I have no idea.http://www.gametruckparty.com/
Had a menu change on the main course - made sweet potato and chicken curry - yum!
I just heard from my father-in-law - he is very excited to be heading out this way, says he is too cold. He also provided a list of meals he hopes I will make him. He is pretty awesome.
-
Well your dinner sounds great! Even with the change.
We had 6 boys over today for an airsoft gun war. They are crazy but they had fun. 2 of the boys are sleeping over. That means I will have 4 boys for the night which is more than enough. The huge party days are over, thank God. Although my oldest, whose birthday is June 21st, has a huge party. But that's because it's the beginning of summer and I invite all my friends over too. Two years ago we stayed up and partied until 4 a.m. My neighbors weren't happy. It was fun!
I will check out the webiste you mentioned.
How was the Turkey loaf, Sheila?
-
Turkey Loaf was dry. I bought organic GT even with less fat. But no and no
I made fresh flat green beans (I Dont know what they are called) with carrots in olive oil and tomato. That was good.
-
Cooking with Turkey can be tricky because it dries out so easily. I'm glad you enjoyed your veggies!
-
Finally Im able to do 2 things at the same time.
Listening Christmas music and type with 2 fingers. Yes still.......
Thats why I can never do Chat by the time Im finished typing at least 5 people are connected already. LOL
-

-
lalalalalalalalalala Joy to the world lalalaaaaalaaaaaaaalaaa
-
I feel very Holidayish tonight.

-
I took a test a long time ago in typing. I did 93 words per min. I don't think I can do that now.
-
The highest I did was 35
I dont do well under pressure.
-
Just got home a while ago helping DD organize and pack, she is going to rent her house and if she gets a job in Bermuda she will be living over there
-
Deb my dear friend.....I can really relate to you.
The first few weeks was difficult and I felt sad and terrified because she was gonna be 11 hours away. No I didn't see her every day when she was here but she was here.
When she didn't call me for a week she used to call and say.
"Mom I'm calling you to say I'm alive and we used to laugh.
Think the best part you will have a permanent place to visit and stay there.
(((Hugs))) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

She will be moving in with us for a while which I will love. But what I don't like is one of her cats, he is a psycho cat. Hates changes and will attack you if you go near him when he is in one of his moods.
-
Sorry about the above picture.........
-
Why?
I love cats. She has two, Smokey the feral/psyco one, and Tinkerbell the skittish one.
-
Are the cats staying with you after she leaves?
-
Yes, her boyfriend rents a house in Bermuda and they will not allow cats. So I will have them for at least a year. Smokey is 14 and Tinkerbell is 13. Who know they may croak while she is away, of old age of course. LOL
-
He looks like this.
-
I can see what you are talking about.
-
Tinkerbell looks something like this cat.
-
very mellow looking
-
RCG...How was your nutella filled whatever (I know what it is but my brain is saying no)
-
The zeppole are amazing. They are basically little donut balls, that i fill with nutella after cooking and then roll in cinnamon sugar. This is the dessert that makes me crazy
The sweet potato curry was really good too but I wasn't happy with using thigh meat from the chicken, won't do that again.
I guess you can all tell that I love to cook and sadly, eat.
Sheila, when I read how good you are, I feel inspired to be the same and then comes a request that I make something or other......
It has been a nice mellow evening here - DH is wiped out so it was football on the sofa for us, DD had her BF over for dinner with us and they are hanging out. DS will come visit tomorrow and take his sister to a movie too.
The whirlwind that has existed since July 28 has finally caught up with us - we need a few days of rest and pampering and no responsibility.
-
Its difficult when you have family or children.
I really cant use that as an excuse. When I eat because I love to eat.
I made red lentil soup with veggies put it it in the blender came out so good creamy but not heavy.
I filled 3 32oz containers 1 for DD, 1 in the freezer the third one can stay in the fridge since there is no meat inside doesn't go bad quickly.
You dessert sounds droolingly good.
-
Sheila - I would like to make a good lentil soup - my DH loves lentils and barley and the like. Please send me if you can but I am guessing that you are just good at doing it without a recipe. We try to eat vegetarian at least 3/week.
