My sister sent me that joke and that is one of her milder ones, lol.

I am cooking up a storm, just finished with the Butternut squash, I sauted it in brown butter for about 20 minutes, then put some chicken stock and brown sugar.  Cooked until the liquid boiled away.  Now I am doing the sweet potatoes, oven roasted in a little EEOV until tender then sprinkle small pieces of butter and brown sugar.  Then I think I will do the stuffing and set the table.  I had to play hunchback up in the attic to get some more folding chairs.  Yell

OMG, the Butternut Squash came out perfect (not to brag) and the sweet potatoes are to die for.  Now for the Stuffing, I will make the stuffing and cook it tomorrow.

I think I am going to be up late, I have a 17 pound Turkey, how long will that take to roast without stuffing?

Its DD and I. We didn't do this type of Thanksgiving long time.

I made a cauliflower casserole. All ready to go in the oven tomorrow.

I will also make Bulgur (crack wheat) rice dish. We are all set except the pie which Deb is making extra so no problem.

If I can still climb of course.

Sandy Happy Thanksgiving to you too. We missed you here.

Let's make it a small mountain. 6288 feet is too much for me.

Did I mention my Vit D was low, I'm falling apart.  I have to double up on that now.

I've been taking about 7000 IU's pf vitamin D3 for about a year now and my level is finally at 49, up from 20.  It makes you feel so much better!  Check out the vitamin D thread, Deb.

Good morning from India. When  I cracked the jokes of deborye to my friends  I felt so good  seeing  them out of control , non-stop  laughing , I am feeling so good as this  is new topic as well  as they never hear me cracking jokes earlier. They said I am so funny.

    Good for you Raj!

LInda - is that your daily dose of D?  I will definitely be bringing the Bourbon Chocolate Derby Pie.

Deb - Thanks for including us - we won't overstay, I promise.

Sheila - Water is so delicious, I could skip pretty much nothing.

Here it is 10:45 and one of my dear friends just found out we would be home - she called and said you have to come here, another guest who was in charge of dessert canceled and since we are now home...well it is just great.  No pouting for me.  They now say snow and freezing rain so we will keep our fingers crossed....

    Happy Thanksgiving all!

I agree, good for you Raj!!!  You're very funny, I'm sure.  We'll have to get some more jokes for you!

Yes, that's my daily dose for vit D.  Last year they put me on an RX for D which is D2 and doesn't really do much to raise the levels.  I did 2 12 weeks of the RX, 50,000 IU's a week. My level went up from 20 to 25, then dropped, then I started the D3 and it started to rise slowly.  I was at 37 at one point and thought I could lower my daily dosage so I dropped it to 5,000 IU's a day and then my levels dropped again.  So I stay on 7,000 daily for now.  I do not take as much in July and August as I am a beach bum who doesn't use sunblock.  In the summer I take about 2,000 IU's.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having some water this morning, Sheila?

We are now going to a friend's house whose family can't get here so I am saved from anything but dessert making :)   I love to cook but it's not as much fun with just us.

Sausage stuffing and cornish hens sound delicious.
