Olivia's "gastric dumping scan" is scheduled for next Friday at Scottish Rite at 7:30am. Please pray that this scan will be THE test to reveal what the problem is and the treatment will be a quick and easy solution.
I went to her school today and signed the papers for the "home teacher" to start coming in to get her caught up in all her classes. I dont know when it will actually start, but I sure hope it will be Monday.
She is doing okay mentally with everything that she is going through, but the "spark" that was once in her little eyes is not there anymore. I can tell she is beginning to feel just a tad depressed and I sense that she is fighting feeling like her condition is hopeless. She is at home all day long all by herself while all her friends are in school. I can't stay home with her all day and it is killing me to know she is feeling so lonely, and left out, on top of worried about the docs finding what is causing this.
"Disciple Now" begins tomorrow and she has been looking so forward to this since October of last year! She is tore up that she can't go. I told her I would take her and even if she only felt like staying for 30 min to an hour we could do that. She got the biggest tears in her eyes and said "Moma I can't. Just walking down the stairs makes me feel even worse". She is heart broken and it is breaking my heart. I just can't believe this is still going on.
She is able to eat and drink, but her daily intake consists of 2 "Boosts" , a banana, a little Sprite, either a few saltine crackers or a few pretzels, and a little thing of applesauce. Not even 1000 calories a day. She hasn't slept a straight 8 hours in weeks. She wakes up about every 2-3 hours feeling so nauseated. She will nap some during the day but not more than about 2 hours.
Just keep praying.

Poor little girl.. God Bless her. Olivia, I am sorry... this too shall pass and you will look back at it and teach someone else how to deal with hardship.
Gods Love,
Laura

Karen I wished you didn't have to wait a week to get that test
I hope they can figure things out soon
-
Karen - I am feeling so bad for both of you. If she's not sleeping, neither are you. I pray they get to the bottom of this soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Karen - I just don't know how you can be holding up! You are doing chemo too in all of this right? Working and dealing with a sick child. God bless you and Olivia. Prayers always!
-
You guys are so sweet. Yes I am still getting Herceptin tx's every three weeks and no I am not getting much sleep. I am getting about 4 - 5 hours a night. I do own a gym and am the only person there too and I personal train people in the AM and late afternoon. When I am not training I am working on building websites - I do that to supplement income during these horrible economic times- managing 6 websites- one that has a message forum.......- and TRYING to get my "survivorbiblestudy.com" site and forum built so I can get it on the web.
BUT, the Bible promises that the Lord will not put more on us than we can handle, so I figure I will have plenty of time to be tired after Olivia is all well.

-
Moody..just curious is this scan for her gall bladder?.....She sounds like she has the same symptoms I had when i had gall bladder disease!.......I know she could be too young for this but maybe that is the problem...Hugs and best wishes...Lucy
-
I feel so bad for Olivia. I wish there was something she could take to make her at least fel ok until they figure this out!
That is a long time to wait for the test next week...Im sorry you all have to wait so long.
You all need some answers, And some sleep.
Thinking of you,
Pam

May she been well soon. I am praying for each of you in this time of great trials. May the answer come soon. God bless.....

Been praying for Olivia for some time now, and just dialed the prayer pager...that is such a good idea. In case anyone missed it, just dial 770-388-6901, then after the msg dial 111#. That way Olivia knows when someone is praying for her. Hoping and praying for some answers soon, and that she will start feeling better, and you all can get some sleep Olivia baby, you have people praying for you from all over the world...we desperately hope you will be well soon! Karen, thanks for all the updates, I can only imagine how hard this is for you.
Love and Hugs,
Kathy

hollyann, funny you should mention gallbladder, as that is what I was convinced it was when all this started. Every female in my family and my moms extended family has had gallbladder disease. I had it for 6 years before being accurately dx'd because I didnt have the classic symptons, I only had nausea and really bad heartburn.
With that said, they ran all of those tests first, as we were hoping it was an easy dx. But NOOOO. In addition to blood work (which mine was ALWAYS normal) they did an ultra sound (which mine was NORMAL) and a HIDA scan (which they didnt have 18 yrs ago for me) and all indications are that her gallbladder is fine.
But hey, keep posting suggestions as I am just waiting for the right one to come along. I figure you ladies here have as good a chance of stumbling across the problem as the doctors do at this point......LOL
Kathy, thanks so much for posting her prayer pager # again. It gives her such delight when it buzzes!!

Hi Olivia! Honey , I'm so , so sorry you are still feeling bad. Please try not to get discouraged. I know its not easy when you are going through something like this. I am praying for you daily. I just called your prayer pager! Soon , the docs will find out what the problem is , and you will be on the road to recovery. And after you are all better , you will be able to help others who might be in this situation. Just by talking to others who might feel the way you do. Just like the ladies and men do here. Thinking all the positive thoughts your spirit and mind , and heart can hold Olivia. God has blest you with an angel , you call her Momma. And I pray for God's Blessings for you both. I'm praying you both can get some rest and maybe something to eat and drink. And I pray Lord , let the nausea seece. love and hugs to you Olivia and Karen. xxxx Melody

Karen, I stopped following this thread when you guys came home and didn't realize how long this has been going on. I feel so bad for your whole family! This has to be so hard on Olivia, so many tests for such a young girl. She will be ok eventually, you have to hold onto your faith in these trying times. In the meantime we are here to support you and help pray for your little girl.
-
Just back from cross-country travel.
Sending additional prayers: for her home-schooling & for the upcoming test, for her mental state and for everyone's strength and endurance as this thing is wrestled down to the ground, for once and for all.

Just a reminder of Olivia's prayer pager 770-388-6901 if you say a prayer for her please call her pager to let her know. It really boosts her spirits to get these pages.
-
Ladies, I have put the prayer pager in the original Thread post at the top. I thought this might help. I noticed all you reposting the # for everyone.. AWESOME! So I stuck it in the Top!
Gods Love,
Laura
-
Laura that is so nice of you : - )
Karen even though I haven't been calling I'm thinking of Olivia all the time. I have a cell phone but it's only one of those tracfones which the minutes aren't real cheep so I try to watch my calls. If I had free minutes I would be calling all the time : - )
-
Headed to church this morning, where I will include Olivia in the official prayer-circle there.
Asking for answers & insight -- care & mercy.

Someone asked me how the pager works so I'll explain it in case anyone needs to know. You say your prayer then dial her pager number. It will ask you to push 111 then # at the sign. Then you are done and Olivia knows you said a prayer for her. I know Karen has said this pager really helps boost her spirits so I try to say a little prayer every time I think of her and call the number. Anything to help that young girl to be able to get on with her life.
-
Thanks LuAnn!!!
Lord, please give the doctors the answers for Olivia. Let them know what is wrong with her this week. In Jesus name, Amen!
-
Karen, Oliva........still praying and sending strength and hope.
-
Hugs and cuddles to Olivia, too!! -
You guys are all SO AWESOME!!! I am absolutely HUMBLED by the love and prayers you all are so faithful to send daily.
We had snow here in Georgia yesterday!!! We only got maybe an inch at my house but hey, in Georgia, it was plenty enough for them to close the schools ROFL.....
Poor Olivia LOVES the snow and just cried cuz she felt to crappy to go out in it. I told her that she wouldnt feel any more crappy outside than sitting on the couch inside, but she reminded me that she feels worse when she is standing up (gosh mom)
Anyway, I have been keeping a mental "tracking pattern" of her nausea and here is what I found found to be consistent since all this started:
Her nausea gets worse in the middle of the night and wakes her up at least 2 times during the night. The days that she has been able to eat a bit more are the nights that It is the worst. Yesterday she had two large gatorades, 1 boost, a banana, and grazed on pretzels on and off. Last night she had me up at 12:30 and from 2:00 to 3:00. SOOOO the correlation I am beginning to see is when her digestion slows down (as it does in the evenings and night time) is when it is the worst....... hmmmm
So now I need one of you to give me a diagnosis so I can treat her. Thanks
