Malted milk balls??????  Did someone sneak them in without me knowing?????  (That's what I get for sitting quietly in the corner!!)

I'm here with you Randie--I tried to bring my really cute ER nurse, but he had to work and couldn't get away--He'd make a great cabana boy!!!!  (Okay, I'll quit drooling now)

The surgeon showed me the before & after pics yesterday.  Very scary looking.  He did say that I was the most cognitive patient he ever had on a vent!   He did tell me to start back on the tamoxifen--yeah me!!!

    Love & hugs to all!!

Hi RanD - how are you doing?  Hope you are resting now.  We will try to be quiet.

Karin is probably at the computer looking for pretty pictures to spruce up these drab walls.  Rock - are you SURE those were malted milk balls?  If you find chocolate covered raisins, look out.  We didn't bring any of those!

    Hi Everyone,

Randie- dont trip over us when you start getting up again!

Rock we need more details- sounds promising!

I took dd to a college visit today- it was a JUCO(Jr College) with a really strong softball program. DD is just a junior in high school and I wanted her to visit several campuses and types(big, small, jr college, D1, D2, D3) so she could get a feel for campuses etc when coaches can start talking to her. This JUCO coach called her several weeks ago and asked her to come visit- the big colleges cant call yet. Anyway, while we were there she offerred dd a FULL scholarship- all tuition, fees, books, dorm room, meal ticket etc- I dont know whether she wants to go there or not but it was really exciting to get an offer on the table like that!!!!

Gotta go cook dinner- Im sneaking chocolate cake in for Randie and all the rest of us!

    Kristy

    Hi all,

I'll be bringing banana pudding (from Paula Deen's recipe--PM me if you want it, it's incredible) and a big bottle of irish cream for us to have in our good coffee. Move over, Rock, I'm still sore from surgery!

Got three of four drains out this morning, the one left is abdominal.  The PS showed my hubby how to take out the 4th one when it's time (The office is in Dallas about 60 miles away)...what a relief to only have one drain!

Rock, I told you he would call...and you'll figure out whether he likes  you "that way". Noelle, great to talk to you, can't wait to have my butters...

Still retired, and with GREAT boobs,

    Sue

Belgian Waffles for breakfast - warm syrup.  Randie, what type of juice would you like?  Oh yeah-there will be fresh strawberries!

    Will someone bring some butter?

Sorry I got all that water on the floor...  I promise I'll do better tomorrow.

Hey, this is a great room you have, ranD.  Lots of places for us to curl up for a nap.  I hope you don't mind if my favorite place is at the foot of your bed.  :)

You do need more gas in your blood, though--50% just isn't enough.  I hope the "procedure" today is helping with that, but I suppose it takes awhile for the docs to know whether everything is sealed up nice and tight. Maybe your oxygen saturation would be higher if we weren't all hugging you so much.  (We need to let you rest some, too.)

I am appreciating all the goodies everyone has brought:  Viv's Canadian coffee; Sue's incredible Paula Deen banana pudding; malted milk balls; chocolate cake; stuff on the previous page that I can't go back to or my post will disappear...

Kristy, that's great news--I love hearing when someone's son or daughter gets an offer like that because they've worked so hard. Sue--3 drains out, and fantastic boobies!  What a great day!  Isn't retirement wonderful?

Jen, I was walking through the yard yesterday when our phoebe's nest exploded.  It must have been time--all the babies took off at once, all in different directions.  The mom and dad birds spent the rest of the day trying to gather them all together again.  (Bug-catching lessons were scheduled, I think.)

Gracie, congrats on being a cognitive patient. (I think that's a good thing, right?).  I can be cognitive for another 90 minutes or so; then I'll have to call it a night.  I hope y'all weren't planning to stay up too late tonight.

    Hugs...

    otter

[Oh, I just saw that Robin was bringing Belgian waffles for breakfast.  I'll bring some pecans and some maple syrup. Yummmm!]

whoa!  I nearly slipped on the water on the floor!  You are having some kinda fun there Otter!  I have a couple of bean bag chairs that I brought - along with home made ice cream - yum!

RanD - Just trying to quietly sneak in hoping that I do not wake you.  Hugs and prayers to you, we are here with you.

Waffles for breakfast sound fantastic - I will bring some fresh fruit to go with it.

Good night ladies - prayers to May 08.

    Hey all,

It may be slippery in RanD's room but the fumes from all the yummy food will make me put on boots if I have to in order to be with all of you. It has been a long and fun two days. More details later...right now, I just want to send Rand and all the rest of you hanging out a sweet night of rest.

Rock - Just for you, I switched from the spray to the wipes.  There, is that better?  Probably makes for better breathing, too, huh, Ran?...lol...And I would say lounging on couches is a promising start!

Jen - How about some double-dipped, peanut butter malted milk balls?  They are to die for - I'll grab a bag (or two, apparently Rock needs her own!).

Randie - Glad we're at least making you chuckle.  Just tell the doc you're talking with all "your people" - it would be even better if you pointed at various spots in the room and started naming names - "Oh, look, there's Otter at the foot of my bed"  "Robin brought waffles for breakfast"  "Rock!  Step away from the malted milk balls!!"  Things like that.  Then you'll get reeeaaaalllllyy goooood drugs...aaaaahhhhh...

Well, so far, no swine flu for anyone here.  Katie did make it to school this morning for her state testing and Kelly threw a full-out tantrum after she was brought home by grandma and didn't get to spend the night again.  However, this was after she had already changed her mind - twice.  Now I'm D.A.T...somebody wake me for waffles - I've got powdered sugar and whipped cream.

Jumping in the shower, off to herceptin.

Something smells fishy?  Otter - what do you eat for breakfast?

(Quietly saying)--Good morning everyone!  (Don't want to wake up Randie)

Waffles, warm syrup, fresh fruit, double dipped peanut butter malted milk balls (where can I find these???), homemade ice cream and banana pudding----so much for the few pounds that I have lost!!

Robin, the bedhead comment made me laugh--mine is just long enough to stand straight up, like a rooster, in the mornings, so I'll hide behind someone who is taller than me!!!

Is everyone remembering to wash their hands and use the squirty stuff on the wall??????  (Sorry, but the nurse in me just had to post a reminder.)

Is the air conditioner on????   Don't know if it's the hot flashes or the cute male nurses...................

Love to all, with big, gentle hugs!

Robin stop flashing me with that camera! And why do I have a peanutbutter moustache and peanut butter finger prints all over my blankie this morning? And I think somebody peed the bed, its all wet eww.

I actually thought about the recipe book for a bit. Was gonna see how much kinko's charged to bind something like that. Just a passing thought....

3 days of being in the upper 80's, one day 60's.....today in the 40's. At least there is less HF going on. Man slept so good last nite too. We had the windows full open and a fan going. I woke up buried in the blankets this morning and oh so cozy.

Did an arm measurement this morning... first one in a month. Looks like I am holding my measurement now wooohoooo! I just have chest issues and swelling, it comes and goes. I still do my morning rubdowns and sometimes a small one during the day on my upper arm.

Tomorrow is herceptin day....... 6 more to go....

Hugs RanD!! (and of course to everyone else too XXOO)

(Yawn...stretch!)  Okay, I'm awake.  Again.  (ranD's on Pacific time, so the time zone thing got me up a long time ago; but I managed to snooze off again once everybody settled down.)

Julie, otters eat Belgian waffles for breakfast, just like everybody else. And, no, I did not get the bed wet (in any manner of speaking).

So, ranD gets puffed with talc today, eh?  Sounds exciting.  We'll all be there, crowded around, watching...

Jen, what is it with those temperatures?  It did the same thing when I was in MN a couple weeks ago.  I think we're truly having late Spring/early Summer here in AL now.  I'm wearing tank tops and shorts, so I can make Vitamin D.

Hugs, everybody.  I get to meet up with another BCO sister (webbie) for lunch later this week, as she's passing through near here.

WooHoo Sue! You are beeuteefull!  Blue is your color - nice Ta-Ta's!

Randie-we're each holding our bottles of talcum powder praying for a successful talcing of your lung.  Here's to the formation of scar tissue and no development of pleural fluid. (May '08 sisters tap bottles of powder in a toast to you)

The bedhead pictures are comical - promise not to post them on FB
